  • effective one day batsman as well

  • It breaks my heart to notice how innocuous Pollock had become after 2001 or so. Yes, he was still super-accurate and very economical, but nowhere close to the penetrative bowler he was in the 90s. Loss of pace and zip off the track was a huge handicap for him, I feel.

There were a lot of times he played second fiddle to men like Ntini and Nel. Sometimes even to Langeveldt.

Still a very useful 3rd/4th bowler and a superb bowling all-rounder for his side.

  • Great batting

  • i love watching him and matthew hayden bat when i was younger as i thought from 2002 - 2005 thet were the best openers around

  • Trescothick was a delight to watch in full flow..

Too bad he had to retire so soon. Still scores bundles in domestic games doesn't he?

  • just had all the shots. consistent with his wagon wheel. such an underrated player

  • fine batting

  • One of the greatest innings for England I've ever seen.

  • Imagine England's batting line-up he was still playing. It is pretty useful as it is but the pace at which he scores would make it even more formidable.

  • thanks for this he was wonderful to watch, pity he is suffering from depression coz he wud have played at least 100 test.

  • Brilliant !!! Thanks rob !

  • what a stylish batsman....his brish 50s in Ashes05 always gave England upper hand..
