@bidefordrfc It is not illegal to stop at a crash that I've ever heard of and I've been if Fire/EMS for almost 30 years. You should not stop if you cannot or will not render aid. In Ohio it is against the law to enter a block where an emergency vehilcle has responded to a call, athough that is rarely enforced unless you end up blocking an emergency vehicle.
They should have waited for paramedics. What if she had broken bones or something else. Removing an injured person without knowing the full extent of their injuries is not good even if they ment well.

@richardperth2002 You're correct. Double yellow line means you can't cross the road from either side. Yellows line with gaps on one side means, turns can be made from that side only, and if double yellow lines you can cross lines from both sides.
However, if you look at the video, that's a local road with only a single lane on each side. Unfortunately that road itself is line paint error, since people have to cross the line to park in their driveways and etc.

When there is smoke in an accident, the best thing to do is try to get that person out. Smoke is usually followed by fire and then boom. You dont want to be there if it goes boom. Seen that done that.
If there is no danger of fire, the best thing is not move that person until emergency staff get there.

When there is smoke in an accident, the best thing to do is try to get that person out. Smoke is usually followed by fire and then boom. You dont want to be there if it goes boom. Seen that done that.
If there is no danger of fire, the best thing is not move that person until emergency staff get there.

@ondope2 and the world might end next week. You're presenting a hypothetical situation that didn't occur. This car was not on fire. If it ignited then I would say to remove them....but it wasn't. If the auto is stable then civilians are not to touch the patient. I've been to the scene of many accidents, the rule is to never remove them, if they have any neck or spinal injury then simply moving them to the side could cause paralysis or death. Wait for ALS or BLS to arrive.

@zkxv sadly they have the public npowadays believing that all bad accidents are the result of cellphones. This provides a false sense of security tha banning phone in cars will end this. My almost fatal accident was in 1985, no cellphones involved. I have had 2 friends die in accidents, no cells involved/. Let's not assume it's always a cellphone. Contrary to popular belief there really are shitty drivers out there that can't drive cellphone or not.

@Anglynn74 I drive a delivery van 8- 10 hours a day missy. Cell phones are a HUGE problem because people think they're so goddamn important they have to pick up a call no matter what. I've seen more stupid ass drivers in one month than you'll see in a lifetime. Don't tell me the truth, I KNOW what the truth is.

@studpuppy69: no, mate, you are only protected under the provision when there is an IMMINENT PERIL to loss of life or health. The law is not a blanket protection and is often misunderstood. For example, if I saw you lying in the rain and pick you up and drag you inside a warm restraunt and i snapped your neck in the process you can still sue me. The Good Samaritan law does not negate your responsibility to use common sense. You can even be charged criminally.

well, that would be up to the judges to decide....in the end you will still have to buy yourself a lawyer and live on pins and needles wondering if you will win your case or not. Whenever a law is inacted it is ALWAYS challenged. Politicians do this all the time....the write a law and its tested in real life. Thats why we have a consititution and why we follow common law. There is no such thing as a law that goes unchallenged. Thats enough for many people to stand down.

@theyoutubist1 you don't get me. car is in wrong lane, bus driver decides to move to opposing lane, does it, too. he goes left. car realizes wrongful situation, but reacts the wrong way: tries to pull to his lane but bus is already there. car is fully wrong (i think we state the same thing). not the bus drivers fault at all.
