GO TO HELL! It's where all the cool people are! Oh and you think by posting stupid comments like that on snow plow videos is gonna get you into "heaven", god will kick your ass for wasting Internet space! Fuck u

  • i went on icy road and my step dad almost had a accident and he scared heck out of me and i almost had a heart attack and we spin the jimmy thing and it has 4x4 drive and he is stupid he road me on a 4x4 and he is drunk and the 4x4 flip on us and i almost got killed the bars was sqishing my lounghs and i could be killed thumps up if you think my step dad is a bad driver!

  • why the fuck you would pass the trucks that are clearing the road of snow.... to get stuck somewhere in front of them and make the kick your ass when you block them ?

  • song? Please

  • So why did I watch this video? If a video has too many negative votes, it needs to be taken off youtube. You're not popular if you have over 1k views. You look stupid for keeping it up. Please tell me if i'm wrong...

  • Anyone ever hear the expression ; STAY BACK, STAY ALIVE??

  • Gay vid.

  • If it goes fast and has a steering wheel ill get behind it. %)

  • TahreyUK Sounds like the road would be better off with you behind a desk.

  • Also im always over weight, over height , over width. Yes we get permits.

  • Hello there. Just got your message. Sorry but I move drilling rigs on cliffs mountains and every dangerous place in America. And I love it. Im 50 now and been driving since I was 13. And all I can say is I love it The more danger the more I like it. Any way why all the animosity? If you don’t like it get a different job. Have a great week.

  • This would have ended really badly if she was driving a 4WD vehicle--those drivers think they can do anything but they never really learned to drive on snow

  • This is a tandem plowing arrangement. An impatient driver plays a dangerous game with trucks that are many time his own vehicle's weight.

    Don't Crowd the Plow.

  • it's a driving mission...he's required to overtake 2 trucks on a road with an extremely low friction coefficient in order to clear the stage and earn the prize money....you guys didn't know?

  • I just push them off the road, so they won't salt my car's body anymore...

  • They aren't plowing they're putting down gravel. And its illegal to pass plow trucks

  • @mesjc261975 at 0:25 clearly they are plowing snow... also, i dont know where u are from, but here in canada and im pretty sure in the US too, it is NOT illegal to pass a snow plow... Just sayin

  • Globtour :) Ovo u bosni negdje?

  • thats pure stupidity what if the truck in the front stopped and the back didnt have to time to stop and crushed u in between...Car Pancake

  • So I would have assumed when the front truck moved over that he was trying to let me pass because he is going very slow even for snow and not even plowing.

  • @Pooshooter5k No, he moved over because he has mirrors, so he could see the idiot in the Polo making a meal of their overtake, and being sat high up (and maybe with a CB / 446mhz link to his friend in the first truck) knew that there were other vehicles coming. He pulled over to fit three tight lanes into the space of two normal ones and avoid a potentially (multiple-)fatal crash.

  • @TahreyUK Right so he moved over to let the guy by. Not sure about driving etiquette over there were I live they plow with graters, front end loaders, dump trucks, and pretty much whatever else they can find so its perfectly acceptable to pass them. If you can drive in it(unplowed road) safely I don't see any reason to wait behind the plows.

  • oh shit what a idiot kill his little vw

  • @Fjattue A personal note: I made a similar mess of overtaking a truck on a wet road when i was a lot younger ... in a small VW.

Totally my own fault, and that of inexperience both with overtaking and with the true (very limited) capabilities of my machine. Actually had plenty of space, and a clear oncoming lane when I started... by the time I aborted - sliding with four locked-up wheels & just darting behind the truck in time - it had become rather busy.

This guy is EVEN DUMBER than I was then

  • These dam plow trucks just don't understand....I NEED TO GET TO THE MALL!!! RIGHT NOW!!

  • Yeah, I avoid passing on icy roads, generally.

  • Move up or move over

  • ???

  • polo driver. makes sense

  • purtroppo è pieno di coglioni!!

  • What kind of douchebag drives PAST the snow plows?

  • @ihmesekoilua he wanted to try out his new winter tires.

