  • when I reach the final stage, "holy shit, this is not what I'm hoping for! :O", and it was just level 0 dammit.. T^T

  • GOD, the memories! Back then games were made for real players, not whiny kids. They offered real challenge and playing them was always fun. Look at this. This is may be a little overkill but can you imagine a similar game to this now? With all the atmosphere, sound effects, puzzles, flow, and fun? I wish they tried to make good games instead of just good looking games. Imagine IQ in Unreal Engine!

  • @Jokeritu How about Q.U.B.E.? It's a cool puzzle game and it runs in unreal engine

  • @traackmaniac qube is not even challenging. Isn't atmospheric, very short, and not much fun to play.

Only similarity is that they both have cubes and that's all. Same can be said for minecraft.

    So, not really.

  • @Jokeritu Well I haven't finished playing qube yet so I can't say if the game is challenging. And if you want a REAL challenge, go play Dark Souls on the PS3.

  • Oh god, A MAN LOST IN TETRIS!

  • Wow.. I've beaten this game a thousand times on PS1 and have never seen that ending cinematic. It always just ended with him floating along in space on one cube.. I always thought "Wow, how depressing.. he just solved all those puzzles and is now doomed to eternity alone on a single cube in space."

  • Man it looks so awesome but i neverd understood the freakin demo xd

  • i used to love this game, its like 32 bit crack cocaine, so addictive, i would love to get my hands on another copy of this

  • So the Big Bang Theory was a bunch of bull, wasn't it?

  • I used to think that little man was an actual fully rendered human.

  • Ahh this brings back memories! I never had the full game at the time but I was always playing the demo! Will have to grab it now I think. :p

  • @DavidLeeThrower i remember playing it when i was younger with my sister we used to suck at it lol :P decided to download it now and try it

  • The Forbidden Cubes are the Creepers.

  • Point Get? Really?

  • PERVERT!

  • sooo, the universe was created because a man made blocks fall off of one another?

  • Since I found out all the text in this game is written in English, I've decided to buy both of these games off either the Honk Kong or Japanese PSN

  • wow i never got to see the ending before!! Thank god for YouTube lol

Does anyone know if there are other games like Kurushi around. I acually found a pretty good one for iPad the other day.

Its called Hope's Quest Look for it in the iPad app store its a pretty sweet I.Q like game :)

I just wish people made more of these kind of games

  • @Alucard52 try "blocks that matter" available on steam and xblig

  • the music at 4:16 is from silent hill 1

  • @Tlittleman117 If the music really is the same, then the music from Silent Hill 1 is from Intelligent Qube and not the other way around... because this game came out almost 3 years before the Silent Hill series.

  • one word: fuckin badass

  • awesome man fantastic good play...^^

  • i didnt get it as a kid. maybe i wouldnt get even now, because i still got no idea whats the point of all the cubes. i remember i was scared to play this game, although i was thrilled, so i repeated my fails at the first stage again and again. i had the same feeling like when i was watching cube the movie. just fascinated.

  • @zskjvbkjsdk Every single cube was a building block for the universe, and you were needed to acquire those blocks needed.

  • @siikaismo oh thanks, all those years this is first time somene told me a theory. so every single block stands for a piece of the universe < simply amazing, but anyway my left brain side beats the right side and i feel imcompetent to be using the word "logical". cause i was always better at fighting games.

  • I played the demo disc 1 version for ages, then when I finally got the real game I was real pissed off with the music... anyone else have this happen to them??!!?? The demo version was so much darker without music.......!

  • @dipregistered hellz yeah! Demo disc ftw!

  • @dipregistered Exactly the same for me! That music scared the shit out of me xD

  • @dipregistered yup, the music ruined it xD

  • @dipregistered I know what you mean.

  • @dipregistered Couldn't agree more. I actually thought that the music was edited into this video -- and wondering why, at the same time. The absence of music made this game both terrifying and enigmatic.

