  • @Mrnjo29 I though Spyker bought saab?

  • I just got mine today! Although (unfortunately) I'm from the UK so I have to make do with a 2L rather than a 3.OMFG V6 :(

I've come from an Alfa Romeo so it's a big change! Absolutely loved it though - very refined, very smooth. No nonsense or drama; put your foot to the floor and away you go.

  • This car will forever be known as the spidermobile

  • a 30 year old who looks like a 17 year old surfer....hmm

  • Mazda own by ford? But isn't Mazda Japanese?

  • @columbuscrewfan20 Mazda was a Ford product, but Mazda is now on their own. Yes Mazda is a Japanese manufacture but that makes no difference... Think about it, GM owns Saab. Chrylser is part of VW, and Audi, oh and also Bugatti. So just because its a foreign company doesn't mean an American company cannot own it or buy out part of it.

  • @adiosk8r91 : mazda is mazda.. mazda is not ford..

  • @jazmine1292 No shit. Mazda WAS Ford just like I had said in my comment. Read closely

  • Handsome looking car except it's slow as a turtle compared to it's class..

  • @Zhorellski The 6 was never about being fast. Its a canyon carving sport sedan. I own a first gen and can shame just about anything in the twisties. Not the best at the drag strip, but I didn't buy it for that. The new motor is a Mustang motor though, so its nothing to look down on. Get some tuning and a couple bolt-ons and this car will come alive.

  • im not sold on the styling. i like the old 6 and 3 better. it has a kizashi rear or the kizashi has a 6 rear

  • This is why I used to love driving my Mazda Protege. Handling was awesome which made it fun to drive and it hugged the road really well. I always felt safe in that car. I got a chevy cobalt now but sometimes I wished I stuck with Mazda.

  • @modelchic99 Why did you get rid of the Protege? Such a good car! The Cobalt is a rental car, no offense. Well maybe get another Protege in the future.

  • The mazda 6 body exterior is poorly made, especially the exhaust. They have a nice shaped chrome exhaust, but inside is a circle exhaust which doesn't look right or looks very flaw. The paint job is terrible. i've seen two new mazda 6 at the dealer that had distinguished paint marks. Plus rear of the car looks very ugly. Engine sounds bad,i thought the sound of the CVT was bad, but the Mazda 6 is worse. Plus the transmission does not shift as quick.bottom line, poorly made car

  • i like this guy. nice reviews by him

  • why does this look better than mercedes/bmws?? if the 6 had a benz/bmw badge, it would easily pass as a high end luxury sedan

  • @Brawn that's what I changed my mind to get this instead of a BMW or Audi.Style is more important than brand ;)

  • I picked mine up yesterday :) Red just like the review here.... what a great handling car! Interior is much larger than the exterior suggests.

  • hey are you tall? because im 6'4 and this car interests me but im wondering if i fit!

  • @RAMSBONES i'm 6'5" and there is PLENTY of room. I don't even have to scoot the seat up when I want other people as tall as me in the back seat. I checked before i bought.

However I do have to say the sunroof does lower the headroom, so I didn't get the sunroof option on mine.

  • @kayomichael Thanks for that, I'm 6'5' also and I will be test driving one of these this week just because it looks like it has a lot of legroom for a midsize. People think because we are tall people we must want some gigantic car which of course is false lol.

  • @RAMSBONES well go try it??

  • ZOOM -ZOOM FOREVER!!

  • I want this to be my next car.

  • The engine sounds good. It would be awesome if they could make this a rear driver. I know that probably would never happen, but still would be cool to see.

  • Just picked up the V6 sport wagon 2007, great car to drive alongside my Maxima.

  • i just bought this car (2008 model) today, it's my first car...omg it's so amazing. love, and only $13,000, For a 1 user preowned one..in good quality.

  • I would buy one if they didn't put extra 4inches into the body of the car....Disappointed in that

  • I wish Mazda would come out with a Mazda 6 coupe to show off. I bet it would knock Honda Accord coupe and the Nissan Altima coupe

  • Excellent Idea! I bet the coupe version of this car would be a knockout!

  • What about a Mazda 9 (All new Millenia) , something to compete with the Maxima and the Avalon, I think that it is time for Mazda to venture back into that market since they have gotten their sales up within the last 10 years to show off theri progress

  • I think the Mazda 6 Grand Touring V6 is enough to compete against those near luxury models too. It certainly drives like a Maxima and even an Acura TL (front-wheel-drive model). The Avalon is too floaty and big.

