You lose weight rapidly when you get these kind of infections. I had strep a few years back and I probably dropped 10 pounds in 3 or 4 days simply for the fact of how painful it is to eat and drinking anything acidic like apple juice or orange juice is like swallowing fire

Seeing videos like this irritate me because I bet I missed out on some yuckiness . lol. I've had about 3 or so strep throat infections in my life and I never thought to look in my mouth. That might seem like a lot... I seem to catch other peoples colds/illness. It sucks. I've developed this weird fascination for nasty pimples, cysts, infections, etc. Totally disgusting I know! Once I get my RN degree, I'm working in the infectious disease section.

I have this... my parents thought it was a simple cold and said I should wait it out... Guess what? I waited it out alright, FOR 3 MONTHS. Yes, if left untreated you can have this for months. I've been waking up everyday with a fever ALL SUMMER. So I thought, FUCK THIS, this isn't a cold. Went to see a doctor and I got diagnosed. Make sure you take all antibiotics, I only took half, thinking I wasn't sick anymore, it came back. So it's important to take ALL OF IT even when the symptoms are gone.

I feel you man I've gotten strep throat 4 times this year I have it right now and it's fucking killing me I went to the er a couple days ago with a fever of 104 once I get rid of strep I'm getting surgery, if I qualify for health insurance. thanx alot for the response, i think i might be dealing with the Epstien barr virus, can last 1-2 months, im not suffering from any huge white chunks, fever or any pain, just a slight discomfort in my throat, doc said to ride it out, so here i am riding it out, the white spots are on thr back of my throat not my tonsils and they dont come off, i have a neck ultra sound wednesday then im going to see my doc again about the spots if they havent gone away yet. thanx again

Virus went away about 5 to 6 days after noticing my tonsil the way it was.All in all, 7 days until I was almost normal again and able to work. Worst 7 days of my lifeThe doc at outpatient gave me the "Z-pack" a 1 a day pill for 5 days. It helped but not fast. I spoke with another doc recently 2 weeks ago and he said it should of been removed. =/ Good luck. My body is back on track and my tonsil is back to normal. Ask doc if you might have Mono, anemia, strep throat, or crap even check for swine.

Go to an ENT (Ear, Nose, Throat) specialist. It looks like an abscess, definite infection, possibly blocked salivary gland, or impacted tonsil stones - anyways - it ain't gonna go away on its own and what if the infection gets in your blood? Very bad - trust me. That dark color I see makes me even more worried. Please, if you have no insurance, go back to ER and force them to bring in the ENT on call for a consult immediately! If this hasn't cleared up already.... let me know! :)

Thanks for the input. The tonsil has shrunk back to its original size and im debating now weather or not I should have them removed. I recovered 100% with the Z-pack and much R&R. I was checking out some of your videos and they are pretty crazy lol. Thank you again for posting.
