@vivascargill1 And wasteful! LOL! What a total waste of dosh, Don Quixote! I hope you didn't give any to the IRA along with Gaddafi while you were at it.
@vivascargill1 I would keep that quiet if i were you, They are trying to get Scargill out of the Apartment over looking the london docklands that the union are paying for. He says he deserves it.......todays miners are asking who the fuck is he???
@CloeBuckingham Have you seen the new Magaret Thatcher film yet? let me tell you now- it is excellent!!! Considering its true to life and they can't lie in the film, their was one point that made everyone turn and look at one another.....not only were the pits subsidised prior to closure, Scargill wanted a 35%(not 3.5%) pay increase for his workers as well!!! Respect to all miners but what were the union leaders thinking of?.....apart from themselves of course.
@ledzeplad Most cirtics shere in the states said that the movie was/t very good, amd I agree. I went to it looking to learn a bit about British history, and instead I got endless stuff about an elderly dementia case wandering around talking to her dead husband.
The only good thing aout the movie was that the soundtrack had the song "I'm in love with Margret Thatcher." So I youtubed it and found song after song by people who hate thatcher. From that, I learned something.
as I write from the great blues singer etta james is dying--etta a friend of malcolm's took a look at Obama (to whose inauguration she was not invited and had her song cribbed by some bitch) and said "he's not my president" a grief and I remembered the line from Brassed off "and Thatcher still lives" I have a of good booze waiting--I gave as much money as I could I wish I could have been on the line tell me when she dies!!!! NO state funeral!
@CloeBuckingham its people like you that make me write my songs so sad that you cant see the pain n suffering shes caused........there will be a huge line of people ready to dance
@songforanyone It doesn't really matter how long the line of people is. If the mob had any reason, Hitler, Stalin, and Mao would not have risen to power.
The miracle of Thatcher is that she could create a revolution in a parliamentary democracy with a free press and still leave all its democratic institutions intact when she was finished with the revolution.
she destroyed the working class, and now the politicians moan, 'oh we have a broken britain', where nobody knows eachother, nobody trusts their neighbour, whole areas wiped out by drug addiction , crime and immigration. but at least the bankers could gamble a fortune and peoples pensions away. well done thatcher
@symond Destroyed the working class? Before Thatcher, on only heard posh accents in the City of London. Now one hears even more working class accents in the corridors of corporate and banking power. She democratised Great Britain, creating a culture of opportunity.
The 'surveillance state' you describe is the product of Tony Blair.
@CloeBuckingham yes its true a few essex boys can now gamble on the stock exchange, but what about the hundreds of thousands of people in closed down towns, the jails full and the deaths from drug addiction, broken families and communities, i dont say blair was any better, every politician looks after number 1. what happened to britain, the inventors, teachers, pioneers. the ingenuity of the british working man. ... oh well some can make a few quid on the futures market,
@symond Thank you for sharing your opinion with me. I appreciate it.
While it is true that Thatcher created unemployment, this has happened with most transitions from a planned economy to a free market economy (e.g., East Germany, Russia). By 2001 unemployment was below the pre-Thatcher level.
With your other claims, it is very hard to demonstrate cause and effect.
@CloeBuckingham of course thats true with a transitional government, and perhaps they didnt fully understand the impact it would have to just think of profit before people. but the cost in human life and destruction of the british society will effect us for many years. just on a simple level. if your dad was a ship builder, he would probably have learned his trade from his father and would pass it down to his son, this is what created a proud working class community,
@CloeBuckingham maybe true, but surely the great british tory party of the era could have thought for a few minutes as to what would happen to those communities after their work and culture was taken away, maybe slowly introduced new industries, created trade schools all sorts of things. instead of, oh thats not making enough money shut it now, and throw the town on the dole, its ok they can numb themselves with cheap heroin,
@symond I agree. They should have thought of doing a bit more Empire building and having a few more wars.
As for industries, Great Britain has them in abundance. Consider the new science parks that have sprouted outside many cities like Cambridge. Consider the pharmaceutical startups like Chiroscience, later bought by Celltech. The only trouble is that these new industries require much education. Many working class people got that and joined these new industries. Those who stagnated, suffered.