  • @ihmesekoilua clearly they are not cleaning the roads just causing traffic jams

  • @ihmesekoilua someone who knows how to drive dip shit

  • @hiriderjockblock lol, this video features someone who knows how to drive? i'd hate to see a video of someone who CAN'T drive according to your definition :D

  • @hiriderjockblock correction: someone who THINKS they know how to drive, but only figures out their mistake once it's far too late to act upon that new knowledge. this fella was but one unfortunately-placed bridge expansion joint away from doing a nice 4-wheel drift sideways into the front of that bus.

unless the ploughs are going really slowly for no good reason, you're better off just sitting behind them. at least, until you have a better place to pass than an effectively blind bend...

  • @ihmesekoilua a GIGANTIC douchebag!

  • Words on red bar represent common sense, see?

  • i dont see anything wrong here. those plow trucks were going about 30mph. who wants to ride behind them? where i live its the people that go way below the speed limit on snow and ice that cause an accident. we have a max speed limit and a min. limit. yes you will be pulled over and given a ticket for going to slow. no matter the road conditions.

  • @carminefast77 right... so if theres 3 feet of snow on the road your gonna get pulled over and get a ticket if your driving to slow... your a dumb ass

  • @TheShnitster if your on the highway the min. speed is 55mph. when my wife first moved up here from lower michigan. she was scared and driving slow and was pulled over and told to take the next exit off the highway. and either wait till conditions got better or have someone come get her. she didnt get a ticket but was told if they seen her back on the highway going to slow she would be given one. thats just on the main highway. alot of the wreckes are caused by people going to slow.

  • @carminefast77 Jesus, america makes me weep for mankind sometimes. So, you drive so fast that you can't react to cars moving - slowly, but moving - up ahead, but it's the SLOW driver's fault for causing the crash rather than the people who were driving at too high a speed to avoid crashing?

What if she had a breakdown and couldn't get to the shoulder for some reason? What if there was an unexpected jam (e.g. from a different crash)?

The lower limit is to maintain flow, not avoid crashes.

  • @TahreyUK most times yes, sometimes not. i would guess one in ten accidents here in the winter there are no tickets issued. but we drive in snow from novermber until april. if somebody drives up here and goes below the speed limit. your gonna piss alot of people off. check out my videos i have a couple of me driving in snow. im going to load some more up this week.

  • @carminefast77 And I mean that in the spirit of having damn stupid laws, if you're actually reporting it accurately, btw.

  • @TheShnitster my wife was pulled over for going to slow and had to get off the highway. she didnt get a ticket. but the min speed is 55mph. its a main highway it dont get 3 feet of snow on it. but the visibility gets bad in places. less than a 100 ft at times. and its somebody that hits the brakes because they cant see and get scared that causes accidents. so if you hit the brakes and somebody plows into the ass end of you. your the one getting the ticket.

  • @carminefast77 Excuse my language, but that's fucking retarded. If you can only see 100ft in front of you, you have no business doing 55 anyway as you can't stop in the distance you can see ahead of you EVEN IN THE DRY

What if someone 150ft ahead of you has a blowout and spins to a halt across your lane, unlit? You're screwed. You cannot avoid crashing

Add in rain, and your braking distance can be 2x as much. On snow/ice, 10x or more (so 30mph takes >150ft). Haven't you ever seen someone skid?

  • @carminefast77 Anyway, was she in a snowy or low-visibility section, or in a line of slow traffic when she got pulled for being far enough under the (curiously high) minimum limit to catch the highway patrolman's attention? Or just crawling along out of sheer absent-minded habit, like my mother tends to regardless of the conditions?

The patrolmen are out there for your protection (allegedly :p), I'd contest any ticket they gave me for slowing down in dangerous weather conditions.

  • @TahreyUK she is from lower michigan. they dont get as much snow. but it was storming, bad visibility and scared. as messed up as it may sound everybody assumes your going 60-70mph and when you are going that speed and come up on a car going 45 or slower. the only choice you have is what ditch are you hitting the left or the right. thus makeing it dangerous for the majority of the traffic.

  • @carminefast77 There are minimum speed limits everywhere! No matter where you are you can get pulled over for going too slow and endangering other drivers...although bad weather conditions are exceptions.

