  • WTC and Pentagon were not civilian targets for retaliation.

  • the beast is too much of a pussy to rear it's head! instead it puts out cumquats like blair!

  • tony blair is a puppet too!

  • why is it that a minority of european involvement is number one you tube for disapproval of involvement in iraq?

  • would you like a name? lets start with...geneen.(sp) or Rupert. and Ted. begin there. and whatch their puppets fall before them. you might wanna stock up food though.

  • republican puppets lied-democrat puppets lied, they are just the same as your son soldier. they are victims too. they are not the puppet master. whom is?

  • keep up uhe good work.

  • what an ugly wumin talks like someone from parkhead area.bet shes on benefits.

  • Rose is such a brave woman to speak up the way she does. She speaks for many women I know who've lost their sons in the war. I pray some day our young men and women won't be exposed to danger.

  • Bless you. Bless the troops!

  • well done Rose ....keep speaking out against the goverment and the war ....rip Gordon !

  • I feel bad about your loss, My sons just a few years older and wanted to join the forces. We had a heated battle over it. He did not join and i know theres no amount of support given that can ever take away that pain. God bless you.

  • I am sorry for your loss, Mrs Gentle and you are doing a brave thing - I wish you all the luck in the world to succeed.

Soldiers, if you have a conscience, listen and think! You are not fighting on behalf of Europe or your Country over there. You are there so that America can free up troops to invade Iran! It's time to come home...

  • politics aside respect to a brave lad RIP.

  • Mrs Gentle is an admirable and valiant woman. i think she has done a great job in bringing awareness to the problems faced by the troops in iraq, who have been fighting an illegal war, on the orders of that blinkered idiot blair

  • God bless you! STOP THE CORPORATE WAR!!!!!!!!!!!

  • RPG... get down... !!!BOOM!!! whats the point of these video's.

  • fuck you fuck all of you who think of this as funny gordan was a nice guy liked his football a went to school with his sister this messed uo their family and for what blair licking bushes arse

  • Brave woman.

  • who says im not an army man??? The war is regrettable... but still necessary in making the world a better place, u may look at current casualties, but in the long run thousands have been saved that cannot possibly be denied.... and at the end of the day, the people we are now fighting are fanatics out to kill all non islamics, its us or them

  • You're wrong, my man-there is a civil war there, no end in sight, and people are not going to fight a phony, drawn out war, to instill democracy on a country torn apart by civil war, with money we don't have; let me break it to you idealists, the government NEVER goes to war to help people.

  • you call that support???? Rose you offend your sons memory by this, hez a hero... how do u know your son wasnt equipped??? u dont uve never been there

  • The government admitted that he wasn't equipped - the kit was sat in a store room. What do you know about Gordon Gentle? Was he your son? To say that opossing the war is an insult to Gordon's memory is disgusting - Rose has a right to speak her mind about the death of her son. Go learn some respect.

  • i have respect for the troops and those involved with the war effort... those scummy protestors do not, while they all sit in their uni lectures, smokin weed and shit... people are out there dying for other peoples freedom in selfless acts, while these people spit on their graves

  • Opposing the war is not spiting on people's graves, only people with no real arguments say that. That's why you paint this silly carriacature of people who oppose the war - when in fact it's the majority of the people who oppose the war.

So what do you think of the soldiers who come back from Iraq and speak out against the war then? You obviously support the "war effort". Why don't you join up and fight yourself if your so impressed?

  • only the bad things in Iraq are publicised... what about every mosque, school or home that is built? why is that not in the news????

  • because that is less important than 50 people being killed in a bomb attack, an increase in infant mortality, more torture than under Saddam, poor electricty supplies, raw sewage in the streets etc The big picture is getting worse as every NGO and think tank that has looked at Iraq confirms.

  • If 50 people in the UK died from bomb attacks every week what would you expect the BBC to spend most time covering? And if somebody then said "what about the good news? what about all the schools being built?" It's mistaken to think that repairing schools and giving sweets to kids is really going to alter things fundamentally in Iraq when compared to the REALITY. Thats why even the top brass are calling for withdrawl

  • bullshit

  • You only know Gordon Gentle's name because of Rose Gentle, otherwise he would just be another anonymous soldier to you - one that you claimed to support sitting in the comfort of your armchair

  • strength and peace to you.

    ONEWORLD ONELOVE

  • I solute you, Rose Gentle! Keep up the good work, sister.

    Peace and love

  • i agree that we need to pull out of iraq, but not before the job is done, we may have made this mess but now we need to clean it up,

and the war in afganistan isnt just fighting for the victims of 9/11 but the victims of the july the 7th bombings, in afgan we are also rebuilding the country turning rubble into schools, hosptials and good living

  • ... and killing loads of civilians. The 7th July bombers weren't afghans, you don't need to go to a training camp in Afghanistan to learn how to make bombs.

