  • this theme was weak Summerslam 1989 them was better

  • 0:25-0:32 I nostalgiagasm every time

    SO MANY MEMORIES!!!

  • @J4K31 You said it... that's my favorite part of the whole theme

  • i want to hear what the iron shiek would do to cena!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @MrTeejaysingh probably lose or do commentary

  • i miss the wwf so much

  • does anyone know the name of this theme song..

  • Comment removed

  • WWE needs to do a remake of this song for Summer Slam 2011

  • @bluethundershark right, with a great wrestler like CM Punk headlining the event, this theme will fit very well, if his opponent wasn't supercena

  • The Original Summerslam Theme Song is a Classic

  • I miss WRESTLING themes. Nowadays it's all pop-rock crap which has nothing to do with wrestling. Bring back WRESTLING themes MADE by the wwe!!!

  • Summerslam 1991 I have on VHS....Vince saying: The Macho Man and Miss Elizabeth in a match made in Heaven. Then nuptials turn into napaaaallms...AND A MATCH MADE IN HEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLL!

  • Holy SHITT (head explodes)

  • don't wait until the 11th hour, call now!

  • SummerSlam 91 , 92 , 93 , 94 ... This era was amazing ! ! I like WWF and i hate WWE ...

  • @SpaceCelte THE WORLD WRESTLING FEDERATION WILL LIVE AGAIN!!!

  • @AaronBruceLadner : I hope so !

  • @AaronBruceLadner The spirit of it will. But thanks to the World Wildlife Fund, the name will not. :(

  • @SpaceCelte hey hey hey you are partially correct, 88, 89,90, and 91 were the great years. Summerslam 92 was in wembley stadium, and hogan wasn't even there, and they didnt use this theme either :(

  • AWESOME!!=)

  • E! should use this for their Oscars red carpet coverage.

  • @artddp Yeah that countdown clock would drive me up the wall after I already ordered but it got me hyped for the show.

  • Back in the day Summerslam was always the day before the first day back to school it was always a good way to end summer break

  • wwe paper views these days are awful. back in the day they were special now with one a month and each one being boring its not worth in my opinion paying $5 or £5

too many boring and crap wrestlers unlike the 90s and 80s.

  • Yeah I agree with you all. I loved that Theme for the years they did. I don't care how old it is, WWE needs to bring it back and stop using these horrible songs that they use for ever PPV now...

  • @badass87irocz28 I like this theme but the SummerSlam 88-89 theme is the classic that is like The Miz... AWESOME !!!

  • @crassyfrake E! or Entertainment Tonight should use this theme for their Academy Awards pre-show and red carpet show.

  • this captures Summerslam better than whatever obscure emocore band WWE hires next year can do

  • @crassyfrake agreed.

  • @crassyfrake there is no word emocore. Its emo.

  • Hearing this theme makes me want to pop in an old VHS tape of SummerSlam 1990 (back before they started "naming" all the events - it was just the PPV title and the year). I think Old Man Vince should return to his musical and promotional "roots" on what built the foundation of his business - at least for a short time... the Throwback Raw episode wasn't too bad seeing the old colors... do it more, ratings will increase

  • @TheRawNerveShow Some of the oldschool events had taglines; SSeries '88 was "Teams of 5 Strive to Survive"; Slam '90 was 'The Heat Returns', nevertheless, they were all fun. Kinda funny to see the wrestlers walk to the ring without pyro and an entrance video :)

  • @fivebearrugs that's how the business works.

  • I didn't find this year's Summerslam too bad, although I only made a point watched it for The Nexus vs.WWE match.Needless to say,I didn't pay for it and the PPVS lately haven't been worth paying the money for.

  • It was ok when they added King of the Ring, it was an interesting idea, but then adding the horrible In Your House paperview, which turned into everything else, fucking awful.

  • vince mcmahon's days are numbered. He has lost his touch in attracting the fans interest in this company like he used to be able to do. I wonder what he will do once the wwe goes out of bussiness.

  • the word slam is too violent summerparty fits really well or summerspectacular like wrestlmania sounding but the slam i feel must go too violent and threatening a name lol

  • @nicedarren

Lol Rumble is to violent to.

  • What happened to 4 PPVs a year and only 4? Vince, you fucked up your own company just for us to fork over our hard earn money and watch crap. Why have a PPV every month?

  • @nicedarren What? Um, no, it wouldn't. I'm sorry, are you kidding me or what. "slam" is good just the way it is and fits well with the title of the event and a good word that describes this kind of genre in sports entertainment.

