The killings in the Civil War of El Salvador was a mixture of discontent among starving people, a show off by " macho " right groups, and a simple desire to kill and make life more miserable for everyone by small groups of illiterate men. Do your homework. The leaders of the FMLN left the communist party of El Salvador because they did not want to start an armed struggle. The whole merging of rebel gropes were brought together by communist Cuba and Cuba supplied small arms to them. They were communists.

Monseñor Romero was killed by the gov, and those shots from the steps were at his funeral. I know many families who were torn apart by this, and trust me; Communists were there. It was fascism vs. communism in El Salvador and it was very dangerous. Guerrillas sometimes were commie, but usually just didn't like the fascist gov. do more research
