The turbo diesel is full of torque and performs very well. It is fuel efficient when needed and outlasts the gas engines. Just my opinion.

a great opportunity missed by VW,the chassis could easily handle a 6 cylinder engine and much more horsepower.

I think there are plans to drop a more powerful engine into it... The MkV golf had the R32 form as its top of the line model, I think they're going to go down a similar route with a more sporty Scirocco, but we'll all have to wait and see. Hope they do though!

CroELiteLife, my friend, although you are right, you must understand that these days, you got Audi parts in VW, vice versa, they safe a lot of money by making interiors of car's alike. So they create a main good looking interior and make minor changes, like the interior door handles etc in the scirocco. Even Maseratti is all alike inside, BMW, Mercedes, look at Japanese cars, it is all alike these days, However, I bought this car yesterday , I fell in love with it, a different VW !

i can't put the two cars in comparison because:

1.Leon is a car capable of conveying 5 persons, whereas this scirocco can take two (and two losers behind)

2.Leon has more radical design, just have the two cars together and then ask even your mam...

3.Leon Cupra 2TSI (with 240hp)is faster and cheaper than to buy and maintain and beleive it or not is quite faster than this VW crap

Go and buy a Leon then, what can i say? depends on everyone's needs .. but don't tell me about radical design on the Leon =)) It looks like my grandpa`s car on the outside and like an alien from planet Xaxor on the inside. It's a no-brainer that the new Scirocco is more appealing than any Leon, but if you need to carry 2 children around probably you're better off with the Leon. The Scirocco is for you and your woman only ;)