@symond What you write is based on the supposition that the pre-Thatcher society was sustainable. But it is not. First of all, the UK still has some ship building. South Korea has 53.2% of the market share in ship building in 2011. China has 31.2% and Japan 4.7%.
Are you proposing that British ship builders, with their continuous strikes and other inefficiencies that don't exist in Korea, China, or Japan could seriously compete in international markets? It's a pipe dream.
@ledzeplad Margaret Thatcher cared deeply about the sovereignty of the United Kingdom, and she did not want to cede that sovereignty to another layer of bureaucracy, the unelected bureaucrats that manage the European Community, not European Union, in Brussels and elsewhere. She preserved the British Pound, refusing to join the Euro. At the time, she was widely criticised by her own party, but it has alowed the UK to avoid the current Euro mess. She also got the UK a rebate, saving us billions.
I was born after the 80's, and so don't know the hardship of thoes times as presumably most of you do. However, I hate everything about Thatcher and the tory party, in the past and present. She split the Labour Party (turning it centre left rather than socialist), destroyed the unions and left millions jobless. She did no good to the world, and the Conservative party never will.
She never once had anything near a majority in Scotland. Some of my relatives are Tory voters and even they admit she had no proper control over the country, as much as they'd have liked her to have. She may have been a strong woman, she may have promoted free market ideals that many people believe in, but she never understood Scotland and she should never have dragged it in to her schemes. She hurt the nation badly and whether you like her or not, it is hard to justify what she did here.
Thatcher never answered a straight question in her life like most politicians what planet was you on in the 80s because it wasnt this one with the bull your coming out with. And by the way you arent my perspective employer and i guarantee you would never become my employer with the stuff you say. As someone earlier mentions, Hitler had a set of principles, this doesnt mean you have to follow them, think for yourself and see the bigger picture.
'Still bitter failures after thirty years? You've wasted your lives and you have only yourselves to blame. Why were you even born?'
That was the reason i called you a Dickwhit, Dickwhit!
Thatcher was honest, are you totally deluded? Thatcher was concerned with breaking the unions and lied saying the pits where running out of coal when they were clearly not as loads were swiftly open cast mined by foreign companies.
Thatcher went too far with privatizing things and she failed to get us out of Europe. BUT at least she believed in a set of ideas and principles. Today's politicians are just awful. They have betrayed hundreds of thousands of our war dead by selling out to Europe. A question is put to them and they never give a clear answer. They are up to their necks in deception. Thatcher was honest. You could take what she said, or leave it.
@CloeBuckingham Isn't it funny that when you go through all these youtube posts about the uberbitch, you find hundreds of different voices saying how much they're going to enjoy her funeral, but only the same tiny band (3) of her deluded fans? This one is only 33. She would have been in her pram in 1980, so what the fuck would she know, eh?
Still bitter failures after thirty years? You've wasted your lives and you have only yourselves to blame. Why were you even born?
I had a brilliant time all through the eighties and so did everyone I knew - and I came out of a comprehensive. If you couldn't get on in the eighties there was something wrong with you.
The trouble with socialism is that sooner or later you run out of other people's money.
You fucking dickwhit, thatcher closed the pits, fucked up the youth apprentice opportunities and screwed the north of England right over. There are mining villages here that are like ghost towns still because of what the bitch did. And the latest torys in power are doing the same at the moment, i hope your kids cant get work and rot on the dole like the millions that did in the eighties. Fuck all to do with socialism you prick, rich versus poor was what it was about.
@bossendenwoodconvict But you're not a potential employer. are you? And why is that? Why is practically no-one a potential employer anymore (unless you count "useless" industries like PR, telesales & market research)? Go on, see if you can guess? Having a set of principles is not enough. Hitler believed in a set of principles, and so did Pol Pot! And pec104 IS a fucking dickwhick. Go here and read the comments youtube.com/watch?v=vbddqXib814
When that bitch finally goes to meet her maker shes got a lot of questions to answer. Why did you destroy so many communities and lives of people you were paid to serve? If there is a hell you will be headin there, give Hitler a kick when you get there.
