Thanks, and you are so right! This was an early vid of mine. SInce then I have new software (Adobe Premiere) and a brand new Hi def camera. Much better videos now. Thanks for watching!
This is quite awesome my friend. My wife and I will be doing this for a history festival in England - however we will have to do this in two sections as ours is a full scale 6x4 table. They wanted us to do a 12x6 but I said a big fat no. What do you advise for doing this in two larger sections and refitting at the festival? We love the idea of packing in the newspaper and the 3D cardboarding. We have a stack of balsa wood in the shed - would that be sturdier? Good work anyway! Keep it up!
WOw! You have got to send me pics of the project. The re-fitting is tricky. I would make two complete shells so they each have strength. Once they were done patch them together with a single layer of plaster cloth then cut it on the seam. Bring with you some terrain materials so you can touch up the gap between the two where you set it up. The balsa wood is an option but not flexible. Just use it for the sides and internal stuff. Use cardboard for terrain so u can get interesting shapes.
If my first comment didnt make it, I apologize. This is great and easy to follow information which my sons and I will use to make our own diorama on Thermopylae!
Awesome!! Have fun with the diorama making!! I know I do, it really is a lot of fun, I enjoy it a lot. Next I am going to do either a hobbit home or a whole hobbit shire.
