I just got a 76 j-10 with the I-6 are they good, errr well better on gas.

Well, They're better on gas than the 360V8 :) Best I've seem to have gotten is about 17 MPG on the highway (cruising between 60-65). I have the Weber carb upgrade on mine. My engine's pretty worn, though - a lot of blowby. Would probably get a bit better if the engine was rebuilt, but these things are geared so low it's hard to get 'good' gas mileage out of them. Would be nice if I could somehow put overdrive in it :)
