What kind of horn does he pick up at around 1:09? Please and thanks! Obviously in the beginning it was a trumpet, but when he picked up the other horn, I didn't know what it was.
About 20 years ago Phil came to Yale Univ campus near me. There are no words to express..none, the tangible presense of the Lord that was there that night. It wasnt a concert....it was a small sampling of what Heaven will be. All of His people worshiping Him in unison. It is decades later, but that night has never left me....once you have been in His direct presence, you walk away never the same. Phil, thank you for your obedience to God in using your talents
Trust me when i say am yet see anyone touch my heart through his worship to God as this beloved Spirit filled or should i say Spirit Philed Driscoll. It's amazing how he carries one right to the throne of God and makes you to acknowledge the splendor of Gods' majesty.
Phil Driscoll, I exalt Thee, the album, as well...THE MOST AMAZING AND ANOINTED WORSHIP ALBUM EVER!!!! This album totally changed my life in the early early 80's. God's presence is.........
I can still remember the first time I heard this sitting with my cousin Dale in his car outside my my Grandmother's house at Family Reunion in Princeton, NC It still blesses me to this day!
This is so beautiful, it is so soothing. I have been going through alot of things and I listen to this song and it feels like Jesus just comes and wraps his loving arms around me and all of my troubles just disappear. Thank you Phil for being obedient to the Lord and using your talent for the Lord. The music is very healing because of the annoiting that is on your music and life. All glory and praise to the Lord.
I got to see him play this— and many other worship songs— in person. It was an incredible worship experience. Most of the audience stood and worshipped through most of the time! God bless the man, the message and the music! Thanks for the posting.
Can someone please help me find Phil Driscoll's rendition of "Oh Come All Ye Faithful' (ye lovers come sing
A cry from the mountains, a call to come worship your coming King....Hallelujah, let every creature sing hallelujah) i have been searching the internet for the CD of that song but not able to find it. it was originally written by Rich Mullins and Phil recorded it with a choir and his trumpet in the mid 80's your trumpet. please help me someone.
One of the most anointed singers and trumpet players in Christian music...I get chills every time I listen to Phil, and never get tired of hearing him play and sing! God bless you, Phil!
I saw Phil at a concert. There is no doubt, he sings from the heart hat will touch you.God bless you Phil and give you strength to continue using your God given talent.
Mr. Driscoll is his own man and does not need to copy anyone.............he is just himself worthy of God as are all of us, even those who take the time to criticize someone for their voice, hair and whatever else it is that pongespob can come up with.

I wish that I knew how to arrange a ministy concert with Phil driscol. I was with him in ministry at Fishnet in front royao virgininia many years ago and still remember the Holy Spirit decending upon millions of people at the same time. My life has been greatly enhanced thru his ministry.
Phil played this in 1987, in the church on the rock in tx. The program was called Power 87. He will never know what an influnce he had in my life because of that performance. I love him and his dedication to God, may God contenue to bless him. Thanks for posting this. God bless you
hey, i saw him in fresno ca, that year (87). It was awesome, it sure brings back memories and how time flies! Well God bless you and thanks for your post.
A 4-Valve Flugel horn?!?! Never seen that before. He used it as an alternate low-D fingering in the video. I assume it's used in lieu of playing the normal 1-3 valve low D and kicking out the 3rd valve slide so it's not sharp. How bout them apples...
Truly, Phil Driscoll is an Artist Light years beyond his time.. This song takes me back to when i first saw Jesus up on the cross, shedding his precious blooe for a lost world. I play trumpet also and remember back in the 80's playing this song during worship service with a brother and sister from my home church. Wow!! There is nothing that will ever compare to the presence of the Almighty God, when he inhabits the praises of his people. Phil, we will "Sound the trumpet" on that day, together.
Mr. Driscoll if you ever read this I want you to know that your music has blessed my life since I was a child. My big secret growing up was hiding my tape recorder under my pillow at night to listen to this song. It has brought more peace, tears and contentment than you know. Of all the praise and worship songs I have loved through the years there is just something about this one. Thank you for sharing your talent.

The second horn is a 4 piston Bb Flugelhorn. The 4th piston is to be able to play also in the low register, below the limit of the trumpet.

Mr. Driscoll won a Grammy for this song around 83/84 or 85 and I suspect that this song is from around that time frame as was his hair.
