ferrets are so cute...:) I owned one, never had funnier pet. Well, mine behaved well, only went to bite visitors. That was to clarify ranking. I was 1st, he was 2nd, the rest he had bitten. Once. The ankle. When he was small, tried to bite me, too - then I had to knock on his nose, which discouraged him after a while.

I've been bitten by my own ferrets [well, polecats] countless times and they really don't hurt all that much.

Granted, their teeth are sharp and there's usually quite a bit of blood but half the time I don't even notice I've been bitten.

He certainly deserved that bite.

If you hold them correctly, they're unable to bite you. I thought an animal expert would know that.
