  • The changed intro for "Slimer! ...and Friends" -Spinnoff ! =) ...and "No!" - it is NOT called "Slimer And The Real Ghostbusters" ! That´s why they changed the intro for the slimer-spinnoff.series ;-)

  • slimer that cute fat fuck

  • I remember this intro...

Does that mean I'm old? Q_Q

  • This wasn't the regular intro, but somehow I remember this anyway...was it only in the first season maybe?

  • @gljfefe no this was when slimer became more popular and it was a spin off series called slimer and the real ghostbusters. This show circled a little bit more around slimer and his adventures instead of the ghostbusters

  • SLIMER IS A TRATER TO HIS KIND! :)

  • JUST STRAPED ON MY CUSTOM PROTON PACK TODAY FOR FUN AND A PHOTO SHOOT

  • Smiler: LUIGI! JUMP!

  • GO!

  • YEAH!!!!

  • EXELENT,COME ON LET REMAKE THE REAL GHOST BUSTERS PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE

  • what is that demon sound effect called at 0:06, I have been trying to find it's name but I don't know what it's called?

  • @1Morey It's called "Devil Laugh." It located on a commercial sound effects library called, "Hollywood Edge: The Premiere Edition 01"

  • That's for Slimer and the Real Ghostbusters, a related, but seperate show.

  • Yeah this really was the start of the rapid downward spiral for all things ghostbusters. This really pissed on the show, the toy line did those awful fright features figures, not to mention ridiculous villans / vehicles. Shame. All about money.

  • I see these old cartoons and think back to my youth.

  • I have heard of this version of the before. But I like the other version better.

  • Jumped the shark? Safe to say that they pole vaulted over the damn thing. This was tragic.

  • @k1scholar

    While wearing a jet pack.

  • they jumped the shark in this season

  • This was sparked the ending of a classic cartoon

  • I don't remember this extended intro of Slimer and the Real Ghostbusters.

  • It was so cute! Slimer was cute!!!

  • i only have 900 channles :P

  • This intro was made when the actual cartoon was losing steam. They played this on saturday mornings and gave slimer more of a leading role, with stories more centralized around him. Personally I liked the older ones the most.

  • @ffxiarcadius

I think another part of the problem was the fact that, though it had one title, they were more or less doing two different versions for the same show - the more kid-friendly ABC version, and the after-school syndicated version, which could include things like Cthulu and Ragnarok.

  • oh man, anyone else might think this is weird but,i think Slimer is adorable in the cartoon and so was stay puft, but in the movie they were'nt

  • i was'nt born at those times but this is awesome i swear

  • My word! The memories! ^^

  • this is not extended into, this is the intro for Slimer and The Real Ghostbusters.

  • yeah it came in later seasons, i remember it on saturday mornings

  • Oh, god... is that some Terror Dog I see? They weren't in the series where they?

  • i remember them being in one episode of TRG but it's been way too long

  • kids cartoons were so much better back in the day!!!

  • @SnakeDeShazer Ah the golden age myth, but Ghostbusters the TV show was a great show.

  • It sounded like Slimer said "Luigi! Jump!" at 0:45.

  • He did say that. :P

  • @domialad

    Probably because he did.

  • @domialad He did.He also said "Ghostbusters!" at 1:01.

  • @domialad i thinked that too!!

  • @domialad dude smlier did say luigi jump

  • @domialad That is exactly what slimer said ;-)

  • @ThaBiggBoss Eeyup, but I am quite aware after two years...

  • @domialad he did.

  • Should it scare me that I automatically chanted "After these messages ... we'll be right back!" after the video finished?

  • i miss these days

  • wu haw!

  • this vid could give someone a epileptic fit and it has lots of screaming! (:-o

  • Still, this is an awesome remix. I'd like to hear a full version of it.

  • at 00:34 is is the Demon Dog from the first movie?

  • Yes.

  • Jaguar4u2: to quote the Nostalgia Critic:

    "Zuul, Motherf*cker, Zuul!"

Yes, it is. Unless it's the Keymaster, Vince Clortho. They look the same.

  • This really rocks! I really like this a lot! i also really love the cartoon! Great job on this one big time,5 Gold Stars!!

  • Make it 10 gold stars!!!

  • you said it! !0 Gold Stars is the word!

  • They should have sucked Slimmer in the beginning and carried on the episode

  • slimer is an annoying attention hog

  • i have a few seasons of GhostBusters on VHS and watch dem often dis was da greatiest cartoon when i was growning up GhostBusters 4 life

  • The Ghostbusters are the best!!!!!!!

  • Cool!

  • The fat guy in the beginning, his name is Dweeb. He's a loser scientist who has no life and is determined to catch Slimer in order to put the Ghostbusters out of business.

But that will never happen because the Ghostbusters are forever!!!

  • I never even knew of this re-branded series until a few weeks ago. Why did they re-brand the show - was it because of the Venkman voice actor leaving?

