I remember when I went through "Boot," back in 2009, GYSGT. Carter was the "Lead Series CDI" and I was in the "Follow Series." It sucked being "Follow" because we had to do an extra week at Camp Pendleton and "Lead" got to go back to the "Depot."

My boyfriend just went into the Marines at MCRD. He graduates in January. I have a question, I have been watching the videos and is there a significance of the hats they wear? In family day they have a different style hat than at the graduation.

From what I hear they call Marines that graduate from Sand Diego Hollywood Marines and they say Paris Island is for the real men. No Offense to any Marines, its just what I heard from a Sgt Maj and a couple other Marines as a joke I guess.

No, he graduated 10 April 2009. He is in Pendleton now. Never seen the kid so pumped up and in great shape. If the DI's read this, I would like to say a wholehearted "Thank you Sir!" for doing such a great job.