  • @skisaresweet my point was except for black ice/freezing rain. drivers with some common sense should have no problem going 55 to 70 mph on snowy roads. like the road in this video. but when you get one person thats going 35mph in a 55 and someone behind them thats scared to pass. pretty soon you have 10-15 cars in a row going 35mph so instead of passing 1 car you have to pass 3,4,5, cars. and thats when accidents start to happen. or you can just go 35mph for 100 miles.

  • @carminefast77 Are you serious?

I think made it to 50 once, on a 2x3-lane motorway, when it was like this. My car was all over the place. Was originally gonna try for 55, but ultimately backed off to 40 in the interest of not spinning out - & not ending up in a massive pile-up should someone else get it badly wrong, and my MUCH increased braking distance and lesser steering performance meant I couldn't avoid joining in.

You might be fine by yourself, but leaving no "headroom" invites disaster.

  • @TahreyUK i go 70mph every day to and from work. we dont have bumper to bumper traffic and mabey once a week i see a car in the ditch.

  • @TahreyUK on a road like this we would be going the limit weather it be 55 or 70mph

  • @skisaresweet im not trying to be a dick. its just people that dont drive on bad roads all the time dont understand it. up here everybody drives the same as they do in the summer. and to people in the south that might seem crazy. and going in the ditch isnt a big deal to us. everybody carrys a tow strap. and the folks up here still stop to help somebody in the ditch. so you can either go slow and piss everybody off. or drive the speed limit and take the risk of going in the ditch.

  • @carminefast77 I'll be the one going that little bit under the limit then (exactly how much, I won't be able to set a number to, as it'll depend on my second-to-second assessment of how much grip I have, the gradient, whether I can turn tight enough to make the next curve, whether I can successfully brake hard enough to stop within the distance I can see to be clear, etc), pissing people off then laughing (and not stopping) as they spin out into the ditch after making a mess of trying to pass me

  • @TahreyUK thats if people go in the ditch. ive been trying to make videos of bad driving in bad conditions. and its not like the other vids on here where everybodys crashing and spinning out. either way i would rather go in the ditch at 70mph then go 45mph and have someone plow into the ass end of me at 70.

  • @carminefast77 Even though this time last year, I was the one overtaking all the traffic ... in the snow ... on my motorcycle.

At, like 15mph with my feet out... The roads were rotten with the proper idiots who think that a light, visible dusting of snow means you have to crawl everywhere at walking pace, even though they don't slow down at all for black ice, despite the latter feeling far more slick and dicey under your tyres if you're paying attention.

  • @skisaresweet Not everywhere. Unless your state/country/whatever has explicit minima, you simply have to not cause an unmarked obstruction (which is how things like horse carts can still be allowed - or gutter-sweeping trucks).

And like you say, they tend to be waived in cases of poor weather (or congestion...). Heck, many european countries lower their max limits in winter & other times of bad weather (fog etc), sometimes quite drastically. 55mph wouldnt even still be legal - maybe not even 35

  • @carminefast77 Maybe you have winter tyres, maybe you have chains or even 4WD, but going over 50km/h (which is the max rated speed for most chains isn't it?) in those conditions strikes me as a pretty bad idea, especially when it means overtaking the trucks that are clearing away the fresh snow and laying down grit salt to melt the rest and provide extra grip.

If its OK for them to cruise at that speed, its OK for you to cruise at it. Kick back and chill out.

4WD won't save your ass in a skid.

  • @TahreyUK im in the u.p of michigan and we cant have chains or studded tires. my trucks have winter tires my cars have all seasons. and up here we drive the speed limit on snow.on I-75 the main highway 9 out of ten cars are going 70mph on snow. we have freezing rain today and its the first time this year where most people slowed down to 60-65 mph.

  • @carminefast77

(Because does 4WD help your brakes? No.)

I would agree if everyone was crawling down there at like 10mph because someone up front is too timid to go at a quicker but still safe speed, but also too bloody minded to stay home or call a snow taxi. But, they're not. This is just some dick in far too much of a hurry making no account of the low-grip conditions they're driving in, or caring at all for the safety of the many other drivers and passengers they're needlessly endangering.

  • @TahreyUK yeah be up here 45mph in a 55mph is crawling. it might sound crazy to some people but its pur part of life. we dont have snow days here. and mabey were all pressing our luck driving. and your right 4wd dont stop any quicker. i now have my first 4wd and dont like driving with it on. i also unhook my anti lock brakes for the winter.