Thatcher had a great deal of charisma and ability. However, she did not turn it to the good for the reason she could not see beyond the end of her nose. I live in the middle of what was the South Wales coalfield and consequently have little to thank her for. Cymru am byth...
Sands had no 'killers' - he killed himself. He didn't have to. His death did nothing to advance a United Ireland. Are Republicans any nearer their aim than they were 30 or 40 years ago?
Fact: The Conservatives duly won general elections under Mrs. Thatcher in 1979, 1983, and 1987. If you call that 'a few geographical areas of the UK,' fair enough.
@donaldkingful Martin McGuinness is the Deputy First Minister of Northern Ireland and peace has been upheld for at least 11 years. I'm suggesting we've made an advance.
You completely misunderstand what I said. The other contributor said that we should respect someone who dies for what he believes in - regardless of what we think of their politics. I pointed out that WE MIGHT AS WELL, then, say that we should respect Nazi war criminals at Nuremberg because they died for something they believed in. You turn this around and call me a Nazi! I oppose the use of violence to attain a United Ireland and I oppose Nazism. I respect NO ONE who dies for these things.
Going by your philosophy, anyone who dies for what he believes in is a martyr who has to be respected. You might as well say that Nazi war criminals are 'martyrs' who were hung at Nuremberg for what they believed in, regardless of your own political opinions. That won't do, will it? Sands supported a political strategy that ended in defeat, and justified the murder of innocent people. The fact that he went on hunger strike doesn't mean that I have to respect him at all. He died for nothing.
@donaldkingful why waste ur breath on something you have no knowlegde about.your ignorance and nazi views gave me the inspiration to write these songs in particular this one in the first place...as long as there is fanatical nazis like you in the world i will continue to keep writing them.....
The only person responsible for Bobby Sands' death was himself. Did he think that murdering other people & then committing suicide was going to bring about his 'United Ireland'? It didn't. He died in vain. He was a self-righteous and bloodthirsty fanatic.
@donaldkingful I doubt you would have the bravery to do what he did you twat. He died a horrible and painful death for what he believed in. No matter what your views on politics you should respect that.
@donaldkingful - He was a self-righteous and bloodthirsty fanatic.
Like his killers - the sadistic torturers who only spoke for and represented a few geographical areas of the UK.
There's no difference between wanting to murder Margaret Thatcher and wanting to murder all the millions of people who voted for her..... I don't want her murdered, I will just have a little drink when she goes. A party?....maybe but I feel that the atmosphere would be tinged with too much bitterness to enjoy it.
@donaldkingful Bobby Sands died in vain because Thatcher was too stubborn to recognise that Britain has no political legitimacy in Ireland (and you can't "manufacture" some by drawing lines on a map around your supporters). And why did she refuse to listen? Because without the support of a handful of loyalist MP's she didn't have the democratic legitimacy in this country she was so proud of. And I'm not a misogynist. I hate her because she was a grade A cunt!
@OhNonottheNWO Don't hate her. You will only harm yourself . You may be thinking angry thoughts and cut yourself while shaving. Even worse you might walk out in front of a bus. Let the past go.Maggie did wrong, but we all do wrong as we have a sin nature. As for Ireland,it's in The British Isles and we are supporting this failed economy with billions of pounds. If we have done wrong we are making amends. Actually though, through the ages, Catholics have done far more harm to Protestants.
@bossendenwoodconvict I really don't think you get it. Did you have a particularly easy time during the last three decades? Pure luck if you did, mate. Thatcher was one of the first polititians to embrace that looney Milton Friedman's stupid (and now proven wrong) theories. As a result of Britain going down that path, his loosebrained rantings gained international credibility. You can blame her for the WORLDS current state! ie..F*CKED!!
The hate-filled far left are the mirror images of the hate-filled far right. If the SWP and the BNP didn't exist, they'd have to invent each other. There's no difference between wanting to murder Margaret Thatcher and wanting to murder all the millions of people who voted for her. Communism always leads to genocide, labour camps, and the end of freedom. People like killing other people, in 'the people's cause.' Shame on you.
SWP? Really? The SWP are as moderate as you can get! I personally hate them for that exact reason, they aren't socialist or communists, they are agents of capitalism. You should be applauding the SWP because they are doing the work that cunts like you want to do.