@DarthCipient PPV's these days are not really that boring. i always look forward to the PPV's :)

  • yeah summerparty wud b a gr8 name for summerslam as the word slam implies violence which i dont like

  • imo summerslam should b renamed summerparty the name summerslam upsets me well the word slam does party is much better i hope they change this one

  • @nicedarren stfu u pussy

  • I loved this as a kid BUT now I hear sweaty cheap old porn

  • Even the title belts mean jack shit today! I remember when the WWF title, Intercontinental title and Tag Team titles actually meant something back then. Lots of good wrestlers who proudly wore the belts. They all became stars. Nowadays the belts don't mean shit and some of the wrestlers who even win the titles now are unproven wrestlers. And I bet u anything that lots of their revenue offf DVD sales is due to the compilation of classic wrestling from the 80's and 90's. Not whats out now!

  • All the theme songs to each PPV back in those days were the best. From Royal Rumble to Wrestlemania to Summerslam to Survivor Series. No singing, no screaming, just straight up good music to hype up the event. Nowadays every theme associated to wrestling, whether its PPV's or regular weekly shows or even the wrestler's theme songs are horrible!

  • Soundin like Bon Jovi Shit. This brings back memories of my childhood.

  • That brings back awesome memories!!!!

  • WOW! 22 years since the lovely Elizabeth took her skirt off! The memories never die!

  • instant flashback to the days when summerslam was on the last monday in august and when they'd build up the matches in june and have the climax at the prime time special known as the summerslam spectaculer a nights before the event...

  • i love this song but the new song is not good

  • I wish I could agree with all of you that the classic themes are the best but i started watching Wrestling in 08 so I didnt really grow up with wrestling. (But trust me ive seen Almost all WCW and WWF, and ECW and other classics, im not a noob xD)

  • If the current versions of Summerslam still used this theme, it would get me just a little bit excited to see them, no matter how lame the cards and the matches might be, the very last time a Summerslam had good theme music was in 1998, if the 2001-2002 Summerslams had used this classic theme theme, they would had certainly replaced Summerslam 1992 as the best Summerslam ever

  • @tmbttes : After the garbage I just watched tonight (SS '10) even this awesome music couldn't have saved it. >:-(

  • @xpander2k I'm with you 100%...SummerSlam 2010 was so bad..it represented everything that is wrong with wrestling today. I was so pissed off and I tried to get a refund by my cable company refused. Lamest PPV ever.

  • @xraycat30

You obviously don't watch TNA...you don't know lame until see you a TNA PPV

  • wwespot is showing it live on 15th

  • classic themes were the best, fuck all this emo, punk, faggot, rock music

  • This is another theme they should bring back, and this time with vocals.

  • I dont know if everyone will agree with this, but it seems to me like all the theme songs (not just wrestling) that are the most remembered are the ones that were self produced or made specifically for that show. Now it seems like everyone is trying to use songs from mainstream top 40 and its just not the same. This theme got me HYPED for summerslam when I was younger, I couldnt even tell you what theme was used for last years summerslam... because its irrelevant.

  • @thewrestlingfan I can't even remember the song that was used for last month's Money in the Bank, but the theme music that WCW used for Wargames, Halloween Havoc, Slamboree, Starrcade etc will always play in my head forever, no matter if WCW has been dead for nearly 10 years now

  • vintage summerslam

  • man, those were also good times. i have 2010 theme song up and running with download link on my channel. feel the heat?

  • I would get hyped the fuck up if they used this song for next years summerslam!

  • I love the tagline every year, : Feel The Heat ". All they use as themes for PPV now are heavy metal music.

  • I now have this on my IPOD thanks

  • it's ssssssssssssummerslam!

  • Hell Yeah I loved this PPV Theme song.

  • Back in the day, PPVs seemed like major events. There were 4 months of buildup and you really felt like you missed something if you didn't see it. Now, PPVs are like buses. Miss one? No worries because there will be another one in 3 weeks.

  • This theme fucking RULES!!!!!

  • match made in hhhelllllllllllllllllllll

  • Back in the days they let the PPV hype build for months. It's unrealistic to expect them to go back to that, but I wish there weren't monthly PPVs. Maybe they could cut it down to bi-monthly?

  • This is just awesome. When wrestling was absolutely the SHIT!

  • Man, this was back when u had 4 ppvs, and they were much anticipated

  • Right! Now, they have a PPV each month AND FOR WHAT? What's the damn purpose for having one each month? And the buildup to them isn't as good or effective as the ones from way back! I remember Gene Okerlund would always say "For your (insert PPV here) report, i'm Gene Okerlund." You knew what was coming and the days just couldn't come fast enough! Now, you just hope the days would just leave 'cause these other PPV's make me sick!

  • @mcneal78 AMEN TO YOUR POST!

  • @mcneal78 Right on the money man. With only 4-5 PPVs, the shows in between were much more meaningful. Now you know a title change won't happen on TV

  • WOW THESE WAS THE DAYSSSS!!

