  • @IDIDieselJohn I'd MUCH rather listen to a good old fashioned buzzer rather than an elevator style DING!! DING!! reminder chime or even worse, A synthesized "Electronic Voice Alert" that says, "Please Fasten Your Seat Belts", "The key is in the ignition." "The headlights are on." and "The door is ajar." A friend of mine had an '83 T-Bird Heritage with that option and he thought it was the coolest thing in the world!! "Buzzers are better!!!" I told him, He thought I was wacko for saying that!!!!

  • One person likes justin Berber

  • I`ve got a 1990 Ford Econline diesel. I LOOOVE IT! Greatest car in the world. I get happy just starting it, but that`s nothing combined to driving it.

  • i had an 88 club wagon which was the Econoline 350 luxury package. It had the old reliable 7.3 IDI diesel it was an awesome van

  • We had a 1977 27 foot Ford Class C Motorhome with a body by by a California company called Roll-A-Long that we bought used in '83 & kept til march o '90, It had a 460 V8 with an 800 cfm Holley 4 barrel carb, It didn't have any buzzers at all, the seat belt light came on but there was no accompanying buzzer, There also wasn't a Key In Ignition buzzer either, I guess whoever owned that rig before us got sick & tired listening to those buzzers every time he drove it & disconnected the fuses to them

  • It's only a plug right on a little plastic box witch is the buzzer, you just disconnect it.

It's under the dash, normally on the right side of the column. it's a white or sometime silver box.

  • I figured it was probably something like that, I remember there was a similar setup like that on my family's 1980 Volvo 265 GLE station wagon from reading the Owner's Manual. I remember that buzzer sounded like the Dive alarm in a submarine, BEEP!! BEEP!! BEEP!!! BEEP!! DIVE!! DIVE!! It never bothered me at all though.

  • THe only reason I don't like the old-style key buzzers is because they remind me of my dad's old 1980 Pontiac Catalina he drove in the late 90's- this son of a bitch car was so bloody ugly, I was embarrassed by it even being parked outside my house!

Aside from that, the buzzer's are okay.

  • very nice van!

    did they come in 4x4?

  • Not from the factory.

  • that interior dosent look like an 87 it looks like the 77s mines a 86 and dont look like that but i wish i hade that intierior in mine thats a nice truck tho

  • These Ford Econoline Vans had these interiors from 1975 to 1991.

  • yuppers. i had a '79. ,my father had a '77, also i had an '86 and a '91/ IIRC they used this interior untli the new econoline err new van body came about

  • same buzzer as my car

  • Luckey you eh lol!

  • haha, funny if door is open and you turn key to on theres a seperate buzzer and its extremely annoying with 2 buzzzers goingXD

  • Yeah haha me to it does that.

  • My 89 F250 has a little connector in the fuse panel area under the steering wheel. Just unpluged it... never buzzer for door or ignition.

  • Why would I do that? I love these things!

  • not saying you do this..., me neither, BUT some ppl the buzzer , liek foot pumping, is a fetish. the buzzers never bothered me either UNLESS the switch malfunctioned

  • You say some people that like these buzzers like pumping? huh first time I hear that. I like the buzzers but pedal pumping I find to pointless, but it's a fetish from i've heard. I don't really get it but whatever lol not my problem.

  • i hear ya, it to me is like WTF? whatever floats your boat. ( to them)

  • Yeah WTF is right lol

Not only that but, most of them they use old carburated cars, pump the shit out of 'em, flood it for no reason, drain the battery and fry the starter!

If you ask me, sounds like a costlly fetish!

  • Maybe they had not discovered pornography, and what they can do afterwards Eh?. ahh well a fetish is usually like a fad. eventually ( like clothing styles) goes away

  • 75-91 ford vans can inflict alot of damage to other vehicles in a accident almost every accident I've seen when one of these van were involved I'd pity the other car even the 92-09 vans are the same way (except the long vans)respect the 6.9!!!

  • Wow. I own a 1977 351M. I never realized the interior never really changed over the years. I'll have to find an 87 and gut it. Really nice.

  • Your 77 must have the Ignition switch on the dash though? It's really the only difference they made in all these years.

