  • Photo at 1:35 is the South Branch. My mother's family's cottage is to the left, just beyond picture. We built the riffle (note passage through middle) so we could fall asleep and wake up to the sound of the river. Pix must be from the Ox Bow Club bridge. The boathouse is part of the George Mason Estate. Details suggest summer 1955; I was 15. The river and its surrounding forest was to me a truly holy place.