  • @carminefast77 In England we say women drivers are bad, but generally they are just more cautious than men, in normal conditions this is not a safety hazard cos they drive at an ok speed & don't take piss, in these conditions 80% of them are a risk to life, at the bottom of a steep hill u will see numerous women who have crashed, no men just women on their phone crying. Between them they have the strength to get each car out of the fucking road & prevent further collisions

  • @neogastropoda1 yeah we have people that live here their whole lives and cant drive in the snow. but for the most part everybody knows how to drive. we just dont see the accidents up here in bad conditions. but we all have been in the ditch at least once. most of the time its people from out of town. that just dont have as much experience driving in winter conditions and they panic and hit the brakes and thats when it gets bad for them.

  • @carminefast77 amen man!!1 i tell people this all the time its the people that are going toooo slow!

  • @suncruiser00 from my experience thats how most wrecks happen here.

  • @carminefast77 no matter the road conditions? either you guys over there are fucking stupid (cant imagine the whole country to be idiots) or your just talking bullshit.

  • @zimThuet i bullshit on what? theres no reason people cant drive 55 to 70 mph on snow and ice. im not speaking for the whole country. just my little part of the world. our roads are snow covered like this one. and we drive the speedlimit just as if it was dry pavement. and when a plow is going 30mph everybody is gonna pass it.

  • @carminefast77 well okay then, but the fact that ppl are still going normal speed on snow / ice covered roads is dangerous, and i cant believe the police does nothing about that. if they dont, well then they just dont get it... braking distance increases obviously, so you cant go the same speed as you would on dry surface.

  • @zimThuet your right it takes alot longer to stop. i drive 70miles each way to work. i seen one car in the ditch all week.on a road thats 55mph limit. you just have to remember dont use cruise control, and no sudden jerks of the steering wheel. and you will be fine. people that are scared to drive in the snow are the ones that are gonna crash.

  • I dig the eurotrash music...good beat to overtake trucks on an icy road, I'm feelin it

  • yeah, and? I do it too. If you have proper tyres you can do it no problem at all, and I wouldn't want my car inundated of salt/grit for the whole length of the journey.

  • @Lambert0000 Ignoring that

    1. it's a blind curve (thanks to the trucks, scenery, gradient, even though it's not that tight), turning towards the side of the road you're driving on. you're not going to get a great deal of warning of oncoming traffic

    2. the trucks are moving fairly nicely already

    3. you could... yknow... just back off. at a safe following distance you won't get peppered with grit anyway.

    4. even the best M&S tyres have much less grip on snow than trashy budget tyres on dry asphalt

  • @TahreyUK

    1. ahem curve? the curve arrives at 0:30, towards the end of the footage. Before there was perfect sight, even for me wearing glasses.

    2. trucks limit your sight and in snow condition they have much more grip than cars due to their weight. If for any reason they break harshly you are right into their bum. Do you know what happens when you crash on 50+ tons of pure iron, don't you?

    3. Yes, I could. But given #1 and #2 I'd decide to overtake anyway.

    4. Just re-read point 2.

  • I see nothing wrong with that. I do the same.

  • Why overtake the truck removing the snow?

  • ah missed the snow.. where is it?

  • Prepare-Look-Decide-Overtake....

  • name of song?

  • @muiema123 Jorgensen - Untitled

  • Yea and that's why I can't figure out why they risk their lives to save 5 minutes of driving into work or something

  • Why the fuck would someone pass in weather like that, fucking retarded drivers these days.

  • @DegradedDeath If they want to kill themselves that's their will, but these fucking fucks can kill OTHER people. That bus could have spun off the road trying to avoid hitting this fucking moron.

  • Comment removed

  • @DegradedDeath maybe they just dont want to get their cars damaged by the salt driving behind the trucks ??!?!

  • @Playa1sweet Could be but still, stupid to pass in weather like that and with people that close in the other lane.