  • I remember playing this game on my sister's console! :-)

  • How the hell do you play this game?

  • i feel so cheap in this game since i pause before every level

  • Whoa. trippy ending.

  • That's quite an I.Q you got.

  • that ending makes no sense

  • @xecut10n3r It doesn't have to, it's from Japan.

  • It's possible to get 2 single cubes to vanish on one turn if your fast enough. This allowed for some really high scores. That was high level play though. Too bad this person didn't show this.

  • I thought it was related to Practical Intelligence Quotient.

  • Thumbs up if this game makes no sense to you

  • @TableEnMousse well if it doesnt. then does tetris make sense to you? the point of this game is to strengthen your brain in puzzle tactics. like any other puzzle game? fuckin moron..

  • @TableEnMousse this is one of the most addicting games i have ever played as a kid

  • @devistheone1 I'm 15 and I've loved this game and I love it even today ^^

  • @TableEnMousse dam youngens

  • @TableEnMousse What's so hard to understand about blowing up blocks?

  • 1998 this game //I love it!

  • killed itt.. fag

  • CONFRONT THAT SOMETHING ... ... ... face to face.

  • Isn't it funny that this game is called Kurushi in england but Intelligent Qube in Japan?

  • i miss playing it omg

  • So is 546 the highest you can get your IQ

  • @parsleysprigs I think he got an IQ of 663 on level 4 speed. He played this on level 1, if you have noticed in his videos, there were no guide marks despite the slow speed.

  • @parsleysprigs IQ is measured against the player's efficiency of capturing cubes as well as the total number of cubes captured

  • This game reminds me of that one episode of Batman: TAS with the Riddler and his maze.

  • People that like this game will also enjoy devil dice. That game has kept me up all night playing on several occasions.

  • What song is playing on the final stage?

  • @davontewagner18 the song from the 2nd and 6th stage "Ecliptic" if you listen carefully

  • SUPER IQ TEST

  • Wow, this game has a pretty sweeping orchestral soundtrack for what's essentially a game about blocks.

  • He captured a forbidden cube at the start

  • Comment removed

  • thanks for the ending and such

  • I wonder how come when i was 7 or 8 i use to perfect this game but now at 19 aint played in yeeeeeears and now i dnt know wtf is going on .. O_0 hahaha life

  • @Tj956 i know exactly what u mean :/

  • i used to play this game so much i even played it in my dreams

  • Wow you know you are not suppose to capture the black cubes, I am only 10 and I have never made a mistake in l.Q I beat the entire game in 30 Min.

  • @josephmelton97 you never made a mistake... >_> considering this game is older then you. and mistake is making a block fall down or either capturing a blacks. not making a mistake on this game is impossible since 1 mistake will not make someone loose. + you said you never made a mistake again that is impossible if you never played the game before since this is a challenging game.

  • @blackvirse jeez who crapped on your corn flake hahahahahahahahahaha hey look up its a knife

  • @josephmelton97

    Mentaly disturbed?

  • この動画の、最初の問題(18歩)が好きだがステージ行が短い・・・。

    しかも最終面ではレベル0でも▼ガイドが見えない!

  • The durned thing had a plot?!?!?! news to me.

  • Final Stage Completed.

    Stat bonus: Intelligence + 10

  • Thanks for posting this. Brings back memories....and I feel that familiar throbbing in my thumb all over again. +1

  • So what was the story to this game?

  • Sounds kinda like Danny Elfman doing this

  • 3問目にあった模範14歩の問題は、13歩で解ける。

  • questo gioco è sempre stato uno dei miei migliori!

  • @Sakrephixx grandissimo,insieme a kula world

  • @mastrotoni Negli anni 90 questi giochi erano davvero intelligenti

Quei anni 90 erano davvero tosti!

  • wtf his talking about?

  • @Emchik he's talking about the reason for I.Q.

  • This game is so creepy.

But damn can you play hard.