Lenin and Trotsky murdered a lot more people than Margaret Thatcher. She was democratically elected by the British people, unlike the undemocratic 'heroic' miners' strike. Scargill led them (some of them) up the hill, then down the hill again to failure. The 'heroic' miners murdered some working miners by throwing a concrete block on top of their car. Communism always turns to Red Terror in the end.
Thatcher took my dad's job, my papa's jobs and my uncle's jobs. the community I grew up in was a diminishing mining one. she fucked us all. I hope the cunt rots.
@laurencarruthers11 Thatcher has already lit up the heavens with her divine presence. She is the brightest star in the firmament.
And I need to subsidise your friggin' coal mining community because... what? Because of your lust for black lung? Because you think digging in the dirt is so friggin' honourable for the human spirit?
It is better now, when I can turn the switch and get some friggin' electricity than in the days of brownouts, blackouts, and your endless commie strikes.
@animalpark333 The pits closed themselves I'm sorry to say. It's tragic what happened to all those workers but in reality there was no future for coal mining in the UK. Those coal mines were heavily subsidised and cost everybody in high energy prices. The union bosses had their own agenda to push and they sent many a young man to his death to dig in mines that had only a few tonnes of coal left. Thatcher had only two options - let this continue at the peril of the country, or cut the subsidy.
When I think back when i was 15 i was soo looking forward to entering my first job, which was secure, permanent and well paid, with prospects. Thatcher has deprived generations of young people of these rights. What have thousands of school leavers this year got to look forward to where jobs are concerned ?What she did way back is still affecting us all now. Why is not politics taught on the school curriculum? Damn and blast that women Thatcher may she rot in hell.
Reign it in, there really is no need to be so disgusting about her. There really are worse leaders and if you have to bypass political arguement and practical expression of opinion by imagining murdering the woman then its really just revolting.
i love how people just go on about the war in iraq and that is MUCH worse than the miners strike, yes more people have died in the recent wars (dont even try to lecture me on it, ive lost many friends from serving in the forces that i made during my time in) what people forget is that thatcher killed off one of our greatest industries, and many jobs with it, that......is what the songs about, not anything else!
@shay341 Margret Thatcher was the Prime Minister of England when the Hunger strikers led by Bobby Sands in the prison of Long Kesh in the illigally occupied six counties of Eirann(Ireland) died. Bobby Sands was the first victem and she let him starve to death. Look up Bobby Sands and learn about a true hero of Eirann. UP THE RA and go RIRA!!. I hope when Thatcher dies that someone does stick a stake in her heart. She will have some explaining to do in the hereafter thats for sure.
This country has been subjected to 31 years of conservative rule. yet, dispite the most repressive Anti-Trade union laws we are not defeated and we are fighting back
So is the people disliking Mrs. Thatcher just the usual leftist queers? Im not too keen on Britain politics that many years ago, but i do know that leftists like to be faggots.
Cool song John. Just bumping it up now so it shows up on my facebook wall. I can't wait until the old shag sack finally dies. I'm just gutted she's too senile to know...
It will be a Fucking great day the day this old bitch Dies ... and yes many will be dancing on ya grave Cunto THATCHER ..... WHAT You did to our Minors you will never be forgiven for and the IRISH .... You have a first class ticket straight to hell ...
her life is a misery as its stand, scargill is more popular in 2010 than her and the IRA are undefeated and in govt awaiting the united ireland in the good friday agreement.
Unusual not to have photo's of Johns brother on this vid, that lad gets where watter can't.

Thatcher set the countries economy back a decade by buoying the state with north sea oil, squandering a huge asset.
She was dogmatic in her ideologies and refused to be moved, even when she was being reckless with the economy and peoples lives.
The 'Big Bang' of finance deregulation is a direct cause of the current world economic state and all this while her mind is rotting away.
Since she was so big on a 'small state', she can pay for her own private fucking funeral.

@OhThisCharmingMan Put the country back 10 years? Wasn't 1969 better than 1979? The economy grew by a third under Thatcher.
Before Thatcher, if I flicked on the light, would there be light? Or a brownout?
Could I plan a trip, or would the trains be on strike?
