@pdwade1 I don't think that's Zak playing drums; hard to be certain as I'm only viewing on my phone, but this guy doesn't sit like Zak, or play like him. I can certainly see how the drummer here appears kind of Ringoesque though...

I saw Ray on Letterman "You really got me". I'm an opera fan who thinks rock stopped with celluloid heroes. Anyhow, letterman performance was not great. Bad Chorus, bad arrangement. This however. . . "Waterloo Sunset" always cried for a chorus in my humble (yet surprisingly always correct) opinion.

You're so right, nduval! On the original recording, the Kinks made a great attempt at providing a choral background to the track. But adding a full chorus was what the song deserved! Just a wonderful piece of songwriting from a quiet, unassuming genius.

My wife and I were at this show. Ray was amazing. I was worried about how the choir would come off but it was absolutely beautiful, never the slightest bit cheesy. Thanks Ray! God Save THE KinKs!

I know some people are not into the choral arrangements, but as a die-hard KINKS fanatic, it was great to see the songs performed with the choir!! Wish Dave was there of course!!! Will see him in February at BB KIngs, and we will rock with Dave the Rave - Loved the Ray show, and thanks for posting!!! I was sitting right near you!!! God Save The Kinks! And, in Feb, "Imagination Will Be Real!!" Thanks again for the great quality post!!!!