  • FINALステージ、最初の1歩が肝心だったな。

    25行(実質16行)しかない足場ゆえ、迷ってると結局ステージ端に追い詰められて失敗・・・がよくある。

  • lol whats the other charaters u can play as i know there is eddie and cherry, is there more?

  • that is the most beautiful ending and it contradicts all of religious godly stuff. This is pure beauty.

  • This game brings me back. I love it so much.

  • Epic.Just Pure Epic.

  • ...this ending is weird.

  • You need one most.

  • This game is PSOne's Shadow of the Colossus! :)

  • my head had just exploded..

  • Memories<33333

  • @tuubaXXL big time buds i used to play this when i was 6 years old lol with my dad

  • how cool is this game!!!! I frickin loved it when i was a kid - loved the whole idea of a little dude runnin round tryin to stop the blocks from knockin him off the stage!

  • im pretty sure if they did make a sequal they would put a storyline and ruin it (my opinion) its happened to alot of games :P

  • They did make a sequels. Kurushi final on PS and I.Q. Mania on PSP

  • PERRRRRRRRRFECT

  • @ishouldplayzelda ohhh (falling down steps)

  • @ishouldplayz

*Adds another row of floor to the back*

    *Raises more blocks*

  • Was the guy who composes the music for this hey guy who composes alot of music for nintendo.

  • Did this game have a sequel?

  • I could have sworn they used this music in the movie "Galaxy Quest" ... alas ... they did not. .... but if you listen to them both you can see why I would think that.

  • i remember when i beat this game i was in the second grade and i was excited to unlock cynthia and the stage creator

  • I can't love the musical score to this game enough!! Every level has the greatest musical score ever.

This is like a Indiana Jones or ET or Jaws score by John Williams.

When I think of Intelligent Qube music, I think of John Williams.

  • Yup totally Agree!!! LIke Halo Series

  • there should be a version for ps3/psp of this (->awesomness)

  • So it turns from I.Q. to SimCity? :D

  • niiiice video...i played this ALOT at a friends house...but never finished it,too bad for me! ty

  • The guy you play as looks like a child from WoW.

They run the same, some even look the same!

  • A Star-Fox-ish kind of music..

  • Last time I played this was all those years ago on that Pizza Hut demo disc.

The music almost seems unfitting when I'm used to it quiet.

  • こんなエンディングがあったとは!

    UPありがとうございます。

    音楽、キューブが消える感覚、効果音、カメラの視点・・・などなど どの点においても刺激的なゲームでした。

    またプレイしたくなりました。

  • こんにちは私の友人

  • this took me 4 ever when it came out

  • llegue al nivel 7y medio

  • Yeah, great game, but it can't bring you nightmares :-)

  • There's a cool trick I discovered on my own some years ago, and since have seen others performing, that could help save you a step and even shortcut levels. It's where you press the X and the square key at the same time and capture a cube before it advances. It's useful when you're almost at the last step but you get the cube before it lands or if you're almost going to go one step beyond and can use it to save yourself ;).

  • I first played this on a demo disc, it came with Knightmare Creatures II! LOL!

I can't belive I remembered that. But My one had no music, it was scary, just the thumps of the blocks coming closer...

  • wow i played this on a demo disk and it had no music to

  • i played the demo too and i prefer it with no music

  • I used to play this!...................I know how to eliminate three blocks on one move of the blocks......

  • I played this game like 11 years ago...I passed it only twice :P but i think it was the best game ever!! Great music, and the sound of the cubes rolling, so scary :S....hehe

  • THIS GAME IS SO DOMINANT

    and the soundtrack is awesome

  • i cna only find the import iq games pretty sure they wont play on my playstation i need this game

  • you destroy the gray blocks but let the black ones fall.

    O=0

  • i remember this game when i was young.good times

  • the end quite remember me tron

  • I Really Loved This Game but the ending make's me cry! lul :D *crying*XD

  • I loved this game

  • I remember this game from waaaay back :D

I thought it was really scary...

