  • 4. "High population in prison"- Have you seen how many prison ministries there are? Jesus commands us to preach to those in prison, so your stat just shows me they are doing their job! If you could find a stat showing religious preference at the time of incarceration, then maybe you'd have a point. So, sorry, fail on all points.

  • 3. "30% divorce rate"- Statistical anomaly, with so many people calling themselves Christian, bound to be a lot more in the sample, plus another study showed that those couples who actually are avid churchgoers and who live out Christianity in all aspects of their life, as opposed to those who just occupy a pew on Sunday or just on Christmas and Easter and could care less the rest of the time, the rate drops to about 3% (continued...)

  • A few problems with your stats: 1. "16% are nonreligious"- This could mean not going to a church or not wanting to call themselves religious due to negative connotations with that word, nonreligious does not equal atheist. 2. 93% of scientists are atheist- Some may not want to publicly admit this due to being ostracized or it could also be the same reason as #1 (continued...)

  • This is great for christians who think atheists cannot be moral. This will go in my favorites. Excellent job!

  • @AtheismIsCorrect

Thanks! We have many more too. Checkout the anti-religious videos we have on our mccainisthroughX channel if you like. Thanks again! Be Well!

  • You know, I just hate it when christians claim atheists are causing all the world's problems. Cite your sources or leave!

I've made a video predicting when religion dies out, though there must be something wrong with it as there are lots of dislikes.

  • Crime levels in american have been declining for the last 5 years, this coincides with the fastest growth of atheism ever seen in americas history.

  • @bombarderoazul

Right on the money!! Thanks for watching and for the great comment! Have a nice week as well.

  • @mccainisthrough This is very true. The latest statistics in Canada show a 44% increase rate in Atheists/Agnostics to a total level of 30% of the population in 2010. I'm Atheist, proud and I'm Canadian.

  • YAY this makes me so happy.

  • @leigh2490

It is great to know that Science and Reality are starting to replace childish superstition. Thanks for watching and commenting too!

  • what is the song??????

  • @bbdog141414

It's called "Clubbed To Death" - The Kurayamino mix. Thanks for watching and commenting too!

  • @mccainisthrough Thank you!

  • @bbdog141414

    You're welcome!

  • i do see the whole divorce thing being completly irrelevant considoring marriage is usually done in a primitive, religious ritualistic fashion

  • Who knows how this existence came to be, though the one thing that all of us athiests can agree on is that all organized religions are fraudulent.

  • Yes, it couldn't been said any better or more succinctly! Thanks for watching and commenting too!

  • i dont get why in the US Majority of people deny they are Atheists because they secularized Christmas.a true Christian would not celebrate the Christmas that people in the US celebrate usually.

  • The majority of America is christian, 66% in fact. They are NOT Atheists at all. Atheists do not believe in the childish myth and superstition of "personal god/s,' it's utterly stupid. Also, where 66% of America is christian 16% are Atheist, and U.S. prisons are 66% christians, but only POINT 2% Atheist. christians are criminals most of the time. Atheists believe in treating people as they themselves would be treated, where christians believe they're above the law, they aren't.

  • neithe do Most Americans believe in god.Christmas is no longer a Christian holiday because of Americans who most are Atheists in denial.

  • Most Americans believe in god/s, 66%, they are not Atheists, if they were, bush would never have been allowed into office, under any circumstances. We don't know how you're arriving at you conclusions, but we ourselves Are Not Atheists either, we just don't believe in personal god/s, at all, and we know 100% that there are no religious doctrines on Earth that have any connection whatsoever to how things came to be. We agree with Sam Harris' views. Check out his videos, you might agree too.

  • @mccainisthrough

but we ourselves Are Not Atheists either, we just don't believe in personal god/s

that's kind of the definition of the word, just because it has a negative sound doesn't mean we shouln't call ourselves something else.

someone who likes the same sex is a homosexual, someone who doesn't believe in god is an atheist. just because it has a negative sound shouldn't make us any less pround of what we are

  • @rasmAn2

Yes, we agree. The church created the term Atheist to be derogatory. There is no word for people who don't believe in Santa Claus, they are not SantAtheists, they are just sane. Thanks for having watched and the great comment too!

  • btw im a Atheist just like you.

  • We aren't exactly Atheists, but that's in the right area. We don't believe in personal god/s of any kind. No religions have a clue how things came to be, but Science Does, as you already know if you're an Atheist. We don't believe in the word Atheist so much because there is no god/s, so, there can be no opposition to what does not exist. Be Well!

  • I usually skip videos who has Ratings disabled but I do see how this one could be easily targeted by christan voting robot attacks.

It is not conclusive, but the numbers are good evidence between the relationship of mind-health and reality perception.

    Great Video Kudos!

  • The reason it's blocked is because of a YouTube glitch that disabled all of our video ratings about a week ago. We are going through them backwards and re-enabling ratings manually.

Thanks for watching and commenting too. Have a nice Turkey Day if you're American. If you're not , have a nice day!

  • All hail the slow death of Jesus in America

Lady Liberty will soon be free of the shackles of the Jesus freaks - you know the ones that believe that an old man forced insects to fuck on a big boat.

  • Yes. Thanks for watching and commenting too.

  • Incidentally, on the international website of nrc (dot) nl you can ready the following headline:

"Netherlands to close prisons for lack of criminals"

    Well, whaddaya know? :-D

  • Just as we would expect from a large group of bright Atheists. It's generally the religiously afflicted morons that cause violence and break laws.