  • ME TOO!!

  • @heroheroic You're right! I'd get one.

  • Anyone know how quick the 4-liter is? I was gonna try and get the V6, but I'd rather get a loaded I4

  • >HIV headlights

    wat

    jk ;)

  • Just got a 6 i sport. I can see Mazda taking away market share from the usual names in the near future. The bang for the buck is unmatched. Great ride, even with the 2.5L engine!

  • The best review I found on Youtube but I think the reviewer could work on his attire for the video.

  • My dad got it on 2008. But it is a model of 2009

  • mazda. doesnt have brandname authority but has the quality to back it

  • i hate torque steer.. which is why i have always had a subie... its just a personal thing

  • yea? how are your gas prices for a liter of gas :-p

  • 87, 89, 91/93 depending on the state. But cool cars like mine run 110. Yeah, btw, 110 is leaded, suck on that.

  • woooooooooow 93 that is for trabant even that engine would get broken on such a crappy fuel :-DDD and cool cars like yours ??? 110 ??? what kind of cau u have dude 110 is an average performance of 1.2 or 1.4 L engine in europe :-DDD even your lovely ford puts 1,25 and 1,4 and 1,6 engines for EU market cause we look at the restrictions of emisions and the only way they can sell it is to make a small engine with lots of power and good performance ,, suckeeeerz :-)

  • by saying "cool cars", i was being funny. congrats on having higher octane fuel? Im sure you yourself had something to do with it. Oh, and btw, there is no replacement for displacement.

  • @rycsy13 you realize that europe uses a different rating system for octane than the US right? Europe widely uses RON and the US uses AKI. 99 octane in europe is the same as 93 in america. suck on my left dick, bitch.

  • lol, the new honda passes by

  • I like his vehicle reviews; straight-forward and the information you need.

  • There should be a manual transmission for the V6!!

  • Love love love Mazda 6! Just so fun to drive!

  • the old mazda 6 was such a sporty sexy ass looking car now its a luxury car.. :( looks like a cross between the altima and the accord.

  • Has anyone ever test drove the 4cyl AND the V6? Is there a significant and noticeable difference in power?

  • 272 horse power vs 170hp..........you do the math

  • For SimpsonTide985,

    The 6i auto-sportmatic 0-60 is 7.9 seconds. 6s auto-sportmatic 0-60 is 7.1 seconds, 6s manual 0-60 is 6.4 seconds. Some people put on drag tires on the 6s and get 6.1 seconds.

  • looks like a cross between an altima and g35. i think the previous gen 6's looked better

  • yh i think so 2 this looks like a mixed mercedes G with CLS , with a monotone smilie face on the front, all thoue i like the headlights and the back + exaust pipes :-) looking forward 4 the MPS version

  • I have a 2004 I4 model. I was able to get up to 34mpg. That was before I put 50k miles on the car.

  • Where does 35mpg highway for the 4cylinder come from? it says 21/30 right on the mazda website. how can a car that size get 35mpg from a 2.5l 4, with 170 hp?

  • whats the 0-60 time?

  • I just bought this car :)

    ZOOM ZOOM BABEH!

  • lol, looks JUST like an M6, seriously

  • hell no

  • Comment removed

  • mazda's are better than chevy's and the good thing is that ford has bought it making it an american car. they are the best economical/sport car company. wouldn't buy any other for my first car.

  • Not quite Relly. Ford owned over 50% of Mazda in the early 90s, however over time Mazda has been buying shares back to where last year Ford only owned around 34%. Then at the end of last year Ford were trying to offload almost all of their remaining shares in Mazda because they need the money. Strange when Mazda is one of the most profitable arms of the Ford empire... Don't worry, Mazda's heart is still very firmly ingrained in Japan, otherwise it would not be as good as what it is.... ;-)

  • On a side note, if American cars were meant to be so good, why then are the 'big 3' US auto manufacturers in the most financial strife??? Food for thought. :-)

  • Because they went the route of the SUV and nobody wants them anymore.

  • lol ur not seriously blaming all there problems on them selling SUV's..its alot more than that

  • Of course its not the only problem but in the 90s they switched from focusing on cars to SUVs. Think about how many plants that build SUVs have closed.

