Both have potential, both are AWD, both are turbo. Whomever picks the Mitsubishi or Subaru, that's all personal preference, either way, they are identical.

STi's feel faster cause of all the torque, the Evo IS faster most of the time and mod for mod. But there is ALWAYS someone with a faster car, just that the Evo will literally take most cars on the road when modded the right way. There's people running 11's with less than 1 grand in mods, most STi's only do that on big ass turbos and rebuilt engines
i really dont know why evo owners shit on STis so much? they are such a better car than the evo (this coming from a guy who owned 3 dsms). i have never been "smoked" by an evo in my STi. infact out of the probably 10 evos i have raced so far, i have only lost to 2 of them. they are both great cars. the evo just isnt quite as nice as the STi :)

@Masrider555 1st of all .. its not est sti.. is ESX and it runs 7.7 @174mph i think it probably does faster.. and plus that stm evo u mentioned.. only runs 10s..the sti makes 1200whp and yes pretty much a drag car.. but so its the ams evo.. im not hating on evos or anything. but subarus are capable of doing a lot. they just dont have the perfect gear ratios.. but they do lay down the power.. btw i have a built wrx.. and also working on getting a evo 8 by the end of this year

doug at topspeed is a GREAT tuner! I got tuned at topspeed and made some decent numbers 324whp and 375wtrq. I'm beaten quite a few stock turboed Evo 9's and I've lost to a couple too! ;)

stuff like this happens all the time now, the subaru tuners have finally figured out how to tune the sti's and wrx's with bigger turbo's without blowing them up.
the wrx's are the ones you want to watch out for, they make 290-310whp easy with cheap mods, and that tall five speed gearing is an ass kicking just waiting to happen.
Anymore info on these cars? How many pounds are they running ? How many HP & TQ are they making? Any problems with either of the cars that might have affected the outcome of race? Thanks, and great video!
p.s. what year is the STI? If it's an 07-08, then that GT35r finally has some time to spool and make power with those longer gears.
little late but both were really close boost wise,evo i know was all out and the sti still had spray.both were running good that night.where we live theres no awd dyno for a few hours but both are tuned by doug at top speed if that says anything
