  • Er why should snow stop you flushing the toilet? Did the water pipes freeze?

  • I see his rescue came in the form of a 4 wheel drive SUV from the looks of it. I guess instead of thinking of "saving the planet" by buying a Prius he should instead have thought of his family and bought a gas guzzling SUV. Eco-tastic vindication once again.

  • Welcome to the future, where power is a luxury that only the wealthy can afford, and rolling blackouts are the norm because "coal is evil."

  • You Americans can go on blaming politicians if you like.

Infact I sugest you protest and make signs and sing songs.....

However if you are shivering in the dark because of an ice storm, Hurrican, earth quake or some other type of natural or man made disaster, well its your own bloody fault for not have the foresight to to stock on suplies and plan.

It is your duty as a citizen to complain about politicians and vote. It is your responsibility as an adult to look after your own family

  • chopped wood is now known as "recycled carbon"? andy is a fool. i thought he saw the light but it must have been momentarily.

  • Look at the bright side. Thanks to gorebull warming it was warm snow.

  • Plan ahead all the right people have told you for years to have things on hand. Canned goods candles bottled water ect...

Add to that 1st aid kit ( and training ) alternative heating ( small Kerosene space heater for example ). Lanterns, camping stove, a transisitor radio, flash light and of course batteries.

Test your smoke detectors and fire extiguisher. In a real disaster the FD might not be able to get to you quickly.

    Do this for your family......

  • For the sake of your family, you should fire your Congressmen and Senators who voted for cap-and-trade. :-)

  • I sometimes wonder if in the long run we are better or worse off with occasional black outs. If they are too infrequent we can become perilously reliant on steady access to power. If too frequent it can be quite a nuisance. But a day or two every year or two might do some good to remind us both to be prepared and to appreciate the 99.5% up time.