  • Matur1n:

It's a simple fact that Atheists are better people. Look around. Saudi Arabia is one of the worst places on the Earth, because of religion. You can't compare N Korea, since it is a dictatorship. Compare the Vatican, where the pope goes to Africa and declares that "condoms are causing more AIDS," or America where religious zealots, who allege they are pro-life, attempt to murder abortion doctors. Religious people tend to be insane and self-righteous. It's a fact of life, and religion.

  • We've know for a while that the high population of religious people, the higher the crime rate. Religious fundies really need to stop blaming crime rates on atheists.

  • True. The more religious one becomes, the more irrational they become. They also tend to become self-righteous, and lose sight of reality.

  • I just read abook claiming the many christianities are the fastest growing religion.

Muslims keep telling me it is Islam.

Good to get the facts that show atheism is growing faster than either religion, and are better citizens to boot.

  • It is quite compelling data. Thanks for watching and commenting too!

  • "Good to get the facts that show atheism is growing faster than either religion"

His facts showed that in Europe and the US that atheism is growing, which is well known. Worldwide the trend is the opposite, primarily due to the opening up of the former Soviet bloc countries to Christianity and the Muslim religion. Both of which are making incredible inroads in those. That is a historical anomoly that can't really be repeated, unless something like that happens in China or North Korea.

  • mat -

My bad. Atheism is growing in the West.

But still we make better citizens.

  • Indeed!

  • Your reasoning is off the track. The statistics don't exaggerate the claims. Check out the research that's cited if you want all of the data. The fact is, religious people feel they are above the law, so to speak. They feel they have some knowledge that others don't possess, when it is in fact the opposite. There is absolutely no evidence of any god or gods, and to claim a singular religion has all the answers is not only dogmatic and idiotic, it enables self-righteousness. Atheists are better.

  • The Federal Bureau of Prisons does have statistics on religious affiliations of inmates.

The following are total numbers of inmates per religion category:

    Catholic 29267 39.164%

    Protestant 26162 35.008%

    Muslim 5435 7.273%

    American Indian 2408 3.222%

    Jewish 1325 1.773%

    Scientology 190 0.254%

    Atheist 156 0.209%

catholics are such good people, aren't they? LOL!

  • Those stats aren't from the Bureau of Prisons. That's from a real specific survey that was done by a religious group in the late 1990s, but was primarily publicized by the Humanist magazine. The purpose of the survey was to determine what religiious affiliation prisoners were in. So the question was something like "what religion are you?". So atheists obviously didn't answer it, except for a tiny few confused by the question. The survey guys themselves had a video a yr or so back explaining this

  • Interesting, but wrong.

"In 1997 the Federal Bureau of Prisons released the professed religious adherence rate of those in the U.S. Federal Prison system.

Christians make up about 80% of the American population AND prison population.

However, Atheists make up about 8% of the American population but only 0.2% of the prison population.

On the flip side, only about 1-3% of Americans are Muslim, but 7.2% of inmates are Muslim."

    Sorry, but facts trump spin.

  • In addition:

"The data came from Denise Golumbaski, who was a Research Analyst for the Federal Bureau of Prisons. The data was compiled from up-to-the-day figures on March 5th, 1997. I had telephoned Analyst Golumbaski to request the latest figures, and was told that Golumbaski was no longer employed there. The data was requested by Rod Swift, who passed it on to me for my web site. I later called the Federal Bureau of Prisons and confirmed that the data did in fact come from their database."

  • North Korea is a dictatorship where the leader is worshipped all the time, that's not atheism. Their leader is their "god". The same as the case for the USSR when Stalin ruled. Those 2 regimes didn't want religion not because they disliked it, but because they competed with it.

  • Except that they don't like, love, respect or worship their President, just as America reacted to bush.

  • North Korea is the most atheistic country on earth. Stalin killed people who asserted belief in God. Those are atheist countries. In no way does having a powerful leader make a coutry religious.

  • Continuisly worshipping of a person is NOT atheism by any stretch of your imagination. Communism itself is a dogma just like religion. The most atheistic countries in the world are Japan, Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Netherlands. These are all countries very high up on the UN list of the best countries in the world to live in.

  • Matur1n:

The problem with communism is that thugs use it as a pretense and an excuse for dictatorship. That has nothing to do with atheism. Rather it is replacing one dogmatic ideology with another, contrary to atheist freethought.

  • @Matur1n under stalin era the soviet union wasnt an athiest empire it was a STALIN empire. stalin enforced athiesm so there wouldnt be any believed higher authority than him.

  • Exactly right.

  • Matur1n:

Just because there is a correlation with former religiosity, does not mean there is a causal connection. That is just YOUR assumption.

BTW The problem with communism is that thugs use it as a pretense and an excuse for dictatorship. That has nothing to do with atheism. Rather it is replacing one dogmatic ideology with another, contrary to atheist freethought, and a lot like religion has done through the ages.

  • Great comments. Thanks for watching too.

  • No it is not. The point of the video is merely showing that the often heard claim that atheism will unevitably lead to a decline of moral values and thus more crime etc. simply is not true.

References to communism are moot, because in this case, it is a totalitarian elite imposing its will on a society. Having said that, there was a huge rise in crime rate after the fall of communism in Eastern Europe and Russia.

  • Great comment, and right on the mark. The individual you responded to first attempted to refute our video since he claimed our statistics didn't come from the Bureau of Prisons, but in fact, they did. We cited the source for this obviously ignorant person.

    Thanks for watching too.
