Hi malagasy people! My name is André, I am from Brazil and I think very interesting your culture, music, and all thing from Madagascar. I am very interesting in the game fanorona, specifically in its use as a divinatory art, like to see the future. Here in Brazil is very difficult to think information. Can you give infomation about the use of fanorona as divination art? I would be very gratefull. My email is andreguimster@gmail.com.
Thanks for that. There's another beautiful Madagascan song "Oay Lahy E" used for the end credits on the excellent Werner Herzog documentary - "Little Dieter Needs To Fly" (more hair-raising stuff!) Cheers.
I wish! I only had a compact digital camera, and that was all the memory available, one song... There was another guy there who filmed the whole 'set' on a proper camcorder, but we didn't exchange details :-( We have dreams of either tracking him down, or returning to Masoala with the full kit another time. We will never forget the experience.
