saying that this is bad and that Mario games are bad to, is wrong. Games are not always about 3d its also about the style of how you make it and the looks. thats why its 2d this game because this way they could make it look like Japanese drawings

This game, as stated by the creator and design team was made 2-D on purpose. All of the graphics, and I mean ALL were hand drawn and hand painted, only use of the computer in this part was the stringing together of the actual frames. Also this game does have a story, what game doesn't (even the bad ones)? And there is nothing wrong with 2-D, especially because variety is the "spice of life". The 3-D advocate up there clearly has no appreciation at all for a call back to the beginning of games.

True, but keep in mind that the footage of this game in this video is only in its preliminary stages. Vanillaware most likely would want to show off the action sequences in order to gather some attention for this game. I bet that they will add MUCH more to this game in the final version. =D
