Actually its cars like this "Mk whatever" that is keeping ford in the hole... Ford IS dieing and they just opened up a plant in MEXICO after they shut down and layed off hundreds in Canada. They did that to get cheaper labor and avoid high cost of health care...I'm sorry to say it but the Japanese automotive industry is doing far FAR better then our good ol American one.Ford...Stop listening to investors and LISTEN TO THE CONSUMER...Customers always right....right?
Well..., if you put it as if, Lincoln installed a whole lot of unecessary gadgets and, luxury features in it's new MKS...I guess, M.Benz, BMW, Cadilliac, Lexus, Infinity and, all the other luxury manufactors been doing the wrong thing for YEARS, huh? SMH!
No people have gotten lazy and they buy all this crap they don't need just because its new and hip....I bet 9 out of ten younger people (my age and younger) don't even know how to use a map and compass

Bring back the Capri, Make it rear wheel drive with standard 4 cyl with V6 options auto and manual transmissions and leave those heavy electronics off of it and focus on making the car fun to drive as well as having great gas mileage....Oh....AND KEEP IT AFFORDABLE!
That will save ford from itself.
Ford will have the same fate as AMC if something drastic does not change.
I know that...that means you must PAY extra to get it. And FYI I know plenty about cars I grew up with REAL cars all my life. its this generation of people that have no idea what a REAL car is about...you do not need a neat entertainment system in your car all you need is rear wheel drive lots of power good handling and a map. people that buy cars these days are spoiled brats with too much money.

If ford was acting truly innovative they would have en electric motor in this.
Now THAT would get unbeatable "gas mileage" ROFL! but I still think this looks similar to any other brand new car...they just lack style and feeling...in fact There really is no such thing as "DRIVERS" anymore...its more like "Rider's" I cant stand new cars they have no personality its just a hunk of metal and plastic:(

Til' then..., I guess, Uncle Sam's gotta' make money, somehow! Lol..
Then again the battery's that perform well and those motors are very expensive and the cost of a new crate Zetec engine from ford Motorsport was around $600! They would make SO much more in parts and upkeep of the electric engine that it would be worth it to sell cheap just to get a few thousand out on the roads;)

They should have put in the proper time and money into the Town car....Now THATS a REAL car! ...Here is some advice ford...LOOK AT ALL THE OTHER COMPANY'S THERE GOING REAR WHEEL DRIVE...Why buy this when the caddy has a V8 and rear wheel drive?
That is a common misconception, My Crown Victoria gets better gas mileage then my aunts NEW Focus...her focus is a four cylinder and it runs like it should (we had it tested at ford)
Actually, if the Vic had a 4 cyl in it it would get horrific gas mileage because that little engine would have to work much MUCH harder to get it to move then the small V8 that is has in it. and 32 mpg out of a V8 isn't impossible...MINE doesn't get that good but its not outright impossible.
Yeah My Capri is a 1974 and that year they put HUGE heavy bumpers on the car and new emissions equipment and it make the car weak and slow so it burned twice as much fuel as before, My little car was rated at 85hp I took all that stuff off of it and added a header and re-tuned it, it now has around 110hp and gets very good gas mileage (2.0L 4 cyl) it can move with traffic at around 2500 rpm;) its a keeper:)
Oh and if you have enough money to waste on something that looks like a squished egg and the OPTIONAL awd and the upkeep of those turbos and all those unnecessary electronics you won't be too worried about gas mileage.

Ford Taurus and Mercury Milan rolls off the same line in Chicago as this overpriced rebadging. Don't be suprised to see sticker price of $50K+

Most people aren't buying V8 anymore because, of fuel economy! I'll take a twin turbocharged V6 over a naturally aspired V8, ANY DAY!