  • no because of slimer being an bigger part of the series

  • I thought he was already a large part of the original series and did not need enlarging.

  • ya mean the end credits theme, if so typ in ghostbusters end credits theme or real ghostbusters end credits

  • Yeah I meant end credits.

Sorry I got a little ahead of myself there.

  • This music end credits but the footage used was the original season one intro.

  • Does anyone have the ending theme where they use the original intro footage but the heavier metal music from this intro???

    I thought that rocked.

I agree with all who said the show had jumped the shark when it got more "kiddy kiddy"

The upcoming PS3 video game should be apology enough

  • slimers cute lil voice lol ;D

  • This is when ghostbusters starting going downhill in my opinion. Making slimer the main star was not only dumb but not very appealing either. Catchy theme song though.

  • The guys behind the show wanted to bring in a younger target audience.

  • Yeah, that's pretty much what killed the series. A shame really, although this is actually a pretty decent rendition of the theme song.

  • well killing the series was more down to age and the voice actors leaving. a huge confidence knock. they were also running out of ideas.ghostbusters extreme followed thi, but was only created to fill in a few holes they made in the origional along the way and lay the final nail in the coffin.

extreme also looked more like a punk rap show and that did not reflect well with veiwers.

there wont be a return of the ghostbusters. its dead.forever.

  • True, changing/losing voice actors & just plain getting older also hurt the show. And Extreme Ghostbusters... UGH that was unpleasant.

    RIP: Ghostbusters

  • We'll see when the new video game comes out if Ghostbusters is dead or not. There seems to be a lot of people waiting for that.

  • Yup... I remember this is when these cartoons got REALLY good. Not just its Anime-ish intro.

  • fai rirhr sul i muschill!!!!1

  • two questions - what year is this from & was this even shown in Britain?

(used to love watch the real Ghostbusters on Citv (iirc) - don't remember this version at all

  • This was shown during Ghost Train (ooh-ahh) (and also on CITV), but only the main programme not the Slimer cartoons. To be honest, dumbing down the show was a major disappointment, not to mention changing the voices.

  • jend80:

It's from 1990. This intro was made for the 1988 season, but they changed the theme music in 1990 and played it over the same intro scenes they'd been using already.

  • Oh yea they tried to spin it off with the slimer episodes and side characters. If memory serves the bellhop was the stereo typical "surfer dude". Dont recall to much on the others, But Prof Dweeb was always trying to catch slimer.

  • Does anybody have the end titles for the season this intro comes from?

  • who's the guy with the proton pack and the pooch?

  • That's Professor Dweeb, a character from those goofy "Slimer!" cartoons that they added in the fourth season. (That's also where the cat, the bellhop, the chef, and the ice-cream lady come from)

This opening was the only time you see the goofy cartoony world of "Slimer" cross into the normal Ghostbusters world, except for Dweeb appearing in a couple of Ghostbusters stories toward the end. Dumb move.

  • They even got a Terror Dog in this intro.

This from the days when they had those Slimer shorts, not very well-loved, but it was funny that one of them opened with "This is the naked city, what, we can't say 'naked' in a cartoon? Allright, then. This the scantily-clad city. There are a million stories here, this only one of the dumber ones."

  • that was intense

  • The other intro was way better.

  • i never really liked this music because i always thought the old music was better

  • well beyond all discussions... I think that this series was sometimes not really for kids :D some scenes were like "Damn... this one needs a pg rating"

but it was great !! I love my childhood !!!

  • They have a pet Slimer? ?_?

  • This animation was top notch for the time. Gosh this takes me back to some GREAT times! :-)

  • I do agree that they had to replace the aging background music by season6.Some of that new background music you could also hear in Captain Planet in the first seasons some of it sounded eerrie.I wish that the theme song was from Extreme Ghostbusters instead of that goofy one that sounded like "ghostbusters song had the runs."

  • Yeah...much as I liked Shuki Levy's background music, it probably was time to replace it after 5 seasons. It's just that the new music was dull. There was nothing stirring about it.

This version of the theme was kind of a cool jolt, though.

  • I actualy hate this version, way too damn goofy, the old one sounded way better.

They were trying too hard to apeal to younger kids and the series went to hell at that point.

I loved extreme ghostbuster theme.. sad that series did not last long :(

  • READ CAREFULLY THESE WORDS! total reason.... these one sucks.... The old one was simply wonderful!!!!

  • Yeah but even the animation for that opening was top notch. ahhahahah! I remember the show was split; i THINK slimer has his own little shorts which explain the goofiness. and does anybody remember how jeanine's appearance kept on changing between seasons!? i remember she had 4-5 different designs.

  • k1bagami: Re: Janine's changing appearance.

Search for "Janine, You've Changed." All shall come clear.

  • I actually remember this one, it was towards the end of the last season.

  • I wonder what the full version of this sounds like? I never heard the extended version let alone the full version

  • I have been searching for this and I've found it! I remember this show from my childhood days. Awesome. Thanks!