  • Doesn't that sound like "Stroke Me" by Billy Squier in the beginning?

  • Another awesome WWF theme!

  • Its was good days

  • @Hampe3000 the best!

  • oh my god this is so cool

  • Just hearing this made me want to order the pay per views. These days the PPV's aren't worth 2 cents

  • @DJ8700 yup 2 cents would certainly be a waste of good hard earned money

  • tlc gonna be good ppv tonight wish they had these theme for it

  • this is the best summer slam theme

  • This is "Mean" Gene Okerlund in the WWF Event Center! If you haven't already, call your local cable provider and make sure you are a part of SummerSlam! Don't get locked out, place your order now!

  • @artddp:

    I'll take 12.

  • @artddp It goes a little bit like this Hi again everyone This is Mean Gene Okerlund with your Summerslam Report and the rest you had was right ...RIP Classic WWF

  • @artddp Good times, good times! And let's not forget that when u ordered the PPV, the "countdown show" would get u hyped too! It was broadcast 30 minutes before the event and those 30 minutes felt like an eternity as you counted down minute by minute, second by second!

  • @artddp

That phrase made everyone buy a WWF ppv back then. Now its just awful BLAHHHH

  • @artddp The perfect excuse to get on the phone and order it! I miss those days! Now, they have a PPV every month and there's no build up, no hype, nothing. It's so terrible u can't wait for them to be over! I miss when it was just the original 4: Royal Rumble, WrestleMania, SummerSlam, and the Survivor Series.

  • ahhh memories

  • you got that right

  • God this was my favorite as a kid, its kinda sexy sounding

  • this was my favorite theme music ever

  • Ya back than it was the BIG 4 Pay Per Views!! you COULDNT miss one! Even In Your House was awesome!! I love these old themes.

  • pretty heavy guitar riff lol

  • im sick of same matches at every ppv randy vs cena now we have hhh vs hbk vs cena why cant cena fight new people wwf was better the old days ruled the ppvs suck cause there to many it was shit that cena vs randy was a hour to long and boring christian is ecw champ and gets left off ppv and hes better than cena and randy put togther

  • The problem is simple. The WWE has PPV's every single month. They have premium matchups on Raw/Smackdown/ECW every night. By the time the PPV's come around, the matchups are so overdone and old that nobody cares anymore. Part of the problem is due to the old Monday Night Wars. WWE increased their PPV's per year from 5, to 7, to 10, then 12; just to compete with WCW. The result is what you see now. WWE needs to dial down the PPVs and reintroduce squash matches. Won't happen though due to money.

  • memories....

  • these old skool entrances really made you feel like you were about to watch something special. unlike the generic ppv's these days which might aswell be a monday night raw episode.

  • I think it's safe to say that vince has lost his touch when it comes to presenting sports entertainment......

  • amen

    money

beeing american doesn't help since he always needs more , more , more , he doesn't do it for the people anymore

  • @romans52345 Damn Straight.

  • @romans52345 you couldn't be anymore right. He is so lame now isn't he?

  • @17NJDevilsfan Yeah and i just read that Justin Bieber might be singing America The Beautiful at WM 27...

  • @romans52345 You serious???!!!!!!! It's no wonder I stopped being a fan of this 7 yrs ago. I pray it will not be too much longer before the wwe files for bankruptcy. If Mcmahon keeps making lame decisions after another like this, he will have no choice but to do that. Why? Because the fans stopped having interest.

  • Yea, also back in those days there were only a handful of PPVs a year, instead of monthly.

  • I loved this theme. They should have kept it.

  • i also like just having the curtain with the wwf sign and music

  • it's all about the money when it comes to Vince

  • wot a tune, miss these days.

  • "Hello everybody, I'm Mean Gene Okerlund with your SummerSlam report!!!". Great days where PPV's were hyped for about four months to the point where you could barely wait another moment to see the event. These days, PPV's are just blah...boring...dull. All the same.

  • I agree with you. The reports used to make you hyped up. Now they crank the ppv's out so fast it doesn't have any meaning.

  • You're right. What was the purpose of having a PPV EVERY SINGLE MONTH? NOTHING! It went from being a pure joy of entertainment to it just being purely about the $! I miss those days of the Original Four (Royal Rumble, WrestleMania, SummerSlam, and Survivor Series). These other PPV's with no-name titles with no weight to them were just garbage!

  • I agree with you. Back then the Pay-Per-Views were worth buying!!!!!

  • ita with you. why don't they bring back saturday night's main event and use that. it would be on free tv. i loved staying up at 11:30 at night. the pay per views back then meant something. they started and ended feuds as well as the greatest main events of all time.

  • They brought it back already

  • When?

