I choose to do the Titanic for my report on a structure that has failed. My teacher said that if the Titanic would have crashed into the iceberg with the nose, it would have stopped her dead in her tracks. So it would have been better if she would of kept on going straight forward and her nose would have stopped her.
Titanic went down because Titanic was going too fast. She was going too fast and the crew didn't have enough time to move away from the iceberg... It was the unsinkable ship...
@Kalli870 ikr dude good thinking........ if i wanted to,,,, i would o out there and destroy it myself!!!!! (but i dont wanna to go out there cause i would probs die...)
@VCAmersfoort and they didnt have enough lifeboats because the manufacturers or someone said that it looked messy or something in the movie! Stupid... safety should come first but not go overboard! (no pun intended at all!!)
@tillydog44 Ironically, more lifeboats wouldn't necessarily have helped. Although 20 were carried, there was only enough time to launch 19. That's the reason that the ones launched early-on were only half-full - the officers knew it was a race against time to get them in the water and, after loading them with the people waiting, couldn't hang around waiting for more to turn up. As the situation's seriousness became clearer to passengers, more came outside and later lifeboats were launched full.
It is just tragic that there were not enough lifeboats. Just to imagine what it would be like to be there at the time of the sinking, either in the lifeboats, either on the ship, makes you quite angry with those idiots who decided to have so few means of rescue aboard.
They should've made the ship out of stronger material so the iceberg wont make suck a deep dent in the ship which caused water to flow through the ship and made it tip
Titanic.. The "unsinkable" ship in which went out to sea on it's first journey.. Not knowing that it would be it's last journey it will ever have.. R.I.P to all the people who died during this unpredictable collision and R.I.P to my great great great grandmother, who in which died on it as well. :[
I think they should make another titanic, and if that stupid captain smith hadnt thrown the engine to reverse throttle instead of keeping at full throttle, where the titanic is more manueverable
@Theoriginalyookid he didnt. captain j edward smith wasnt even piloting the titanic when it sank. and titanic did not have reverse throttle. andif they did it would not make the titanic more manueverable they would ve hade a better chance of not sinking if they had hit the iceberg head on
@MLGgameplayer Ramming into an iceberg was like ramming into a huge mountain so it can sink if it collides plus the material they used in the ship was weak and the iceberg broke the first 5 watertight compartments. I hope this answers your question.
The forth smoke stack was only put there because the builder thought it looked better no smoke came from it it was used to store deck chairs and stuff
@Firefox123455 the 4th funnel was actually a vent for the engine room, the deck chairs where stored on most Adeck promenades, your probably getting confused with modern day ships, in modern ships deck chairs and new engine parts are indeed stored in their funnels.

actually the iceberg was moving and it hit the Titanic. So The Titanic didn't Wasn't moving for a little while and the iceberg was moving and scratched the side of the Titanic.
@ilovecats9573 its not, its murdochs, barely, the captain was asleep, while Murdoch was in control, and the the the binoculars were left in Southampton so the men in the crows-nest had less visual aquantinces.
@SuperAshi11 well it wouldn't have been if the Olympic never collided with the HMS Hawke. When the Olympic collided with the HMS Hawke it cause delays in the Titanic's completion so her maiden voyage date was pushed to april instead of march, by then the iceberg was right in her path.
I mean seriously the ship sank and lost 1800 people OK but what about Britannic no seems to give a sh-- about her theirs a ship in ww2 that lost more then titanic
I have always wonder this, and I am sure many others have as well. Would the Titanic have sank if she hit the berg head on? If she did sink than would it have been slower and the loss of life less?
@TitanicMemory51 She almost certainly wouldn't have sunk if she't hit the iceberg head-on, as was testified by one of the ship's designers, Edward Wilding, at the British enquiry into the sinking. The collision would, however, have immedately killed the crew (firemen, trimmers and greasers, mostly) accomodated forwards of the second bulkhead. Nevertheless, you can hardly expect the officer in command officer to have the forethought NOT to take any avoiding action.
this is WHY im scared of going in a cruise, although I have like twice in my life, it still scares me, just incase I might drown or something! R.I.P <3
@GlitchesForBlack even if a modern day cruise ship somehow ran directly into an iceberg, and it somehow was able to penetrate the ship's hull, there are now standards to the number of lifeboats needed/ emergency procedures, etc. they even do drills on short 2-3 day cruises!
About a year or so ago, researchers at the wreck discovered the split was the OPPOSITE way to this view. The top deck went in on itself and the keel split apart. @JtiksPies yes it was. There were 700 witnesses in the life boats. But your right that it has been physically proven that the ship cracked in half till the 80s.
Does anyone have the original documentary of this?!? I remember watching this as a kid and falling in love(gay as) with the history of the titanic. I watched the doco so many times over and over and i knew everything about the ship. Please im seraching for some nostaligia here

@JtiksPies yes it was. There were 700 witnesses in the life boats. But your right that it has been physically proven that the ship cracked in half till the 80s.
