  • The YouTube slideshow... we meet again...

  • 1 question what caused it?

  • What caused that to happen? Was it a support that failed? Thanks to the alert driver that nothing serious happened and disaster was avoided.

  • great vid there mk3pushpull,as for tara mines irish rail have to supply alternative transport to get there product to dublin port.

  • Via Drogheda or Belfast I say as the ore is too heavy for road transport!?

  • my enterprise north lags so much i drive the 201 ant the 071 in other countrys just so i can play it with out the lag what system are you using to run yours

  • it will go by road from tara mines to dublin port, the three laden trains a day is approximately 60 trucks trips.

  • It is going to affect the serviceing of Class 29000 commuter as some are cut off from Drogheda and Portlaoise is full!

  • does inchicore not have anything left to service them i know there was a team sent to connolly to do what they can with the 29s it is going to be chaos least im on the maynooth line lol

  • there are spare mk 3 sets. just bring them back into service.

  • is that microsoft train simulator in the middle of the video? where can i download the irish network and irish trains?

  • Yep its two add ons to Microsoft Train Simulator.Irish enterprise north and irish enterprise both made by making tracks!

  • made by you? would you be willing to upload them?

  • wat you want me to upload?

  • the addon that lets u drive irish trains and irish tracks

  • They are on a CD in which you ahve to buy!

  • This Navan line: is this a completely new planned line or an old abandoned line?

  • completly new. it has nothing to do with the freight line to tara mines

  • Thanks for the info, IrishRail!

  • There used to be a rail line there but it closed a long long time ago

  • Thanks for the reply, Commuter!

  • Some of the new line is on parts of the old line excepet the old line used to be linked at Navan Junction with the Navan to Drogheda line.Tara mines ws not open at this time.

  • As far as I´ve understood it from the comments of other users here....there was once an older line arcross the land.

    Right?

And if this line would be re-opened they could use it now as long as the bridge is damaged.

    Have I understood that right?

  • Ye from drogheda you would travel in direction of Navan then at Navan Juncition the far side of Navan Station you would branch off for Dublin(Connelly/Broadstone)

  • Sorry, but does that mean that I was right with my last reply to you?

  • ye you were

  • Would it be possible to rebuild the line?

In Germany we have often the problem, that they are building quickly houses on the ground of abandoned lines.

  • It would be possible and cheap €100 million compared to a motorway they are building on that roue which costs €650 million. Most of the line can be still seen with bridges and old station houses but the track has been taken up nearly 40 years ago.

  • The main problem would be, if they have build houses on the ground of the old line. Have they?

  • Only in some areas but this is not a problem because houses have been knocked for the constrruction of railways and roads in Ireland.

  • Thank you for all those infos.

If you get informations, if they really are building this new/old lind I would be thankfull for informations.

    Greetings

  • Alot of info on irish rail and transport 21 websites.

  • Alles klar! :)

  • I think the only trains on it now carry ore.

  • Ye and cement.Gypsen finisjed on that line form Kingscourt in 1994!

  • . I was reading about it Early today. How old is that concrete structure???. don't like concrete because the steel in side likes to rust and on can only estimate how long it will last. wee used to have a lot of problems with concrete structures build in the 50s and early 60s

  • Think there was an issue with the foundations due to the water flow i.e there was possible subsidence which comprimised the support structure.

  • the tracks are still there so they might as well keep on driving lol... anyway i was gonna go to belfast for a trp soon but it looks like i wont.... damn

  • This line will be closed for months and the rest of the bridge may collapse to

  • Very good video - they should open the Navan line

  • you're quick off the mark with this. You're right about the lack of an inland route.