  • mmmmmmmmm. the smell of DIESEL POWER in the morning

  • Ok was gonna ask the same question......Didn't realize it was a van. Sorry man thought you were high there for a minute

  • yea i have the same dash in my 78 f150

  • how is this a 87. when the dash looks like its from about 70 to 79

  • Ford had these dash up until 1991 in these vans. In trucks it was till 1986 and Ford cars was till late 70's.

  • that buzzer is not as annoying as the one that was in my. dodge dakota. your buzzer is nostaligic.

  • How annoying was the buzzer in your Dakota and what did it sound like?

  • gotta love the ol Diesels

  • Sounds and looks great, Jonathan! :) Jack

  • diesel atamatics are bad because engine is to torqey and breaks the atomatic =junk but i have a rebuilt one for sale 1100 bucks

  • Lol who doesn't know that but they never made motorhomes with standards and the standards in vans are the standard on the columm (3 in the 3) but this automatic has been up and down big hills, flying down highways and we never had a problem with the trans and it's the original with almost 240000 miles on it.

  • nice start up!

  • Gotta love that old buzzer that is really old school I have only ran into a handful older than this pickup with this type of buzzer.

  • you like that buzzer ? lol I hate it on my Mustang haha so annoying at 7am when I almost just jumped outta bed haha

  • LOL nice ya I like these old buzzers I know a lot of people don't lol.

  • My parents had the same buzzer noise in their 1986 Ford Mustang LX hatchback, and it was very annoying. I like these old buzzers myself, and I know a lot of people don't.

  • The one in my parents' 1977 Chevrolet Nova Concours used to scare the SHIT out of me!

  • LOL it's like a bomb waiting to go off eh.

  • That one sure the hell was!

  • lol I know what you mean my Grand Father has a 1977 Lincoln you should hear the buzzer that thing has.

  • Does he have a channel here?

  • thanks for posting, i knew the 75-91 ford e-series where based on the 73-79 ford trucks, but i have not got a good look at the dash cluster, it appears to be the exact same one! and the exact same style of steering wheel! these vans even have the same body line (dentside) and the same taillights! and side marker lights! cool video!and the diesel sounds sweet!thanks for posting! i would like to see a complete once over of the whole van? inside and out and under the hood? thanks if ya could

    -Brent

  • They sure are the same body line (dentside) as the old 73-79 Pick-ups with the lights in the fender in the bodyline witch is awesome to bad they don't make em like that no more. I can make an outside video of this beast but not for another few months cause it's stored for the winter, it's an RV so if you do want to see the Van part on the outside it's only the cab part. And yes these old steering wheels were in many old Fords like the Crown Victoria, Lincolns too :D

  • I noticed that too...I have a 78 Ford pickup and the dashboard is exactly the same, only on the truck the ignition switch is on the dashboard. The steering wheel is also the same as on my 78 Grand Marquis.

  • You have a 78 Ford pick-up!! Do you have a video of it I gotta see that thing the 1975 and 1978 Ford trucks are my dream trucks. Yeah to bad they don't make these dashs anymore me personnally I think these are the best dash set up Ford ever made and they look awesome too :D

  • I'll try to make a video of it soon...it is not driveable and has holes rusted through the floor! The engine did run though about 6 years ago.

  • Rusted out floors been there done that well... I should say been through that LOL wow sat for 6 years, damn that would make one hell of a cold start. but still yeah do a vid of it when you can.

  • That's actually the seat belt buzzer. The door isn't open.

  • Ya it's for the seat belt and door, the door isn't open but when it is if the keys are in the switch it buzzes :D

  • ahh thats awesome! i cant wait to go to school for diesel, to be honest ive never really even saw one, i cant wait! keep your vidz coming man!

  • Aww John whats wrong with you ? Doncha know guys race greyhound bus sized Rv's now in addition to turbo diesel super trucks with 5th wheel trailers ? LoL......

  • Turbo Diesel? If not is it a dog?

  • No Turbo. Dog??? It's an IDI non powerstrock non turbo it's Stock.

  • Dog as in moves real slow. Takes a long time to get up to speed.

  • Oh lol first time I hurd that. It's not that fast but the again it does weigh 11000 IBS and for it's weigh It sure has a lot of "Get up and Go power" Ofcorse not as much as a newer Diesel.
