without a blow off valve you can get very high pressure spikes when the throttle shuts the air can go back out through the turbo which makes the fluttering chirping sound which everyone hears about but its the bov job to prevent that

You need a lighter spring man, had same blow off on my buds built 50 trim srt4 on 25lbs and always had a problem of his exhaust manifold studs backing out from the pressure not escaping, changed to a lighter spring, completely different blow off sound and no more exhaust manifold problems, compressor surge bad :/

@calvinblinkee It's a result of the bov opening before the car hits full boost. The spring is probably on a tight setting also, maybe it doesn't even have a bov. Compressor surge happens *DURING* spool up, not after you let off the throttle.... It makes plenty of sense and is straightforward yet people call out COMPRESSOR SURGE like they know what they are talking about.

@lentilsouper: its not "designed" to make the flutter noise and ur friend made a bad choice of getting rid of it. In my eyes the tial, and synapse synchronic, are the two best bov's in the market today and i have both (everyone had there own opinion). I personaly like the tial better and have 0 boost leaks with it. In this case, this guy had a spring that is too stiff and the valve isnt opening causeing it to flutter. If he does some research and buys/installs the rite spring he will be fine. I
