wow, thanks for this video. I suffer from ptsd and I tried that swirling technique for the hell of it just now and it worked immediately. Wow, and I like this video because you're sparing me the time of checking out all these different types of treatments. Up until now I was really starting question how deep our psychotherapists could really get with us and felt that i'd never really make any progress. But just knowing that one technique worked gives me hope and I also enjoyed the other info.
I have watched several of your videos and your doing a great job. I have had C-PTSD my entire life it's been titled many things by many people. Know what is was all of what they said and more. It was first described to me as Amnesic-PTSD due to my forgotten past and how it was coming back on me through intense flashbacks. Once I had my memories I took them back and confronted my parents and they both confessed and then blamed every one else for what they did but their confessions helped me.
Yea I got some advice for vets like me with CPTSD and / or TBI; first off they shove a verbal baton up your ass for an hour and smack that DD214 medical discharge in your face That's the help I was given after 12 years of active duty. VA don't do shit, Gov don't seem to care, so please PLEASE be PRO ACTIVE in seeking help yourself! There are offices where the shrinks are combat vets themselves, albeit very rare indeed, but they exist! FIND THEM and get your ass back on track, troop. fmr. 3/75rgr
I swear I really want to talk to my Doc about alot of thing's but I don't know how too.... I don't know how to right our say stuff...... Can some people help me... Thank you in adavance....
@morshellz100 I suffered for too long. and did not get diagnosed until 33 yrs old. i also did not speak. Group therapy helps with verbal communication. therapy and healing will be constant and life long. But the new life is better.
PTSD is not a one time event; it can be multiple tramatizations. Also, I'm not sure where you got this information, but it's highly inaccurate. Firstly, lack of empathy is not a symptom of PTSD. I'm not sure if you are just personalizing this, but, this is not stereotypically a symptom. I have PTSD and am extremely empathetic, as are most with PTSD I've noticed. Being hypervigilant, hyper aware of our environment, people with PTSD are usually VERY acutely attuned to the feelings of others.
@Frenchntoastty Yeah I totally feel you on this.... I am more of a Security type of person... I have to make sure all the doors are locked and that everyone are in their places. It's alot on me now that I am older and sometimes I wonder.... I am glad to have found ppl with P.T.S.D. and that I can share my feelings with..... Thank you.....
@lovethewiccan3fl I suffer from a slight to medium case of SHC otherwise known as Spontaneaous Human Combustion. I haven't fully combusted yet, but I thought I'd reach out to others to see if they had experienced this rare disorder before I fully combust. You see,I don't want to be around others and put their safety in jeopardy as I might explode.I thought you'd be a good person to ask as you seem to suffer from an assortment of ABC's, that is the term I give all these new abbreviated conditions.
HI. Thanks for this video. It was very informative. I was told today that I might also have CPTSD and my doctor thinks I should give EMDR a try. How is that treatment going for you? Do you feel it has been helpful? I have also watched your video about the side effects of EMDR. I hope that you are doing well and wish nothing but the best for you. Take care.
Hi i have the same diagnos, and no dr ever told me to do meditation, intill a man help me out and told me to do meditation, it have been aloooooot help for, just do it.. my childhood was not good. but meditation and yoga help me out! i know it can help other poeple. the video is on youtube just write: how to meditate.. Good luck & Love
Stay AWAY from psychiatry & pharmaceuticals, the fluoride makes us hyper active. I am currently on a herbal that is supported by biochemistry & psychology. It repairs cortizol receptors. Its called Phosphatidylseriene Matrix. You should really consider it. Infact, do everything you can to NOT use fluoride at all, because it really deteriorates your brain quickly. Also stay away from caffiene. Read about decompartmentalization in psychology & Dr. Yehuda in biochemistry. study Amygdalla
Standard PTSD get dissability coverage, yet CPTSD & Infancy/generational is much more severe & get no coverage. Infancy is the most severe, do to the fact that you have memories with emotions with no file inside the folder. Dream terrors that never go away because you cant flashback to correct it. But something very unique happens in infancy PTSD, in rare cases a gene set is activated that hieghtens the 5 senses, raised accuity. We are VERY emotional & very powerful at memory recall.
@knightridernina Find a therapist who does work with thinks like EMDR, borderline personality, ptsd and dissociation maybe. Usually if they deal with all those things, they should also specialize in cptsd. You can search therapists in your area. Some sites let you do this by their specialty, and a lot of therapists have websites that list what they do, and they have emails where you can simply ask if they handle cptsd.
Thanks for the vid. I've never been diagnosed but I know I have C-PTSD. One of the biggest issues I have that I don't think you touched on much is the feeling of being completely different from everyone else...an alien or freak. It is so lonely feeling like nobody can or ever could understand you because you aren't like them at all...like you were born bad or wrong or something. It's so hard to explain just how strong this feeling is in words. Best of luck with therapy! Hope things get better 4U
Thank you. You really helped me right now with your open-heartedness and courage. It is inspiring. It has recently come to my attention that CPTSD is something I may be dealing with, and simply realizing it has helped me feel like I shouldn't feel so bad about feeling so bad, that it is explainable as to why I feel nothing, feel detached, totally anxious, suicidal, unempathetic (I never thought of it till you said it, but I do this). Kick ass. Thank you again :)
In a book by Dr, Gabor Mate, called In the Ream of Hungry Ghosts, he discusses what another medical professional had encountered in victims of torture. The torture never ends. The effects of torture rewire the brain such that the torture never ends.
PS- I think my roommate has this; I'm pretty sure. Also, the 1st and 2nd Evan's Blue CD (2006 and 2007) remind me of C-PTSD music. In other words, I think the lead singer suffers from it. Just listen to the music. And also, "Digital Summer's" EP w/the song "Use me" and "Rescue Me." But definitely Evan's Blue (2006 and 2007 albums only).
You're right there isn't much info out there. My heart goes out to all who suffer from ptsd. I came across a book that deeply touches the subject more than any other type book I've read before. Please visit kaitlyngant dotcom
Blog: kaitlyngant dot wordpress dotcom
It's a book that explores the darkness yet gives hope.
I really wish you the best of healing. EMDR does work. Stick with it.
your videos are really good. I have complex PTSD aswell, although at the time i was diagnosed as PTSD (which is kind of really insulting really when you actually have C-PSTD) With the flashback thing, i've noticed, that its kind of like a carousel of bad memories. Like, it happens all the time that i'm zoning out, trapped in a bad memory, but there are so many bad things that have happened that, it seems that the actual zoning out process of the memory of an incident keeps happening as a
..... constant, but the actual incident being remembered is variable, like a carousel of bad memories in my mind. I Describe is as "the carousel of trauma"
With the little information that is out there, it's sometimes hard to believe there are others who are also in the same shoes as me....nearly makes a person feel a little less alone in todays society. Best of luck with your daily struggles. :)
Wow your so young & thereby a bit lucky loads of people are in there 40's when they discover this (i was 37) some even are in there 80's to learn this. Recognize some things but among others lack of empathy for others is as i know not a c-ptsd problem.
You are going in the right direction. These therapy sessions are helping you and your therapist understand what conditions that you have. Knowing those, the therapist can then steer you in the right direction. I'm pleased for you. Just give it time.