  • @Playa1sweet So you leave a bigger gap between yourself & the truck. Rock salt is subject to gravity just like everything else, and it won't take more than 3-4 seconds to tumble to a halt after leaving the truck. After which it assumes the same status as would salt spread from a truck that had driven by 5 minutes earlier and is now out of sight

Say, and what's the recommended minimum gap on a wet road? 4 seconds? Hmm. Well, it's snowy enough that the ploughs & gritters are out, let's make it 5.

  • @Playa1sweet I mean, if you driving up right close to the gritter, of course you're going to get a windscreen full of grit. The clue's in the name. There's no law saying you have to tailgate it, though. Unless of course your local law enforcement actively encourages people to get a face full of salt-spreading apparatus should the truck brake suddenly and you're so close up to it your tyres are running on unsalted snow-ice...

I only get hit when I overtake them on dry (but cold) multilane roads.

  • No see the pass was alright but WHY the the fuck do you want to be sandwiched between 2 large trucks? In a snowy condition!?

  • what a fucking stupid video

  • He, or she, is just trying to exit the gene pool lol.

  • Thanks 4 your informative text........Nat !! fuck off will ya!! XD

  • this music sux balls.

  • Ok, he cant pass if he keeps his distance. If you don’t like it stay home. Its very dangerous to drive period . Much less in bad weather. I love this type of weather for working or driving. it’s a natural rush and I love it. Very dangerous. %)

  • @AxeMastersinc1 Please go for a solo drive in a boring mass produced car and crash it and yourself into a tree that was already marked for felling because it's rotten inside. The world will be a better place after.

I don't like having to drive on slippy roads, but I will lose my job if I don't turn up when everyone else does. So I have to go out. It doesn't justify sociopathic idiots refusing to adapt their driving style, needlessly putting my life at risk along with those of countless others.

  • Ive been in closer calls, but never In the show oh god. I live In florida and every time it rains I find my shitty Toyota driving itself o.o

  • @frankytike That comment makes you sound like you shouldnt be on the road yourself!

  • scary shit right there...

  • shouldnt have tried to pass to begin with. people like that get others killed

  • lol are you amatuer or something?

  • What a legend, this is HOW to drive! F*ck the fun police council gritters!

  • looks like they did fine, stfu.

  • looks like germany / black forest xDD

  • this polo doesn't have traction control so yes its even more stupid.. i think only the gti versions have it... if they even had one in this gen polo

  • Wouldn't it be easier to stay behind the snow plow? Where there is less snow?

  • @Bobby0345 Yes it would. However not all people agree, read the debate between me and KoivuTheHab

  • @Bobby0345 Sure it would be easier, it would also be more economical. However it would be slower and this is why 99.9% of drivers will simply overtake these slow vehicles. As can clearly be seen in the video the conditions aren't dangerous, it's very ordinary winter conditions. If visibility would be bad it would be a completely different story.

  • Sure hope that car got it's front end fucked from the sander. Of course, they will blame the Snow plows.

To think, this is what my father deals with on a daily basis.

  • Must be a Big Mover and Shaker late to get to the office...!!

  • this is in Bosnia and Herzegovina :D

  • lolwut @ the married couple here arguing

  • boha jeho co je to za kokotsky video?

  • Technically, you shouldn't pass in such conditions anyway, unless A) The driver is clearly doing 5 miles per hour and you have a clear view of what is ahead. B) If your vehicle has the proper tires and you know how to control your vehicle.

That's how accidents on highways happen. Snow builds up in the center line, or slush and ice, you pass, tires break lose and out you go. xD

  • @BubonicPlague88 Agree 100%

  • looks like a clark griswold move

  • Living in the Alps I know about snowy roads, and consider myself a very good driver with more than 35.000km per year. I never had probs with my rear-drive BMW, whilest others stuck with their front-wheelers in snow.

But i never... no, I NEVER EVER overtook the snow plows... The road in front of them is unlikely to be better than the road behind. And once I saw what happens when the plow cannot come to a halt in time... Well the plow had no damage, but the car in front... o.O

  • The two trucks should be professional enough to keep their distance so that faster vehicles can overtake them safely, they are driving way too close to each other... Btw, boring shit video...

  • @KoivuTheHab If you knew anything about snow plowing you would not make that comment. They are traveling that close together because that is the correct way to plow snow with more then one truck. The first truck starts plowing near the center of the road and the second truck follows behind at an offset path picking up the windrow coming off the first truck's blade. Cars should not be passing between the trucks.

