  • NAPALM BUTTON 1:11

  • Yeah WOW..This is the end my beautiful friend..

  • Look at me Ma, the yellow smoke is dancing!!

  • I like Nico's live version (from before I saw the film), but like the original as well (also frombefore the film was released). Brilliant film, excellent choice of intro music.

Have you read the book Heart of Darkness? Difficult but interesting to see where the story came from.

  • Thumbs up if you know this song WITHOUT beeing from apocalypse now!

  • now way they could ever write songs like this anymore what atime the 60s were

  • You're an errand boy.Sent by Grocery clerks. To collect the bill.

  • This really is the end my beautifull friend, the end

  • 44 people dont like the smell of napalm in the morning

  • Rock´n Roll is dead babe,yeah

  • i love this song! its so awesome that i dont find any words for it

  • Every minute I stay in this room, I get weaker, and every minute Charlie squats in the bush, he gets stronger.

  • sometimes im in bed and watch this movie then i think about how many people are gonna read this and think fuck what am i reading..

  • Great film with Marlon Brando and Martin Sheen

  • Its funny when Germans lecture us about this war..............

  • Apart from possessing one of the best movie intros (if not the best), does this brilliant movie also claim the highest number of memorable lines? I say it does. Coppola at his very best. The lighting alone has never been surpassed to this day. Sheen's head slowly emerging from the river has to be one of the many great haunting scenes in this awesome production. Apart from the perfect choice of using Morrison's song, the rest of the movie's music is also impressive. Thank you Francis!!

  • The End = Napalm GREAT

    Zippo, Winston and Martini Bianco

  • I'm not american but I have to admit this movie changed the world!

  • I'm going to the worst place in the world. Cable.

  • Every country in the world has made mistakes. I just hope people learned from it.

  • God Bless America!

  • @svintsitsky How about other countries?

  • @Jotgut That was my response to the complete and absolute idiocracy of the people here, who don't want to or simply not able to understand the role of the USA in the world

  • @svintsitsky The U.S.A.'s role in the world? I'm sorry but the vietnam war was just stupid paranoia on America's part.

  • @jcjordie21 My point was about present day America. Vietnam War was absolutely inevitable, it was some sort of catarsis for american society in 60s and 70s. Actually movie is depicting this very well.

  • PS: Nobody can fuck a whole country. It is physically impossible. Typing that is meaningless and juvenile. So please stop typing fuck usa or fuck germany or vietnam. The world is fucked enough, stop fucking it. If you have to fuck something, fuck your wife, fuck your girlfriend or boyfriend and if you don't have any of those fuck yourselves (it is possible). This movie is pretty great. The song is awesome. I am still bored and this is my second comment in youtube.

  • Schindler's List is an American movie which was directed by a Jewish-American man called Steven Spielberg. And as most of the people know, the story of the film is the Jewish genocide which was executed by the German military and goverment (Nazi) back in 1942-1945. So there is nothing to be proud of for Germans about Schindler's List. Of course if you are trying to be sarcastic, that's whole another story and not necessary, not cool. I am just bored and this is my first comment in youtube.

  • 43 total idiot's

  • @oligonare Wow what a result! Maybe cause the movie is mostly , shit actually made up as it goes along and Only really found is place in pop culture due to it's cast memorable scenes and soundtrack. (Oh and I just came here cause I like the song so don't tell me to go away)

  • @33COOLStreet

In 2000, Apocalypse Now was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant".

the movie has also over 25 awards and nominations BUT im sure u know better than all the other critics and specialits and everything u cant understand is a shit

  • @oligonare Perhaps you have never heard of something being hyped up , or overrated. And tell me , what exactly is there to understand about Apocalypse now? No big metaphor , no undertones of human nature or that of society , It's not like Lord of the Flies etc.

  • @oligonare And lastly , I try not to take too much notice of people who spell things like 'specialits' or 'Registry' Although , being Moroccan , I can't really blame you (The country's illiteracy rate has been stuck at around 50% for some years, with male literacy at 65.7%)

  • @33COOLStreet sorry man , for my english here where i live , we speak french , and yes u can insulte me if u dont have nothing to say or u feel a little bit idiot , PS : i live in Morocco doesnt mean i come from this country

  • this is the endddddddd

  • @LukasKlenke117

Well you have a lot to be proud of.....

Hello from Israel, Land of the Jews and the holocaust survivors...

  • @mraz1972ify Are you a survivor of the Holocaust? If I watch your age I dont think you are.

Even my Father was born 15 years after the end of the war and I can say that I AM proud of my country,

like the most other People in the world are, too.

