The Stranglers?!?!? Never thought I'd hear anyone mention them over here. I grew up in England from 74-83 and saw the Stranglers many times. Just awesome shows, always tight sounding with great crowds. Their first five albums; Rattus Norvegicus, No More Heroes, Black & White, The Raven and Meninblack are the Stranglers gospel. Timeless, raw and powerful. I remember when The Police came on the scene, NME's headline was, "The Police! Bigger Than The Stranglers???".

As a Portland Oregon native I absoultely love this show, and not because it takes place in my hometown, but because it makes fun of my hometown, and it pulls no punches. We seem to be awash with post grunge post punk hipsters, who really tend to be pretentious elitist snobs, and a group ripe for parody. Its a fresh, intelligent, and quirky in an honest way look at Pacific Northwest urban culture.

Oh and I love Sleater-Kinney.
