My wonderful niece and nephew watched their loving litte Jack Russell get hit over the winter but he survived after a scary few days at the vet. It can be very traumatic for a kid to see their pet killed. I remember my father was taking me to school one morning and two of my cats had climbed up into the engine and were caught in the fan belt..one died and the other lost a tail and had stitches from head to paw. I still remember holding her in a towel racing to the vet. Oh well,part of life eh?