If I had a heart attack, would the ambulance drivers be on strike too?
Society was broken before Thatcher, and she fixed it.
Ted Heath would have given the Falklands to Argentina, despite the fact that 98% voted to stay British.

Respect to all miners but what were the union leaders thinking of?.....apart from themselves of course.
ledzeplad 1 month ago
@ledzeplad It makes me wonder how the anti-Thatcher brigade could have detached so thoroughly from reality.
CloeBuckingham 1 month ago
@ledzeplad Most cirtics shere in the states said that the movie was/t very good, amd I agree. I went to it looking to learn a bit about British history, and instead I got endless stuff about an elderly dementia case wandering around talking to her dead husband.
The only good thing aout the movie was that the soundtrack had the song "I'm in love with Margret Thatcher." So I youtubed it and found song after song by people who hate thatcher. From that, I learned something.

CloeBuckingham 2 months ago 2
she destroyed the working class, and now the politicians moan, 'oh we have a broken britain', where nobody knows eachother, nobody trusts their neighbour, whole areas wiped out by drug addiction , crime and immigration. but at least the bankers could gamble a fortune and peoples pensions away. well done thatcher
symond 2 months ago
@symond Destroyed the working class? Before Thatcher, on only heard posh accents in the City of London. Now one hears even more working class accents in the corridors of corporate and banking power. She democratised Great Britain, creating a culture of opportunity.
The 'surveillance state' you describe is the product of Tony Blair.
CloeBuckingham 2 months ago
@CloeBuckingham yes its true a few essex boys can now gamble on the stock exchange, but what about the hundreds of thousands of people in closed down towns, the jails full and the deaths from drug addiction, broken families and communities, i dont say blair was any better, every politician looks after number 1. what happened to britain, the inventors, teachers, pioneers. the ingenuity of the british working man. ... oh well some can make a few quid on the futures market,
symond 2 months ago
@symond Thank you for sharing your opinion with me. I appreciate it.
While it is true that Thatcher created unemployment, this has happened with most transitions from a planned economy to a free market economy (e.g., East Germany, Russia). By 2001 unemployment was below the pre-Thatcher level.
With your other claims, it is very hard to demonstrate cause and effect.
CloeBuckingham 2 months ago
@CloeBuckingham of course thats true with a transitional government, and perhaps they didnt fully understand the impact it would have to just think of profit before people. but the cost in human life and destruction of the british society will effect us for many years. just on a simple level. if your dad was a ship builder, he would probably have learned his trade from his father and would pass it down to his son, this is what created a proud working class community,
symond 2 months ago
@symond The working class community may have been proud, but those industries were doomed to fail. Thatcher only hastened their demise.
CloeBuckingham 2 months ago
@CloeBuckingham maybe true, but surely the great british tory party of the era could have thought for a few minutes as to what would happen to those communities after their work and culture was taken away, maybe slowly introduced new industries, created trade schools all sorts of things. instead of, oh thats not making enough money shut it now, and throw the town on the dole, its ok they can numb themselves with cheap heroin,
symond 2 months ago
@symond I agree. They should have thought of doing a bit more Empire building and having a few more wars.
As for industries, Great Britain has them in abundance. Consider the new science parks that have sprouted outside many cities like Cambridge. Consider the pharmaceutical startups like Chiroscience, later bought by Celltech. The only trouble is that these new industries require much education. Many working class people got that and joined these new industries. Those who stagnated, suffered.
CloeBuckingham 2 months ago

13agibson 2 months ago
Thatcher never answered a straight question in her life like most politicians what planet was you on in the 80s because it wasnt this one with the bull your coming out with. And by the way you arent my perspective employer and i guarantee you would never become my employer with the stuff you say. As someone earlier mentions, Hitler had a set of principles, this doesnt mean you have to follow them, think for yourself and see the bigger picture.

Thatcher was honest, are you totally deluded? Thatcher was concerned with breaking the unions and lied saying the pits where running out of coal when they were clearly not as loads were swiftly open cast mined by foreign companies.