  • My 2008 Mazda 6 clearly says Made in USA all over it. It was built in Flat Rock, Michigan. It's American =] But a lot of the other fleet is still in Japan, you are right about that.

On a side note, I really don't like this new design. I really wish we had the European Spec, cause the USD Version is MUCH bulkier and just looks like a boat.

  • this guy likes everything

  • i think he's australian

  • let's be honest

The car looks like nothing special, which is to be expected...however performance looks respectable and looks fun to drive

  • mazda is the best...

  • he really liked this one didnt he :)

    i like it 2

  • i used to have a 1991 mazda porgete that was red

  • i love mazda i've oned my 97 626 es v6 since 97 and i only had one prob da timin belt broke sure mazda has had their run ins but who hasn't u just gotta take care of em especially dat 2.5liter v6 but its a great motor and i test drove this new 6 its amazing im buyin a black s model this spring. goo mazda! my wife has a 04 altima dam thing cant stay outta da shop recall an dumb stuff keep goin wrong

  • lol mazda engine is gutless

  • i'm not against toyota or anything, but what happened to previous major recall of toyota?

  • i'm guessing that mazdas are usually driven harder than the toyotas, nissans, & hondas

  • no , mazda is fun to drive ! i have 5 mazdas

  • Yea really?

    I have 50..

  • what kind of mazda's do U own?do u know a minivan called mazda e2000??

  • mazda offer good quality ! dont compare it with the old mazda !

  • test drive this car!!! its amazing..

  • I had the previous 6. The best car I ever drove. I loved that car until I had to sell it this year. This new one looks even better. Don't know about driving it though, the last one was about the perfect size for me. About 8/10 the size of a camry and 9/10 size of accord. This new one looks huge, but I'm sure Mazda did theri market research and it's what americans want.

  • Looks great.

  • haha, this is funny, and not in a good way, I confess myself a mazda owner (not this one) and fan, and honestly who understand you people when the first generation mazda appeared all people liked it but then most said "no this is way to small for me" or "to slow for america", the fact is 212 hp is does not make a slow car. Then this fantastic 6 comes along and you people say, o "no this is way to biggy, fatty and heavy to me", we should get the smaller, lighter less powerful european one, damn!

  • To the people questioning mazda's quality, I myself own a mazda 323 98'(I live in Europe) and so far it has been very reliable, lovly to drive, very cheap to maintain and drive(I've only had it in 6 months though). I also know that mazda has improved greatly on reliability last few years,(at least here in europe) even exceeded toyota and honda (being in 1 place) in couple of testing results I saw... and another thing, I've never heard about an unhappy mazda owner...

  • I prefer the JDM version.. it looks better somehow...

  • I agree. Its hatch with sport pkg in other markets looks amazing.

  • im sorry, but this mazda6 for north america is a hulking failure. the mazda6 the rest of the world gets is the same length as the prev gen usdm 6. and not to mention, its BEAUTIFUL and comes in hatch and wagon variants.

  • Excellent review! Someone who actually understands the auto market.

  • well i think you need to wake up then...many cars are creeping their way up in having good build and quality. sure accords and camry's are top sellers and they're everywhere. it's just not as exciting seeing an accord or camry than the new mazda6. there are people out there that don't want a boring car ya know.

  • Your statement doesn't make logical sense. Just because hondas outsell mazdas does not mean hondas are better cars. many other reasons could be involved.

  • Ya, Hondas are cheaper then Mazdas. And Americans for the most part are cheapass pricks who confuse their cheapness for value driven sense. Fact is, most Americans are cheap and they like cheap things they are used to.

  • Oh, ya, but you would buy American cars? haha. If people made some fucking sense, they would listen to them.

  • i'm glad the mazda 6 is better.but's he's a lil off: the 6 is almost as long as the accord, maybe 1/2 shorter. Who cares if this does or doesnt beat accord or camry? I know that those drivers don't care if people think their cars are ugly or overrated or over priced! So i'm glad that this and the malibu look nice and are much better, but leave honda and toyota alone. they don't care if they'r not number 1! they just want to make good cars like everyone else! they're not slipping, either.

  • The 6 exceeds the accord/camry in interior and trunk room, and styling. Sadly the stickshift is only available on the 4cyl Please someone care to tell me why I should get the accord and camry over this.

  • Very pretty car, but somewhat unreliable on launch. Most of the times won't be fast, even with so good torque.

