I invented a model identical to this one, I just don't leave any space in between the folded tip at the beginning, I make sure it's tight, though I don't think it really makes much of difference between both models. Technically, it's very similar to the classic paper airplane, but it has most of the mass concentrated in the front, which gives it a good edge for flying quickly and for long distances!