  • my kurushi never had music :o

  • I wish I could play this. The first and last tine I ever saw this game before today was probably 10 years ago. I was 4.

  • Man, I still don't get how people can record this at such a great frame rate. In my Let's Play of this the frame rate sucks! Anyway. Good job. :)

  • heres the strange (or awesome?) thing. I actually found a copy of this game (for the sony playstation and in pretty good condition) at a goodwill. How much did i pay? 2.99! thats right. two dollars and ninety nine cents + tax.

  • there is no tax at good will.. you lied

  • Wait, how did you get that ending? I beat it today and it stopped where 4:54 did. Do you need a really high IQ or something?

  • This is a very old game. This is still a great game but the only reason you can't find it in stores is because it's rare and they stopped making them. This game is worth more than $40 a piece for a used copy. Look for it on ebay. The prices go really high.

  • God I felt that pain when he forgot to turn it red and blew up that first black block instead of gray.

  • beutiful musics

  • Oh man, I just played through this today for the first time since 1997. I was rusty, but at least I hadn't died! My IQ was something in the 300s. I'll try to work my way back up to around your score. XD

  • Oh man, I really wish I could play this.

  • this is probly one of my favorite games but i havent played it for years. Every time I look for a copy to buy no store ever has one.

  • haha, i've always wanted this game... lol..

i only played the demo which came with my ps1

i loved it, but i was only like 7 or 8...

haha, look at that ridiculous score! iq of 546! lol, super computer!!! lol...

  • I played teis when I was like rly young..it was awesome lol

  • wanna cheat through the final stage? do as mush of the stage as you can and then let the extra blocks fall off the stage. if you are lucky you can beat the final stage with just a few rows left. i know its not a cheat per se but its easier then trying to do the whole stage...

  • I always thought this was the beginning of THE SIMS when I saw the ending.

  • lol, i used to play this game all the time....until i lost it. X( lol.

  • i never understood that game

  • you have to make the grey and green blocks disappear before they fall of the edge.

  • that was great playin,im impressed

  • if only your IQ really was 546 :P

  • I know i've heard the ending music somewhere before, sounds familiar and i cannot remember where it's from, does anyone know? It kinda reminds me if Jet force gemini a little, but I know that probably isn't it.

  • it reminds me of finaly fantasy

  • If you're referencing to the music, you should check out Legend of Mana, it almost sounds like the same composer.

  • sweetness, never made it pass the final stage - too damn hard

    good work

  • awesome playing! awesome starwarish music!! and now I know that sim city 2000 starts when kurushi finishes eheh!! awesome ending!!

  • Very well played! I never got this far either but I thought the music was some of the best I had heard. Great Job!

  • I own this game. It's simply AWESOME. I've never got that far. Just the first round of the last level. :'(

    BRAVO! BRAVO! Fantastic player.

  • this game was pretty good; brings back a lot of memories when i was about eight. But I never figured out why there was a guy in a blank space inhabited only by freaky, meaningless cubes....??? :)

  • Music sounds like Star Wars music.

  • Yeah, made in japan

  • I thought based on the commericials this game would be more about running around on top of the cubes, trying to avoid falling off as they all slowly crumble away; since I've never played I don't understand how the game works exactly. Regardless, during the end movie, the cars were all driving on the left side of the road; was the game made overseas or something?

  • well played. Bravo!!!

  • why is this game called IQ?

  • intelligent qube

  • Chicky is awesome!

  • Ha! I rememebr this about a decade or so in the past. One of the few games I ever found worth playing.

    Thanks for the good memory!

  • NO WAY!!!!

  • Yukino Watanabe makes everything. I've seen his name on almost every big video game in the last 10 yrs. Wow!!

  • Kurushi is the game with the best music ever! =D

  • forget god or the big bang theory KURUSHI created the universe lol