  • In 2006. Theyve held several SNMEs since then on NBC but havent been a patch on the old stuff

  • i totally agree. it gave you somethin to look forward to. and when they had a main event. like hogan vs andre, they actuall waited unitll the ppv for them to fight. they only faced each other a couple of times in the year. now triple h faces cena and orton every week. the 4 main ppvs were the best, even when they added KOTR. although the IYH shows were great, i like the simplicity of the small house as the entry, now everystage/ppv looks the same, raw and wrestlemania, whats the difference?

  • Nice. Make sure you contact you local cable company right now to be apart of Summer Slam. Thats what Mean Gene would say. Cool to see real WWF fans.

  • @DarthCipient THAT'S RIGHT! And they're so boring that YOU CAN'T WAIT for them to be over! If we could go back to the original four PPV's (Royal Rumble, WrestleMania, SummerSlam, Survivor Series), it would be a whole lot better!

  • @DarthCipient whoever does the preshows to the ppvs now should pop in sometime before the show ends and do like a ppv report for those who don't follow much anymore or for those who really don't know what the hell is goin on

  • @DarthCipient AMEN TO THAT BROTHER.

  • @DarthCipient couldn't agree more

  • @DarthCipient amen brother!

  • @DarthCipient LOL JUST DID MEAN GENE LOL LOL !

  • Check out my highlight video of SummerSlam 1991. I used this theme.

  • this theme kicks ass man! Wrestling was the bomb in the early 90's!

  • awesome song, i miss the good old days of summer slam, its not like it use to be.

  • Summer's finally here! That means it time to get slammed!!!!

  • When i heard this theme, I thought back then,"The champion's in trouble! Shits gettin real!"

  • in the 90s was the best summerslam ever

  • it was cool

  • do mis the old days of wrestling, you had your heroes, and you cheered them, you had you villans and you booed them....god I mis those days

  • Hands down, the best Summerslam theme ever made! This not only reminds me of the best wrestling era IMO, but it also reminds me of the match made in heaven. One of the best, if not, the best Summerslam ever! I hear tracks like this and it surely brings me back to my childhood. WWF back then was the best in the business. Sure miss those good ol' days!

  • @bugzini81 Don't forget the jailhouse match - I laughed my @ss off!

  • @rcoley29

    Mountie: "Oh my god" LMAO!!!!!!!!!

  • Call me strange, but anytime I hear this song it reminds me of my smokin' hott 2nd grade teacher...lol.

  • i just listened to this tonite as i have summerslam 1991 on vhs...brings me right back to when i was in second grade...

  • "IT'S SSSSSUUUUUMMMMMMMMEEEEEERRRRRSSSSSLLLLAAAAAMMMMMM!!!!!" boy this takes me back

  • give back 1990 back anytime

  • I have Summerslam 1991 on vhs... I can remember Vince saying, " then nuptials turn into napaaaaaalms...and a match MADE IN HELLLLLLLLLLLLL!

  • I wanna know if we can hear this theme on the SummerSlam Anthology dvd set ? Or the WWE Edited again like the Royal Rumble Anthology set .

  • WWF is way better than WWE in everything (Wrestlers,Matches,Storylines,ect...) but wwe is still awsome

    oh and by the way

    TNA SUCKS

  • I know the people who composed this theme are getting (or were getting) some serious royalty checks for this! This is CLASSIC PRICELESS!

  • and not Ted Dibiase/Cody Rhodes priceless..or I should say worthless

  • wwf used to be so old skool in 80s and 90s it stayed the same but it got all modern in the 00s

  • WWF RULEZ

  • summerslam 90 spectrum in philadelphia I was there

  • lucky git!!!=)

  • Very Def Leppard

  • Definitely, it sounds like "Rocket" from Hysteria

  • where can i get the mp3 link for this?

  • I wish that WWE would at least trace back a little, and use a similar style of the logos that they used for the original WWE PPVs. Like the old WM,SVSR,SMSLM,and Royal Rumble logos. I know it might not be too enticing for a lot of fans today. But for a fan like, it'd be pretty cool

  • i totally agree.

  • Back in the early 90s, Wrestlemania and all of the other ppvs were cool. But my favorite was Summerslam. Especially the theme song.

  • Mania was (still is my all time fav), SummerSlam was next :) love SS

  • I still Summerslam '92 when I originally recorded, but I don't the proper now to upload it here, sometime I will.

  • These themes really made the old school PPVs REALLY sound like they meant something. It made them stand out from the rest of the programming.

  • Ofcourse!

  • Definitely and when they did the reports with mean gene...now wwe literally has three weeks to build matches before the next ppv...back in the day when there was the big 5 (with KOTR) they had maybe 3 MONTHS to build stories and let fans get into stories gradually...now adays, on raw, two
