  • In the early part of my game I had a great flat serve. AFter learning how to put spin on the ball I never been able to get my flat serve back

  • Ha ha! Had some coaching and my serve is very flat and fast know! He misses out bringing your racket up to your shoulder to have a big swing when you serve! I am guessing he means flick when he says pronate!

  • This sounds good to me!been trying to flatten out my serve but is sooooo slicy!

  • I am chuffed that he is a southpaw! Me too!

  • line fault

  • this would be better if not widescreen that way we can see your hand all the way through

  • says the guy with the belly

  • hold 1 for shut the fuck up

  • hold 9 for masterbating!!!

  • lÖl_ï_fêÉl_sø_lôñëlY_töÐÁý

  • Forehand grip serves are for beginners continental grip is for pro's

  • Your a southpaw awesome, I am too xD

  • i cant see shit

  • What people don't realize is that at the recreational level, even lower level tournaments, you're better off hitting a well placed serve with spin as your first serve and a consistent second serve with spin. It's only the pros that are that good that they only double fault a few times per match, regardless of first serve percentage. I think it's better to hit a good second serve type first serve, so you rarely put yourself under too much pressure.

  • haha the guy at :54 looks like a dwarf

  • @johnnycastlez

Hey don't make fun of my friend like that, he can play tennis better than you -_-

  • why are you playing in the rain

  • @Golfman5000 Why not! Try living in Ireland!

  • @Golfman5000 haha i bet they only had one day to film and didn't have a choice cuz normally you cant play tennis in the rain at all

  • whenever i try to do this serve, i always end up in a slice serve... can any1 make a better explanation?

  • your racket isnt following the exactly way of the ball.. it is going a little to the right in the begining of the movement and ending more to the left of your body... careful not hit your legs... flat serve is dangerous for the shin.

  • @viktorml i agree, i already hit my legs before

  • I'm Linkin Park and I'm a certified nerd.

  • im nervous beause tennis tryouts are tomorrow and this isnt showing me anything!!

  • Is it ok to serve with a forehand grip? I serve really good with a forehand grip, really fast and acurate. Is it a major problem that i have to change or is it one of those things which it is ok if it feels comfortable. Let me know

  • If you are best in forehand grip serve, then it's no problem. But you can try it, maybe you're even better then.

  • depends on what grip you use

  • Flat serves are actually fairly common. They're best used only if you exert a lot of force for high speed hitting. In other words, flat serves are primarily power hits.

  • hello linking ward.

  • dont put on the brakes

  • thanks for advice

  • wow fatty

  • so is flat serve a commonly used serve? i mean it is just toss the ball high, eyes on the ball and make contact with the ball ?

  • yeah

and for your second server, people usually use spin or like slice kick american twist u know to keep it in

1st serve is usually flat and fast

    2nd server accurate slower

  • no its the top spin that is common

  • naw dude hit the ball in the center on flat serves and most other serves

  • ok this might sound stupid but i just started tennis, but when you serve are u suppose to hit with the center of the raquet??

  • naw u hit frame

  • Comment removed

  • as67as, hit with the center/the sweet spot. however, how you attack the ball is with the frame of your racket. hit low to high. come in at the ball from under the ball, hit the ball in the center, and follow through above the ball, this will brush the ball and create a top spin on the ball, forcing more pressure on the top of the ball, and that pressure difference from high to low will drag the ball back down to the court and with enough spin, will speed up when it hits the ground.

  • you are going to want to but you'll find it sort of difficult to hit center

just time your serve right along with a straight toss that slightly goes out of the court and hit with your body going into it

    or the real easy way

throw it and tap it in

    XD

  • in just use one grip for a flat and kick serve, the hammer grip?

  • We normally use flat serves to put a lot of power on them, so he needs to make clearer the point of the serve. We can Actually make a really powerfull flat serve with a kick serve grip, if we make the motion shorter we can generate a lot of power that can be pretty useful for flat serves.

  • I agree if you have the kick serve grip for a flat serve the flat serve is stronger

  • I hold the racquet with the grip for a kick serve but i can still hit flat lol its wierd i extend straight forward for flat and a upward angle for kick

  • im actually good at flat serve than i am with a normal spin serve lol

  • i live in Queens.. Lolz.. do you go to USTA where the Bille Jean King stadium is??.. nd btw how old are you?.. if you do go there than we might be able to play.. oo nd back spin is when the ball bounces downward after it hits the court... opposite of top spin!!

  • LOlz.. that gotta suck since flat hits are really dominating when done it at a exact moment!!... well, than try playing your game all around spins and cuts.. oo try backspin.. its really good.. if you live in NY, we might be able to practice with each other.. LOlz.. nd again what are the chances!!

  • dude i feel you pain... i can't do a flat serve either no matter how hard i try these days. i was able to do it before though.. LOlz.. btw, for flat forehand.. drive the ball through..

  • hey.... courts are still wet... great pointers for the serve though...:)

  • thxs is the kick serve and flat serve for both hands or they have to be a certain hand like kick serve right hand and flat serve left hand
