This playthrough has my ideal start! Looks so promising! I see there are over TWO HUNDRED videos for it- hopefully a lot of entertainment awaits :D. Thanks for keeping the Might and Magic series alive mate- I love it a lot, and works like this will bring it to more people's attention :D.
The Vampire at the beginning is only useful for pumping points into Disarm Trap, and that's only until you manage to obtain a certain Murmurwoods hireling who is useful for so much more... As for Devlin, hang onto him and Fredrick (once you get him).
If you need help with this game, RPGenie, let me know. I've beaten it many times over and still enjoy playing it... Just like MM7.
Looking forward to seeing more. Keep up the good work, RPGenie.
Also, an uneducated question. If Dark Magic is that kick ass, why didn't you toss a few points in it to boost the mastery level of it? I realize you can't cast a ton of the spells right now, but that would make it so that when you did have to cast them, you'd get greater effect/longer duration for the cost, right?
Since Dark Magic costs a shitload of MP..he's lucky to get 1 or 2 castings out of it right now. Firebolt costs less MP and packs a decent punch... and since the monsters on the island are stronger than him, those 6-10+ firebolts are gona be more useful than the 1-4 dark magic castings.
Least I beleive that's the thought process behind it.
Actually, using Toxic Cloud (One of Devlin's starting Dark spells) three times as opposed to continued weak Firebolts is much more effective. Toxic Cloud is a good friend until you get Dragon Breath (or just a dragon). Even then, it's still damn good.
Toxic cloud outright kills one target. Firebolt critically injures a target and stops it. It is also faster than an arrow. Stop the target and have the three other party members finish it with arrows.
Later on I will use Toxic cloud, but not untill devlin's about level 10 probably.
This is the kind of stuff you SHOULD spoil (as opposed to a certain Garotte Gorge hireling... Very minor details that help you briefly. Things like that.
But as Ozbil says, there's a well near the Adventurer's Inn that will give you 1,000 gold twice (2k total), if your character has at least 15 Luck and have less than 100 gold. If you don't have the Luck, there's another well near Talimere's that gives you up to 16 or 17 Luck for any character, even/odd number dependant.

Funny how the shields where your party members will be are the same as those in HoMM4, player team standards.

wow..hirelings have stories? I wonder if that eventually translates into quests later on (like in Elizabeth's case..).
Speaking of vampires..how come Liz isnt combusting into flame in that daytime sun? XD
ChazDragoon 3 years ago
No quests, and the combusting is irrelevant.

That's right, I could not give the exact place, because it's been a while when I last played this game.

For some reason I just love this kind of games. I enjoyed liked MM7 alot and this one looks just as great. Does this run on XP?
Bastiest 3 years ago
Yeah, just make sure you have mok's unnofficial patch, AND that you also set it to run in compatability for windows 98.