9thaspect9 2 months ago
Thatcher went too far with privatizing things and she failed to get us out of Europe. BUT at least she believed in a set of ideas and principles. Today's politicians are just awful. They have betrayed hundreds of thousands of our war dead by selling out to Europe. A question is put to them and they never give a clear answer. They are up to their necks in deception. Thatcher was honest. You could take what she said, or leave it.

If you call that 'a few geographical areas of the UK,' fair enough.
donaldkingful 5 months ago
@donaldkingful Martin McGuinness is the Deputy First Minister of Northern Ireland and peace has been upheld for at least 11 years. I'm suggesting we've made an advance.
KungfuCow5 2 months ago
You completely misunderstand what I said. The other contributor said that we should respect someone who dies for what he believes in - regardless of what we think of their politics. I pointed out that WE MIGHT AS WELL, then, say that we should respect Nazi war criminals at Nuremberg because they died for something they believed in. You turn this around and call me a Nazi! I oppose the use of violence to attain a United Ireland and I oppose Nazism. I respect NO ONE who dies for these things.
donaldkingful 5 months ago
Going by your philosophy, anyone who dies for what he believes in is a martyr who has to be respected. You might as well say that Nazi war criminals are 'martyrs' who were hung at Nuremberg for what they believed in, regardless of your own political opinions. That won't do, will it? Sands supported a political strategy that ended in defeat, and justified the murder of innocent people. The fact that he went on hunger strike doesn't mean that I have to respect him at all. He died for nothing.

The only person responsible for Bobby Sands' death was himself. Did he think that murdering other people & then committing suicide was going to bring about his 'United Ireland'? It didn't. He died in vain. He was a self-righteous and bloodthirsty fanatic.
donaldkingful 5 months ago
@donaldkingful I doubt you would have the bravery to do what he did you twat. He died a horrible and painful death for what he believed in. No matter what your views on politics you should respect that.
DADAYSHH 5 months ago
@donaldkingful - He was a self-righteous and bloodthirsty fanatic.
A party?....maybe but I feel that the atmosphere would be tinged with too much bitterness to enjoy it.
shellovski 5 months ago
@donaldkingful Bobby Sands died in vain because Thatcher was too stubborn to recognise that Britain has no political legitimacy in Ireland (and you can't "manufacture" some by drawing lines on a map around your supporters). And why did she refuse to listen? Because without the support of a handful of loyalist MP's she didn't have the democratic legitimacy in this country she was so proud of. And I'm not a misogynist. I hate her because she was a grade A cunt!
OhNonottheNWO 2 months ago
@OhNonottheNWO Don't hate her. You will only harm yourself . You may be thinking angry thoughts and cut yourself while shaving. Even worse you might walk out in front of a bus. Let the past go.Maggie did wrong, but we all do wrong as we have a sin nature. As for Ireland,it's in The British Isles and we are supporting this failed economy with billions of pounds. If we have done wrong we are making amends. Actually though, through the ages, Catholics have done far more harm to Protestants.
bossendenwoodconvict 2 months ago
@bossendenwoodconvict I really don't think you get it. Did you have a particularly easy time during the last three decades? Pure luck if you did, mate. Thatcher was one of the first polititians to embrace that looney Milton Friedman's stupid (and now proven wrong) theories. As a result of Britain going down that path, his loosebrained rantings gained international credibility. You can blame her for the WORLDS current state! ie..F*CKED!!
OhNonottheNWO 2 months ago
The hate-filled far left are the mirror images of the hate-filled far right. If the SWP and the BNP didn't exist, they'd have to invent each other. There's no difference between wanting to murder Margaret Thatcher and wanting to murder all the millions of people who voted for her. Communism always leads to genocide, labour camps, and the end of freedom. People like killing other people, in 'the people's cause.' Shame on you.
donaldkingful 5 months ago
@donaldkingful
SWP?

Communism always turns to Red Terror in the end.

animalpark333 8 months ago 17
@animalpark333 The pits closed themselves I'm sorry to say. It's tragic what happened to all those workers but in reality there was no future for coal mining in the UK. Those coal mines were heavily subsidised and cost everybody in high energy prices. The union bosses had their own agenda to push and they sent many a young man to his death to dig in mines that had only a few tonnes of coal left. Thatcher had only two options - let this continue at the peril of the country, or cut the subsidy.