BTW I used to plow runways at a major airport.

  • @robertkurt2 No it isn't, at the start they are driving way too close to each other to allow for safe passing. Trust me, I've been in the business. The runaway is a public road only in Gibraltar, not comparable.

  • @KoivuTheHab The procedure is the same regardless of the country or road. Besides it does not matter how far the trucks are apart cars should NOT be driving/passing in between them for risk of getting caught in the first trucks windrow. Most plow drivers drive this close together to STOP people from passing/driving in between them for SAFETY reasons.

I never understood why people are so self centered that they feel that the have to pass everything.

  • @robertkurt2 It's not about being self centered, no one wants to drive 40 km/h for 100 kilometers. What you said is 100% false and idiotic but I am tired of arguing with uninformed people.

  • @KoivuTheHab If they don't want to drive 40 km'h for 100 kilometers then they should leave for their trip earlier so as not to get caught behind the plows. Also most plows do not drive stretches of 100 kilometers and if they do they will pull over periodically to allow traffic to pass, the car driver just as to be patient. I have been a professional driver for 15 years, everything I have said is 100% true and competent. I win.

  • @robertkurt2 So now you think the rest of the population has to stay off the roads for the duration of this plowing? In heavy snowfall these vehicles are out 24/7, are you fucking retarded? You don't know anything, likely you are just lying, if you aren't you don't have a lot of brain cells. Just so you know, arguing on the internet is like running in the special olympics, even if you win you are still retarded. You should keep that in mind before opening your mouth.

  • @KoivuTheHab Please show me where I stated that people should stay off the road during plowing? Arguing? You are are the only one who is being hot headed, and insulting. I have not used bad language or insulted you once so I win there too. If the roads are bad enough that there are snow plows out that is a good indication that you should stay off the roads or at least adjust your speed to the conditions, like the 40 km/h you stated earlier. BTW I also happen to be a driving instructor.

  • @robertkurt2 You win? So you agree you are retarded? It seems you know nothing at all about winter. I don't know where you are from but if you think it's a reason to stay home because the snow blows are out you seriously need to see a doctor. Aside from personal matters imagine what the economy would be like if people followed your advice. BTW I also happen to be James Bond, and Santa Claus! Sorry but driving instructors actually know something about traffic.

  • @KoivuTheHab You know what, you are a fucking knucklehead. I have not been derogatory towards you once fuck face, but you have crossed the line. FYI I live in a region very well know for its winters. No one expects people to stay off the roads indefinitely during winter, but there are extreme cases where travel is not advised and even the local law enforcement will advise the public of that. If you must drive, you SLOW down, idiot, any driving instructor including my self teaches that.

  • @robertkurt2 Well then I guess you people don't know how to drive in the winter, also you are only allowed to use rubber tires without studs so it's not strange that you keep running off the road and can't handle winter conditions. I never said slowing down in extreme cases is a bad idea, we were talking about the video and the conditions in this video are not hazardous, it's very normal, and safe, winter conditions. You can't expect people to just stay behind the snow plowers kid.

  • @KoivuTheHab Kid? That's hilarious seeing that I am older than you are. But hey call me what you wish I really don't give a shit. The conditions in the video ARE hazardous, that's the reason the plows are out. I don't expected people to stay behind the plows indefinitely of course they can pass WHEN SAFE TO DO SO and not zig zagging like a moron in between the plows while they are working. You wait for them to pull over and LET you pass. Who says we can't use studs or chains on our tires?

  • @robertkurt2 What makes you think you are older than me? Blows are there to make conditions better, just because they are out there doesn't mean the driving conditions are hazardous. Most roads do not have straights that allow you to pass both plows at the same time, not everyone drives a rally car either, if you pass both at the same time likely you are driving much too fast for the conditions. NO ONE will wait for the plows to get off the road, not in these conditions as visibility is fine.

  • @KoivuTheHab Your channel says you are 28. Yes the roads the roads are hazardous. I didn't say severely hazardous but any time you have a surface contaminant such as mud, snow, rain or ice whereas the surface is anything but bare and dry the roads is categorized as hazardous.

