My favorite song, ever. "Fate isn't what we are up against", I genuinely appreciate that particular line in the song. I forget how often we play the "game" and feel failure because we don't reach those lofty goals. It's nice to be reminded of our innate humanity, there being no design and my flaws are fine.

I'm embarrassed to say I just discovered the Shins about a week ago. Listening to Manchester Orchestra radio on pandora and this came on. I've only listened to this album so far but its left me speechless. Thank god for pandora.

I think Kurt would appreciate the comparison. Most people don't know that along side his persuasion for Punk, disorder and noise he had a deep appreciation for beautifuly written pop tunes... much like this one. What not to appreciate? Inventive and unusual transitions, vivid lyrical imagery, truth in message...

I can see how it sounds like Nirvana to some. Kinda. Just the way the chords are put together, and the lyrics. But the actual noise they make sounds nothing like nirvana. Acoustic guitar? Not really Nirvana's thing. The voice? Not really sounds like Nirvana. But... kinda...
