A great film, but very inacurate in its depiction. For a start, both Chard and Bromhead wore full beards, as was the common practice at that time. Also, the uniforms are no2's from a later date and would not have been worn on campaghn,as shown here.Bromhead was also as deaf as a post and had to use an ear trumpet, that would have spoilt the image that was being portrayed somewhat.The 24th did not become predominatly welsh until after the zulu war.It only recruited on the Welsh border until then.
Edited out the intro music, thought people would rather get to the film rather than watching the opening titles etc. I did include most of the credits in part 5.
@CJTReviews love the movie I know that this movi is partly based on truth, but how much of the movie is historical fact and how much is hollywood. I have the movie and loved the action and everything was just curious about the history is all. thanks.

The biggest/most glaring issue, as I see it, is that Mr. Whit had an (infant, I think) daughter and a wife, nd neither were at the mission station at the time of the battle. Further Mr. Whit was, in reality, not a pacifist and fully supported the decision to stay and fight. He left to go be with his wife and daughter, not because he was drunk and forced to leave.
Poor man only wanted to make soup and make himself a career as a chief.
