I may be Korean, but that wasn't a fair play man. You really honestly need to put real tradition. I do like what you put for South Korea, but not fair. I love han bok, but since it cheated I go for both china and japan, but japan is a bit more cuter. Originally I would pick han bok cause I want one as a SK it is just not fair man,.
You need to find better pictures of the hanbok because honestly, many of the ones you chose aren't traditional and the picture quality is too dark. Also, why do you keep showing the pictures of the two girls holding signs, they're not really wearing a true hanbok.
@SamuraiTogo Kimono in its modern form is a derivative of Hanfu. The kimono you're talking about that came before do not look anything like it is today. Everything is a derivative of the Kanfuku, which is the Honfuk/Hanfu. Before the influence of Hanfu, people of Japan wore something like this: web.mit.edu/jpnet/kimono/history-jomon. html
people of the Asuka and Kofun periods likely wore clothing depicted in the Terra Cotta Haniwa were sculptures, which do not look like modern kimono
i bet the uploader is anti-korea. I AM SURE. the korean traditional clothes in the video are NOT traditional clothes -_- damn, other people might think why korean traditional clothes look so werid -_- especially, the girls who are on the stage, that clothes are NOT ABSOLUTELY.
@foreverROCforever japanese kimono was copied from China at the period of Tang, and korean hanbok was copied from China at period of Ming, its true that chinese hanfu nowadays are cheaper and korean ones are weird
In fact, each dynasty in China had their own architectural style of palace and design in costume, sadly though the palace would be demolished by the new established dynasty and forbidden the ancient people to wear the defeated dynasty 's costume. Therefore the latest Qing dynasty's costume wasn't the original costume.
@adrianna5282 I thought Qing was Manchu. Han, Tang, Song & Ming were only Chinese dynasties used Hanfu. Liao, Jin, Yuan & Qing were recorded as foreign dynasties of China, Notice Yuan & Qing also ruled non Chinese states too.
The kimono comes from 15th Century Korea. The Japanese adopted it, following which it fell out of fashion in Korea. Korean dress of time long past may also have been adapted by parts of China. China actually has had many more styles for women than shown here, in addition to those Chinese ethnic minorities' own dress.
@grubelsucht Actually the traditional korean and chinese dress have no influences on each other though there was a point in which the chinese dress hanfu was seen as trendy in korea. Neverthe less there was no fusion among the cultures in traditional dress. The japanese Kimono didnt have much influences from korean hanbok but it had heavy influence from the chinese hanfu. so there you have it :)
@aktf14 Thank you. My authoritative informant (a local museum display card beneath the kimono) states that the Koreans abandoned that style of dress Japanese call the kimono in the 15th Century and that Japanese adopted it from them. Other Korean "exports" to Japan include the swords and the tile roofs. I'd appreciate your reference. Intense nationalism of Asians often makes historical facts difficult to disentangle. Winners write history, etc.
@aktf14 You mean Tang Dynasty, both Silla & Heian periods. Actually, Kimono did got their heavy influences from Ancient China & Korea, forgot about little known Kudara (Baekje) & Mimana (Kaya) from Korea that went over to Japan? ancient Korean attires were influenced by Han Dynasty era, then they went separate way after Mongolian influence during 900 years ago.
@SamuraiTogo umm.. regardless of the fact that ur barking.. the logic of most people is hanbok has own unique looking compare to chinese one and Japanese one is almost same as Chinese one.
@hesitation24 I love the hanbok. :( It has a very modest and elegant look that i find very classy. I esp love the ones that have puffy skirts that gisaengs used to wear :)

I'm a little scared to ask about this, (read a few of the earlier comments) but what is it chinese, japanese and korean (expecially japanese, korean) has against each other?
@KingdomHeartsNinja Japan has a bit of an inferiority complex. They have an entire propaganda system devoted to promoting Japan and undermining Korea. I saw it in action when I visited Japan. It has nothing to do with any country being anyone's dog. Japan attempted to subjugate both Korea and China and now it's just a matter of personal pride. You Koreans are sick liar.
★Kimono has nothing to do with Korean Hanbuk.
★Japanese kimono existed before the birth of hanfu. So kimono does not derives from Chinese hanfu directly, but strongly affected by hanfu .
Japanese has improved kimono with mixing the elements of hanfu for more than 1000years. It has become kimono.
★So, kimono is a refined and more beautiful version of a mixture of ancient kimono and hanfu.
★Korean Hanbok is a dead copy of Chinese hanfu.

原来视频主不是中国人,晕死,当我没说啊,你能知道中国传统服饰不是旗袍,而是汉服,这已经不错了。。
SBTailand 3 years ago

Actually Qipao is a Manchurian dress. I prefer traditional Hanfu. But, some Qipao, known as China Dress in Korea, are really sexy.

yeah. the pics u chose r real chinese traditional dress. they'r not Qipao but Hanfu. Hanfu does be the orthodox dress of china, much much more traditional than Qipao. u've chosen the right dress but the description seems to have a little mistake.