  • @KoivuTheHab Correct passing both plows at a high rate of speed is not safe but neither is driving in between them and why would you want to anyway with all the debris being kicked up behind the plow that could damage your car? Yes I agree that there are circumstances where you would have to pass one plow at a time but this should be avoided if possible. As I said before most plow convoys will pull over every 5 to 10 KM to allow traffic to pass Remember those guys drive cars too.

  • @robertkurt2 You just gave yourself away... Because of the angle of the plow there isn't any debris where your car is. Stop pretending to know what you are talking about child, just go away.

  • @KoivuTheHab Child? You're friggen hilarious you know that? I was referring to debris being kicked back from the tires not the plow lol. If someone is that stupid that they're going to drive directly in the windrow then they need their head examined. Anyway as far as professionalism goes the primary objective of the plow drivers is to clear the road is a safe efficient manner, not worry about arrogant hot shots in Audi's and BMW's trying to pass them.

  • @robertkurt2 Yes I know I have a good sense of humor, this isn't news to me. You are pretty funny too, thinking that debris will fly from the tires of the snow plow and that this would be some kind of danger. It made me laugh, it was also a good laugh when you claimed all conditions except dry tarmac are catogorized as hazardous, it was really funny, are you by any chance a comedian? =:)

  • @KoivuTheHab Ever had a rock or chunk of ice from the tires of a large vehicle hit your windshield?...I have and I' sure most other people have. It doesn't matter anyway because passing plows while they are working is ILLEGAL in most countries. And... sorry to say but any professional driver/instructor such as myself as well as law enforcement and transportation officials would categorize the conditions in this video as hazardous. It has nothing to do with visibility

  • @KoivuTheHab Perhaps I'm not explaining myself on a level you can understand, I apologize for that. There is a difference between "hazard" and "dangerous/safe" Yes the conditions in the video are clear and reasonably safe but the road surface is such that driving requires a heighten sense of awareness and alertness. For example a bus broken down on the side of the road on a warm, clear and sunny day creates a hazardous situation/condition.

  • @robertkurt2 No I have never had a rock or chunk of ice from the tires of a large vehicle hit my windshield. I am a professional driver and even when I drive with my own car I keep a safe distance. Also if you would infact be who you claim to be you would know that in the majority of cases rocks etc hit your windshield from cars driving in the opposite direction. In most countries passing plows is NOT illegal, it's only your idiotic laws in North America. Get it right kid, please...

  • @KoivuTheHab No rocks can come from either direction in fact yesterday while driving a motor coach full of passengers on the highway a tractor trailer unit passed me, changed lanes in front of me and at a safe distance but it still managed to kick back a small rock with enough force that when it hit my windshield it left a large chip.

  • @robertkurt2 Yes they can come from either direction, like I said the MAJORITY of these come from cars passing from the opposite direction. You just need to learn to keep a safe distance, clearly in this case you didn't. Don't worry, you will learn through experience.

  • @KoivuTheHab I did keep safe distance. I can not control where the truck decides to change lanes. I even backed off the throttle and activated my retarder to increase the distance between us. All this goes back to your original post that said the plow drivers are not being professional because of how close they are together and that cars can't pass them. My point is that is not the plow drivers job to worry weather or not people can pass them, the onus is on the driver of the car to pass safely.

  • @robertkurt2 Ofcourse it is their job to allow for safest possible overtakes. They are professional drivers after all, they need to take this into consideration. They should not drive that close to each other, end of story...

  • @KoivuTheHab No it is not their job to allow for possible overtakes it is only required as a moral courtesy as they also drive cars and understand the frustration of being behind large slow moving vehicles. This is why they pull over at intervals to allow passing. The only reason they should keep a safe distance from each other is to avoid running into each other. If car is able to pass in between them then great but that is not their primary concern.

  • @robertkurt2 Hellooo? They are professional drivers, and they have been schooled to take other vehicles in traffic into consideration. This is about as clear and obvious as anything can be. Even for a simple car driving license they teach you to take other vehicles on the road into consideration, with professional drivers this is even more importaint and even more time and schooling is spent to assure that they grasp this ideology. It's their job to allow for smooth and safe passing.

