Adorable. As an owner of a male and female, I know how wonderful they can be as pets. Kind of like an overgrown cat with an attitude, but when they act cute, they are just impossible to resist an "ooooooh, that is sooooo cute!

Yes, they have a rep for being unpredictable, but a responsible owner needs to be aware. In Asia they are considered as potentially dangerous as pitbulls. My point? People need to know what they are getting into, before they get a chow...

I love Chows, I love pitbulls and Akitas. I believe any powerful dog breed must be well socialized, and the owner must establish dominance once that is done the dogs behavior will be acceptable. I had a chow for 11 years and moved, he was to old to take with me but he has a good home. And is a theraputic dog for teens with emontional and behavioral problems.

we have had two chows one male and one female the female pasted away 3 years ago she was very relaxed, never typed to bite. after she passed away we got aslan our male who is very aggresive but sweet, he has bitten a few times and yes it hurt. but after he's put out side for some time he comes to lick it better. hes a very agggresive and PROTECTIVE! maybe over protective a little.

We live on a farm. We've never taught our Chow to guard. However, she has taken it upon herself to check things out. She has never tried to bite. I love this! I have a Chow Chow that is just like your cream-colored one and it is the most precious puppy I've ever had. He is the most loyal dog and follows me everywhere. He is heart-broken when I leave for work and jumps so high when I get home. I have a Samoyed and a Great Pyrennees too which I ADORE but my Chow Chow is the most loyal and loving.