  • what really would be interesting with mazda is if they put a rotary engine as an option.

  • this car PWNS the Camcord

  • And NO manual available in the 6 cyl.

  • FORD!!! UGH!!! Plus they bit my beloved LS 460 with those rear exhaust! The biters!!!!

  • Mazda was made by FORD!! I don't know if it still is though!! I like it, but I don't know!!! They'll have to show & prove for me!!!

  • Mazda are owned by Ford - not made!

I've been to the Mazda factory in Hiroshima (Japan) twice. The Japanese attention to detail and quality cannot be matched. It's built into the culture.

    Ford - not likely

  • ford owns mazda, but does not make them (thank god).

  • ford owns only about 33% of mazda

  • mazda was never made by ford, numbnuts

  • Exactly. Mazda made engines for Ford, not the other way around. I laugh everytime American car pushing nutjobs talk about how great Ford Taurus was and is. Uh, that's mostly Mazda numbfucks.

  • i really like the design of this car, i think they did a good job with the exterior. certainly beats the camry, which looks like it came out of someones ass

  • Yes, but the Camry is reliable, while the Cx9 had the worst reliability in its class, if it can be compared to that.

    Source- Consumer Reports

  • yeah but thats the cx9. totally different car and class. i just really dislike the new toyota designs, both exterior and interior. im just holding a grudge against them for dropping the supra and any other sports car they had

  • It is a different car, but keep it shares many underpinnings and the same engineers designed both. This is how Toyotas, Lexuses, Hondas, and Acuras have a REPUTATION for building considerably reliable vehicles. Land Rover, for example, has a reputation for building poor quality vehicles because all of their vehicles come out with poor reliability.

More people should consider reliability when purchasing, as it makes a huge difference. All cars are not created equal!

  • and Mazda's have been pretty reliable, very durable. Doesnt Toyota/Lexus have engines that sludge themself to death? and doesnt Honda/Acura have lower ball joint problems and crappy Civic and J-series V6 automatic transmissions that eat themselves every 50K?

  • Pathetic argument. You argue against generalized opinions with your own generalized opinion? Fact is, most Toyotas and Hondas last well into 100,000 miles without a major problem. Only GM cars sludge themselves to death.

  • Didn't CX-9 win SUV of the year by being reliable?

  • No, Motor Trend and other popular magazines do not consider reliability for and of their reviews, which is clearly a major fault.

  • Hm, that's true. But I believe JD. Power & Associates have given the CX-9 an overall reliability award. Maybe I'm wrong?

  • That may be true, but JD gives some very "wierd" reviews out, like the Jag S Type being one of the best in its class, when CLEARLY they are not. Also, I remember, the MB E winning a quality award, when common sense tells you nothing coming out of MB is best in its class for quality.

No wonder Consumer Reports is the most trusted source . . .

  • Aha true.

  • Another fat car =/

So bad that the American public won't buy anything smaller even though most people drive by themselves. Everything is based on 200+ bhp and 3.0+ liter engines =/

  • Maybe look in another class. They build this car to compete against other mid-sized sedans. If you are looking at the mid-sized category and you still want a small car, this is what you get. Cars are getting bigger and bigger while the bigger cars get smaller and smaller. This offers adequate interior space but in a package that's more performance-wise than the Accord and Camry.

  • How ome this Charlie Romero fella gets all the sweet test drives in exotic and beautiful places?

  • what? ford sucks major balls, and theyre going under

  • I like Fords. Why is that so wrong. Its my opinion! I don't like Macs to much, but I am not giving anyone -3 on a comment rating. X(

  • i only gave you a thumbs down once so chill bro. i just dont see why you like fords...

  • Well, I just grew up with them...

  • No offense but that is the typical close minded response most people give when they defend why they like Ford or Chevy.

  • Yeah, I know. What car do you like?

  • Good Engine note

  • nice all around-solid car that we've come expect from mazda with an affordable price tag.

  • i dunno it just looks kinda too cute for me.and y'all know cute is nice but sexy is an all different ball game

  • it look likes mercedes cls in the front

  • it looks a little like toyota corola and camry

  • Interesting to read your comment because when I first looked at the car I thought it really resembled the new Camry.

  • Its not bad. Not too big on the rear designing, but i guess i can look past it.

  • I thought that MPG number for the 4-cylinder was a bit high...it's 21/30.
