I dont actually know, I've never seen a kart tire blow from speed. These are race specific tires and I've heard 250 mph, but I have never seen a kart go that fast. I know they wont blow at 170iash.
I have personally seen 152 with no problem whatsoever. A smaller tire should actually be able to have a higher speed rating in theory. Guys have gone well over 200 on salt. Like I said, pretty sure it is 250. I have never seen a kart tire blow from speed.
Thanks for bringing back some memories! Back in the late '80's, I ran an Invader with twin Parilla TT-21's. Duels died off on the West Coast by the mid '90's. What are you running now? TT-75's? I've been in 4-cycle sprint for years. Who makes good enduros these days? The problem is IKF's been spinning enduros towards sprint shifters and ICE's...there aren't many laydowns out here any more. Good to see duels still live, and enduro is strong in some part of the country!
if they are twin rotary valves that would awesome, i had a normal rotary valve on a basic kart and it was nuts, the old school le means typa starts is cool
They are reed valve. I've run a few rotary motors in my day too, twin carb 135cc on alky and such, very fast, not near as fast as these though. Thats the way kart road racing does it with the LeMans start. As long as you know how not to burn up clutches, you can spin the tires off the start.
i wish i was short enough to drive one

Are these Parilla Sudam 125's?
dillonbf 2 years ago
Most of these are Parilla TT-75s or Parilla Reedjets. The 100cc engines. We have a few sets of Sudams but dont often use them for the twin karts.
Crashspeed 2 years ago
I run in the UAS.
I'm looking for a dual carb Sudam.

what speed are the tired restricted to? I mean how fast before they blow?
dalejrfan800 2 years ago
until u poke a hole in them
kartracerkento8 2 years ago
I know, but I heard that kart tires shouldn't exceed 115 or so. Every tire has a speed rating bud, don't state the obvious.

my friend wrecked his kart because a tire that had only been used for 30 mins blew out at 105mph

@dalejrfan800 There's very little load on a kart tire, they very seldom have failures.

looks fun, but i couldn't watch more than 45 seconds of the video. Cutting in and out every 6 seconds gave me a headache.

yeah these are karts with 2 100c rotary valve engines, right? cool, would love to race one.