So stop living in the past.

Greetings from Germany, the Country that lives in peace since 66 years

  • @ApocalypseNowSE

    Hi.

    First- you wrote nicely.

Second- You are right- Germany is a well rebuild country with great economy. I love the way your county came out of the war. The German people are not lazy....

And third - you are right again- no use living in the past.Germany and Israel are good friends and Germany are wathing our back against Iran and Syria, so thanks for that.

Peace on you, my friend, and the rest of the western and sane world.

  • I cannot believe how YOUNG martin sheen looked in this movie.

I was born in the late 80s, so all my life he was always a grey-haired old

man with his signature leathery face. He looks more like Emilio Estevez

than Charlie but they all look alike to the point of confusion.

  • @DeadIslandTrailers looks better than his son, for sure.

  • Martin Cheen <3 Best Movie ever

  • I'm here because outconsumer :D

  • why cant they make movies like this anymore,,, fucking hate all this cgi shit,,hollywood lost its balls,,,

  • Great opening. One of the weirdest songs ever. You gotta be doped up to understand it..

  • different key

  • They pitched Morrisons voice higher for the movie.

True story listen to the original version and then back to this one.

His voice is clearly higher in this one.

  • @DarkprinceCs it might just be for youtube... it's one of the ways around the copyright infringement

  • When my boyfriend at the time brought me to the mobvies to see this I wasn't impressed. But I like it now!

  • Matain sheen is better than charlie sheen

  • @stawaz It's MARTIN! Matain...Shi€€t.

  • @JohnACorp782 hahaha typo

  • Epic movie, epic song!

  • stupid machine....

  • @TheAngoooose Holland, retard. It even says so on my profile.

  • saw this first time about 2 weeks before signing my life away for 25 years, really wanted to be in a copter assault!

  • " I love the smell of Napalm in the morning"

  • фильм шедевр...на него еще долго ровняться будут

  • i saw this in high wycombe ,england on release , it was a sunday evening and back then ,you tended to get an audience with a good few b+++k kids(im not a racist)cos there wasn't much else to do i suppose, well they made so much noise, guess the film was too deep for em..a guy stood up shouted really loudly to be quiet(effing be quiet)and it worked for about 30's,,oh well.

  • awesome start to a movie. the bongalow boys went on a field trip to see this when it first came out and were blown away from the word go. i STRONGLY RECOMMEND

1-watch only at a cinema, its around now and then. it was made for cinema size so do it justice

2- savour it, dont watch too oftenand spoil trhe magicPS. if you get this kind of vibe then you might well like a book, 'dispatches' by michael herr, descibed by le carre as 'the best book i have read on men and war in our time"

  • 40 people don't surf

  • A mile stone in Cinema History!!

  • @19mmspanner

The song was originally about Jim Morrison breaking up with his girlfriend.

  • This song and this film = perfection.

  • the WAR is the END for people

  • I have the sudden urge to watch this movie

  • I don't understand how people can not like this.

    Great song, great movie.

  • I want to play this song 3 minutes 55 seconds before I die forever... That'll be a beautiful end that I can ever have...!

  • Best opening of any movie. Ever.

  • @wandererlain 2nd, Have you even seen The Lion King?

  • @NoxiousProductions No, I don't really dig most Disney movies. Maybe as a kid. I still like Fantasia, though.

  • @wandererlain agree.. i now hear the sound of the rotor blades at the start while brushing my teeth

  • @daspoooop This really rocked at the cinema. You could almost feel the heat of the flames and smell the napalm.

  • @wandererlain i can only imagine 8(.. your so lucky for seeing it in all its glory and i envy you .. i'll have to buy a home cinema to somehow get a crumby second rate feel to the cinema release 8(.. and maybe take some lsd >8D

  • @daspoooop Yeah, I saw it at a Notting Hill Gate Cinema in London in my 20s, when they released Apocalypse Now Redux. Don't know where you're at but they probably show it again at the flicks now and then. Maybe arthouse cinemas. It's still quite fantastic on a big LCD screen. I also was lucky to see an uncut version of The Exorcist around this time. Jesus, that freaked the hell outta me LOL

  • One of the best films ever made and one of the best songs ever written by the best band that ever formed. You dont listen to this, you soak it up because it feels like some kind of epiphany.

  • @SymonDymond I agree - exactly how I feel about his music - a totally enlightening experience

  • Amazing how quick the trees grew back after napalming. The soldiers must've got mad with heat and humidity and political confusion. I'm not standing up for the bad stuff they did, but it must've been a fukkin nightmare for them.

  • Nam - The Pearl of Asia
