I love the Iphone but as they haven't added flash on iphone 4 I feel ripped off and a tad bullied. So yes best looking phone out there bar none but we the consumer dictate what we want, not mr jobs!!! So jumping ship im afraid. Just wish we had the evo here in uk as it wins hands down.

Htc is thinking "smart" by making phones in steps. What i mean by that is just whenever there's improvement, they make a phone. Even when it is only a small leap forward, so does a lot of companies btw. They try to make as much profit as they can. A real smart move i would say, but it just sucks for us.

@thewalkingjesusfish have you seen its specs? ;) My point is Desire is more powerful but uglier. On the esthetics one can argue off course but one cannot argue legend is much less powerful has less hardware and capabilities. HTC disappointed me for a long time when it comes to power/design ratio. Needles to say some things have changed lately. EVO and HD2 do look awesome. But I couldn't wait for so long so I got my iPhone4 jailbroke it and never looked back :)
@deathdevil1130 been asking the same and got desire at the end. I have also tried HD2. Couple differences. Desire has got little bit smaller but better display. It makes the device more compact and it feels more natural in hand. Windows mobile is just not keeping up with the hardware, I mean there's so much potential which winmo can't exploit because of limitations that platform has. Android on Desire is so much faster and you can really feel that it has been developed with different philosophy.

Legend is the best. Mainly because its the best looking and the cost. Its around £350-360 here in UK and Desire is above £400 which is way not worth it. Legend has everything Desire has. Only difference is Desire has tiny bit bigger screen so the battery will run out quicker. Legend wins.

Technically yes. Android is open source, so to speak. There are currently more ROM s and developers for Windows Mobile, but the things for Android will mostly be placed together, while many things for windows mobile will be all over the place.
While Android is pretty free to modify, it doesn't allow for as much as WM, and hasn't got as big of a community yet. With Android there's more that HAS to be 'cooked' into a ROM (so it's controlled by the 'cook' and not by the user), whereas with WM this can often be done by just using a registry editor or installing a *.cab.
That said Android is more stable and user-friendly, and I really envy their apps. The 3D games and AR and free turn-by-turn (on 2.0+) and such. Not a lot of that on WM.

no, the desire is GSM only. However, the Nexus One is coming to Verizon and is exactly the same apart from the software and trackball. You can install the HTC Desire ROM from XDA Devs
Its supposedly going to AT&T, Verizon is "supposedly" getting HTC Incredible, Sprint is getting HTC Legend (a.k.a. HTC Hero 2) and T-Mobile is "supposedly" getting HTC HD 2 but you should wait til the carriers themselves confirm these lol
Google Says that Verizon is getting the Nexus One, So you already know that's true. Plus if you went on t-mobile's site, you would see HTC HD2 listed as coming soon, which means its confirmed and coming out within a month
I'm getting the HTC Desire when it comes out because honestly, i think of it this way, I can go with the flow and get the new iphone coming out soon, or get something as good or if not BETTER than the Iphone that almost NO one will have. And iphone is just good for messing around on imo :P
I think the Desire will be quite popular aswell though. Nexus One is popular and the same hardware but with Sense UI and physical buttons instead of the not so good touch buttons on the Nexus. It will not be as popular as the iPhone, but it will probably be better.
Lets say you use 100 apps daily. Apple App store isn't only place you can find these things, its just has everything in one place. Nothing to brag about.

Legend is the best. Mainly because its the best looking and the cost. Its around £350-360 here in UK and Desire is above £400 which is way not worth it. Legend has everything Desire has. Only difference is Desire has tiny bit bigger screen so the battery will run out quicker. Legend wins.

@jakuza1977 yeah desire has a bigger battery with a bigger screen so battery will run out quicker and legend looks way better. And the desire should have a 8mp camera instead of 5. 600mhz cpu for the legend is enough, its runs really fast.

and MelvinSF. you really got me thinkin really seriously about getting android phone. Iphone is only good for those games (my opinion) but I often use the reg edit in WM and like to modify on the run.
I think androd community is going to grow and maybe its getting some updates that will give it somekind of easier tweaking abilities. just hoping.

Technically yes. Android is open source, so to speak. There are currently more ROM s and developers for Windows Mobile, but the things for Android will mostly be placed together, while many things for windows mobile will be all over the place.

While Android is pretty free to modify, it doesn't allow for as much as WM, and hasn't got as big of a community yet. With Android there's more that HAS to be 'cooked' into a ROM (so it's controlled by the 'cook' and not by the user), whereas with WM this can often be done by just using a registry editor or installing a *.cab.
That said Android is more stable and user-friendly, and I really envy their apps. The 3D games and AR and free turn-by-turn (on 2.0+) and such. Not a lot of that on WM.

I have the htc hd2 and it's amazing, I love it. The only thing I use my ipod touch for these days is the apps. Marketplace will never beat the app store.
The htc hd2 mini looks pretty sweet. for all those people with small pockets! :D

Naw Legend is smaller than HTC Hero and yeah it's the HTC Hero 2/ Legend has an AMOILED HVGA 3.2 screen which basically means it looks nice and saves battery ^^

no, the desire is GSM only. However, the Nexus One is coming to Verizon and is exactly the same apart from the software and trackball. You can install the HTC Desire ROM from XDA Devs

Its supposedly going to AT&T, Verizon is "supposedly" getting HTC Incredible, Sprint is getting HTC Legend (a.k.a. HTC Hero 2) and T-Mobile is "supposedly" getting HTC HD 2 but you should wait til the carriers themselves confirm these lol

I'm getting the HTC Desire when it comes out because honestly, i think of it this way, I can go with the flow and get the new iphone coming out soon, or get something as good or if not BETTER than the Iphone that almost NO one will have. And iphone is just good for messing around on imo :P

I think the Desire will be quite popular aswell though. Nexus One is popular and the same hardware but with Sense UI and physical buttons instead of the not so good touch buttons on the Nexus. It will not be as popular as the iPhone, but it will probably be better.
