1. She's strong. Mentally, emotionally and physically. She's able to handle the fact that the man she loved betrayed her and still have it in her to seal him away in order to die doing her duty as a priestess.
2. She's compassionate. You see her taking care of wounded soldiers and children later on.
3. She's intelligent. She's the only one who comes up with a plan to kill Naraku. Aside from Naraku, she's

6. She doesn't complain. She's fighting a battle that puts her life at risk every day. Alone. That takes guts.

I especially like this episode....I remember when I first watched this episode years ago on TV I was also on the phone talking with my friend and when they kissed I just hung up on my friend in the middle of the conversation without saying bye.lol

@QueenAbominae14344 Actually, no she doesn't. Initially both girls dislike each other however by the end of the series those feelings are gone. I think Kikyo's lack of a grudge should be pretty obvious when she told Kagome not to cry and gave Kagome her bow before she died.
i have to say it's pretty entertaining to read all of these comments about how much people hate kikyo when it's apparent they know nothing about her and are formulating their opinions solely based on the fact they think inukag is a cuter couple. and if you think this comment doesn't apply to you and you hate kikyo...then my only conclusion is that you're really dumb if you're still able to find a single fault in kikyo
@101melodyroseheart Kikyo had reasons why she did what she did. She truly believed Inuyasha betrayed her, from the bottom of her heart. She loved him, and he her. She never found out what happened, since she died. You've got to kind of pity her in a way, since she died once, and then was brought back to life by someone who was trying to use her. Her attitude and anger is somewhat justified due to the fact that she was unaware that the two of them were decieved.

However, I should be clear that at the same time, I absolutely adore Kagome. Within the anime she is my second favourite female character next to Kikyo. @CloverTheFoxx actually if you know everything about kikyo's character you know she's kind-hearted, intelligent, helpful, empathetic and actually quite funny. it's important to take into account the restrictions that kikyo grew up with. basically, if kikyo had grown up the same way kagome had they would have had the EXACT same personalities. just thought i'd throw that out there :)

@QueenAbominae14344 Of course not. However I wouldn't label Kikyo has a deuteragonist either because of her significance in Inuyasha and Kagome's relationship. Not my point though. I used protagonist as more of way describe as someone might call "a good guy" (as opposed to antagonist). Furthermore, most people don't know off the bat what a deuteragonist is. And yes, I've been watching Inuyasha since I was about 9 so I'm pretty confident in my knowledge towards the show.

@QueenAbominae14344 Yes, she came back vengeful. However she soon overcomes those feelings and aims towards a common goal with all of our other "good guys" (killing Naraku). Furthermore, if you've watched the entirety of the anime/manga you're aware that apart from Sesshomaru and Jaken, Kikyo has personally saved every other character on the show. I feel like that qualifies her as "friend" not "foe". Someone who saves others isn't what I'd call a villain. Naraku, who's killed a ton of people is.
@11grace18 Of course but she still harbors a deep grudge against Kagome. True. She doesn't harm them but have you noticed that maybe it's on a whim? She saved them because of her hate for Naraku. True that Naraku has killed so many people and manipulated countless more but it's in his nature as being evil. Kikyo, however, should know better. The times she didn't cease to claim Inuyasha even when the truth of her death came out still qualifies her as such.
@QueenAbominae14344 Also, no I don't think so. Kikyo saving Miroku from the miasma made her weaker and it harder for her to defeat Naraku (which was her biggest desire since she hates him so much) but she decides to save his life. Near the end of the series she also leaves her light in Kohaku instead of using it to purify the jewel and Naraku, simply because she wanted Kohaku to have the chance to live. If it was due to her hatred for Naraku, she wouuld have killed Naraku and let Kohaku die.

There's a bitterness between them when they interact, mostly from Kikyo. She's changed alright towards the flow of the story but the fact that she can be quite villanous in her own way does not exempt her from that. What do you call a woman who survives by absorbing the souls of the dead? And out to get her ex-boyfriend?

True that she joined in the march against Naraku but that was after it was revealed so. Her Villain-ness comes from before that. Although the story plot were more merciful to her as the story went, what she did already etched in the viewer's mind (and every Kagomian out there). There's no objection. This woman has the makings of a perfect Villain.

@QueenAbominae14344 Feel free :) I think the fact that Kikyo peacefully told Kagome not to cry before she died is a pretty good indicator she doesn't harbor any ill feelings towards Kagome but there are other moments. As for acceptance of her fate, you get a pretty good indicator of that around the time the Band of 7 is brought back. She never found out what happened, since she died. You've got to kind of pity her in a way, since she died once, and then was brought back to life by someone who was trying to use her. Her attitude and anger is somewhat justified due to the fact that she was unaware that the two of them were decieved.

When she realized the truth for herself she no longer wanted that and instead focused on exacting her revenge on Naraku. The worst part is, usually nothing happens between Inuyasha and Kikyo but Kagome gets upset anyways. I used protagonist as more of way describe as someone might call "a good guy" (as opposed to antagonist). Furthermore, most people don't know off the bat what a deuteragonist is. And yes, I've been watching Inuyasha since I was about 9 so I'm pretty confident in my knowledge towards the show.

Furthermore, if you've watched the entirety of the anime/manga you're aware that apart from Sesshomaru and Jaken, Kikyo has personally saved every other character on the show. I feel like that qualifies her as "friend" not "foe". Someone who saves others isn't what I'd call a villain. Naraku, who's killed a ton of people is.

True that Naraku has killed so many people and manipulated countless more but it's in his nature as being evil. Kikyo, however, should know better. The times she didn't cease to claim Inuyasha even when the truth of her death came out still qualifies her as such.

Kikyo saving Miroku from the miasma made her weaker and it harder for her to defeat Naraku (which was her biggest desire since she hates him so much) but she decides to save his life. Near the end of the series she also leaves her light in Kohaku instead of using it to purify the jewel and Naraku, simply because she wanted Kohaku to have the chance to live. If it was due to her hatred for Naraku, she wouuld have killed Naraku and let Kohaku die.

True that she joined in the march against Naraku but that was after it was revealed so. Her Villain-ness comes from before that. Although the story plot were more merciful to her as the story went, what she did already etched in the viewer's mind (and every Kagomian out there). There's no objection. This woman has the makings of a perfect Villain.

And okay, to all the Kagomians: Guess what? Kikyo's not a villain! :D And if you honestly haven't figured that out after finishing the series then you need to start over :)

@11grace18 Yeah. I think so that too. I want to check the part you said that Kikyo reconciled with Kagome and accepted her fate. Other Kagomians out there won't be as understanding as I am. Know any good sites where they feature a full and decent Inuyasha episodes?

@QueenAbominae14344 Feel free :) I think the fact that Kikyo peacefully told Kagome not to cry before she died is a pretty good indicator she doesn't harbor any ill feelings towards Kagome but there are other moments. As for acceptance of her fate, you get a pretty good indicator of that around the time the Band of 7 is brought back. Hope that helps:) And sorry, if I did know a good site I wouldn't be here on youtube, would I? :P