  • @KoivuTheHab Yes professional drivers should take traffic into consideration this is why plow drivers should pull over at intervals to allow passing but their primary concern is the clearing of the snow. When I drive my coach I always drive in a safe manner and take traffic into consideration but my PRIMARY concern is to the safety and well being of myself and my passengers.

  • @KoivuTheHab Professional drivers also understand the importance of being patient for example waiting for the plows to pull over and let you pass. It's better to arrive late then end up dead. Funny for kicks I just spent time looking at websites on the subject and every one of them said that passing in between and around working plows is extremely dangerous and should be avoided regardless of visibility.

  • @KoivuTheHab Sure, they pay attention to the other drivers, but just because they drive for a living doesn't mean you can drive like an idiot around them. And snow plows can't let other cars pass them freely, if they move to the side of the road it causes a huge snow burm in the middle of the road, that burm will grab your tires and fling you into the on-coming lane. My advice? Trucks weigh several tons, and take about a football field length to stop in good conditions; dont get yourself killed.

  • @KoivuTheHab If you've come up with a way to determine how far apart those trucks are to even the nearest 5 metres from this video, I'd like to hear your results. It's a notoriously difficult thing to do with 2D video shot from head height. Perspective soon becomes deceptive more than a few tens of metres away. Truckers often do tailgate, but there's obviously at least enough space to fit a VW between them.

  • @KoivuTheHab I said passing plows in most countries is illegal while they are working, meaning the blade is down and the sander is in operation. When the trucks pull over before turning around to do a pass on the other side of the road is the time to pass. I am not saying you are a bad driver or are incapable of safely passing a working plow but for the average driver that does not have the experience that you or I have then the safer option is to wait for the plows let them pass.

  • @KoivuTheHab As far as who I claim to be, for the last 15 years I have driven school buses, motor coaches/tour buses and am federally certified to train drivers of those vehicles. I have also driven large trucks and spent a year driving Vammas 5500 PSB clearing runways and taxiways at a major airport. My other duties included runway surface inspecting and reporting.

  • @robertkurt2 I would actually believe you if you would have proven that you know anything about roads, vehicles and traffic. You seem relatively intelligent (especially for a YouTuber) but it seems you like wasting your time here lying about who you are and what you have done. Frankly I don't care who you actually are but you sure as hell are not a professional driver with the comments you have made, you are not so stupid that you would take the things you said seriously.

  • @KoivuTheHab Really? Well it does not matter to me if you believe me or not. What scares me is that you claim to be a professional driver but according to what you have written and your general attitude towards me tells me that you are a hot head, and a reckless driver. I sure hope the motoring public is not on the road when you are driving. I also think most professional drivers of large commercial vehicles reading our thread would side with me.

  • @robertkurt2 I guarantee professional drivers would side with me, just like the general public would. Also I'm a very good and safe driver, unlike you and these 'plowers' I take other people on the road into consideration.

  • @KoivuTheHab Well I hate to say it my friend but according to the posts I've read so far on here from other people I think most people would agree with me. These plowers are taking people into consideration this is why they are working long hours to clear the roads and make make them safe. You sound like the type of person that would cut my coach off if I was making a lane change or merging on to the freeway even though I had the right of way. This scares me.

  • @KoivuTheHab I think the best way to handle this one is "you live somewhere that gets snowy enough in winter to turn a 1-hour journey into a 2-and-a-half hour one. DEAL WITH IT. IT HAPPENS *EVERY YEAR*. It's not a surprise. At least the ploughs are out clearing the half-metre of snow you'd otherwise be stuck in, making it possible for you to get there at all".

Lest you end up experiencing the kind of whole-country shutdown we suffer in the UK whenever a single flake tumbles out of the sky.

  • @TahreyUK It's clear you know nothing at all about winter. In countries where snow is commonplace we have appropriate tires and driving skill (yes this is tested before you get a license). There is no such thing as a 1 hour journey being extended by 150%, this can only happen in a country where people don't know how to drive in snowy conditions. I suggest you don't comment if you don't know anything about northern countries where we drive on snow/ice roughly half of the year.

  • id go for the hate comment

  • I don't wanna write a hate comment. I just want to know what sort of fun is uploading non-sense video with out-of-contest titles.

I really wanna know this !
