Omg, I didn't know this song had a curse word in it! I guess, when one of my friends did it in a play, the director changed it to "nonsense" instead. I still love this song tho :)
My friend always sings the last 3 lines of this song. "so I dug right down to the bottom of my soul, and cried... 'cause I felt nothing." She can't feel lifes pains. Whenever someone dies, or somthing bad happens, she can't cry about it, she can only cry about the fact that she can't feel it. The poor girl. She WANTS to feel. But, she can't.
@cb2398 Haha! You have a good sense of humor. On a more serious note, yeah, I've known some people like that. They pretty much trudge through life repeating to themselves, "This bullshit is absurd."
@cb2398 I'm not 100% sure that's what it means. I have always interpreted those lines to mean that she couldn't feel anything for him, so she faked it because she IS a real actress. It's away to rub it in his face.
man she sure does have a voice. this is one of those videos where I have to watch it everytime I go on youtube. I would say I go on youtube like everyday lol
These orchestrations are so utterly awful No wonder this is the biggest flop of a Broadway musical to the screen of all time. This Diana Morales is horrific.
Love the song but could someone help me out please? In the dialoge before the song the women laments that she always has to play younger characters, he says something in reply and she giggles and says 'caught'. What does he say to get that reply, no matter how often I listen to it I just can't make it out. Anyone?
im singing this.. i have blond hair and im realy pail wow you can see how well the charctrized this lol. i love this song allredy! and cant wait so sing it!! wish me luck this needs alot of expressions :D
@lvgoddess64 Hey! Don't be mean. Not everyone can spell well. Youtube is meant to be a COMMUNITY not a kids' playground. Please go somewhere elso to be mean.
I absolutely love this song. At first glance it seems like one of the lesser songs from the show, but if you really analyze it, it's so powerful.
I do agree that this was a little too harsh for my taste, but still a good performance. Is it just me, though, or does she kind of look like a female version of Mario Lopez during his "Saved By The Bell" Days? :-P
Woo we're doing this as part of our school musical (Its a mixture of loads of musicals) and the girl that's doing it, my GOD she's amazing! Like way better than this person here :D
our school did "a punch line" {Like a chorus line, but with comedians) (a custom play) we used all the songs from this, just changed the lyrics, and made it more hilarious.
I'm doing the song in a show at college and I am sooooo interpreting it sorta different I am serious at the beging and sarcastic at the end :S have'nt seen the movie before so yano .... ah well
Her interpretation is not the best, but I like how at the beginning she laughs and makes jokes, and she gets more serious during the song and almost ends up in tears at the end.
she has a beautiful voice but i dont like her interpretation of this...she's not dramatic enough and comes across as kind of snotty. not saying she's not talented, but i dont like her interpretation of this at ALL.
Yamil Borgess is my favorite Dianna. Probably the ONLY one to really seem Puerto Rican and act the song with an array of attitude and emotions. "You know what Morales. I think you should transfer to Girls High. You'll never be an actress. NEVER."
This is fine and all but that show was never meant to be made into a movie. The show is the best creation ever to hit Broadway and the movie is the most horrific disaster I've seen, by comparison.
youre not the only one. I read a book that described it as "farily faithful (and more than fairly awful)". also, we had a debate about it in my drama group. it was about half-and-half
This is also my favorite part of the entire movie. This actress was simply fantastic!!! I can remember rewinding it over and over just to see this part.
