a hero of mine! I'll never forget having front row for Yes/Kansas in 2000 and yelling at Rich at stage left. He looked over, gave a big smile and waved! Kansas blew us away that night as they always do te umpteen times i've seen them. You Rule Rich!
Kansas is my favorite rock band as well, my oldest brother introduced me to their amazing music when I was very young ( he was years older than me) so they will be my favorite from cradle to grave, Literally! Dust in the wind has been and will be my favorite song for life. Peace Love and Rock N Roll Brianboyce!
I saw them at a concert in new york years ago and Riches rack just shut down... The whole bottom of the music just dropped out .... He walked behind it did something and boom he was back and running..
I just bought There's Know Place like Home. The best moment is Rich, Steve Morse and Kerry Livgren jamming on Down the Road during a sound check. The whole video Rocks and Rich's playing is better than ever. Rock on Kansas!
he's a great guitarist because of how his tone complements the big, eclectic multi-instrumental sound of the band. He's not a flashy player, just someone who really knows what he's doing, and that always sounds the best.
I remember seeing them out in long island New york about 10 years ago and Rich's rack failed. It ended up being his wire to his guitar and when he stopped playing all of this thick kansas sound just left.
That night I saw and heard how much this man's sound is so important to Kansas.
He appears to have lost a tremendous amount of weight since 15 or 20 years ago.

That is a very interesting video.....
Never forget the night his rack glitched .... The whole Kansas sound was gone for about a minute ....
He went behind his rack touched a wire and boom... He was off and running again...
Great video you have made here!