  • She lost her son in somebody elses unneccesary war. Can you blame her?

  • Decertion by any way or means is against the LAW!! Does Mrs Gentle support law breaking? The very thing she says Tony Blair and his Goverment have done?

  • What Rose is objecting to is the abuse of the loyalty of British soldiers by this government. That is why there is a recruitment crisis in the British army, because soldiers are leaving in disgust, many are going AWOL, not because they are cowards but because they are sick of being used to fight for the policies of a US government that has been hijacked by a bunch of right wing crazies.

  • I agree that British and the Americans should let the Iraqis provide their own security, but unfortunatly pulling out our troops out of Iraq will not end the Radical Islamist's war against the West, my friend.

  • yes, unless we withdraw from Afghanistan and stop supporting Israel to the hilt

  • That is called "Appeasement" and is definitely the very last thing that I would support.

  • oh shut up man, my brother's in the army and he says the only people who go AWOL etc etc are people who can't handle the pressure of military life, i doubt "unemployed youths" from scotland are going to have knowledge of world politics.

  • your brother's talking shit..

  • tell me man, who is likely to know more about the moral of the british army, a soldier serving in it or you, a simple civilian?

  • plenty of soldiers serving in the army are saying that Iraq is the main reason recruitment is falling. Maybe your brother would like to explain why the numbers going AWOL have trebled since Iraq and why the head of the british army thinks Iraq is damaging morale. Stop hiding behind your brother 'man'

  • recrutment figures are not down, that is a complete myth. Ask the majority of soldiers in the army, They WANT to go to iraq and afganistan.

  • Recruitment figures may not be down but they can't keep up with the number of people leaving - more leave than join and those that leave are experienced soldiers - read what Dannatt said, the army will be broken because they can't sustain war on two fronts with a shrinkin armed forces. I don't care if soldiers want toi go to Afghanistan or Iraq - I don't want to pay for it and neither do the majority of UK citizens.

  • on what survey do you base this? Im a UK citizen and i dont support Iraq, but fully agree with Afganistan, and personally feel more needs to be put into it. I think youll find most people do not oppose to paying taxes for the military in afganistan.

  • The survey I'm basing that statement about recruitment on is the National Audit Office report Nov 2006. I think you'll also find that the polls show the majority of the UK public is opposed to the current deployment in Afghanistan - 53% against according to the BBC poll last year.

  • I'd say 1/2 civilians 1/2 soldiers, don't think that just because your brother is in the army that hes got it all worked out. Mostly the increase in people going AWOL is due to people realising the war was wrong. People are realising that the goverment is lieing to them. Either way we must support our troops.

  • ergh can't be bothered with this again, war isn't wrong if you're fighting people who would have started a war anyway, it's not like Saddam was saying before we invaded, "please America, Britain, UN let us all be friends", he was instead saying "I've fucked my people over for 30 years, i'm not gonna let you guys take that away from me and when i'm gone, my sons will carry on my violent rule"

  • Is that really the way you see it? If we were going to do anything about Saddam and his crimes we would have done it years ago mate. The war was not about that. Infact they had to try and justify it with fake WMDs. To be honest i dont really care, look at it as you will, but know that there are no winners from this war on terror and its getting worse.

  • The Silent Majority of Americans and Britons believe in reasons behind fighting this war, it always looks as though everyone is against the war because the only people that say anything are those against it, the Silent Majority prefer to stay out of debates like this because it's useless trying to get people like you to forget your warped vision of the matter - was it a fake WMD Saddam used on the Kurds? or in Iran? If you don't care why did you comment? Finally, I'm not your 'mate'.

  • Ahaha not true, there are tuns of people you could talk to that do not usually debate this matter. And they all think Bush and Blair are idiots and the war was wrong. They just havent got a backbone to speak. My first comment was to see how you react. Thats why i said i don't care on the second because i can see what your all about. Who do you think supplied saddam with weapons? "mate"

  • I'm sure when your boy joined the service they explained to him he could end up seeing some action. Be thankful that he didn't get his scruples from you.

  • I agree its not a Holiday, a means to travel the world or should it be a quick fix because of the lack of jobs!

  • "Recruitment into the Scottish battalions has fallen between 10% and 15% over the years since the war on terror and the war in Iraq broke out....Army recruiters and regimental pipers will be in Clydebank Shopping Centre tomorrow, aiming to attract unemployed youths with the promise of a career and travel"
