The level of literacy in Botswana is so miserably low. Thats what the other guy maybe referring to as rudeness. I once got arrested in Gaborone Botswana and it was one of my worst experiences because no police officer at the station I got locked up in could communicate in basic English. Even the immigration officers at borders and the airport are so venerable to manipulation by torists.

Gabs is nothing special, a few decent bars, hotels & cinemas, not much else. 1 good thing is that it's a generally safe city, unlike South Africa & pretty much every other sub saharan city and the weather is obviously nice & sunny + no humidity. Tourists though tend to stop over for a night and head straight up to the Delta or Chobe.

As a proud holder of a Botswana passport I can tell you that the average intelligence is not very high in Botswana. This is not an insult, its just reality. Batswana have a lot of developing, both culturally + personally to complete before changing their ways.. eg. Every question starts with Mphe (Give me), many Tswana suffer from a latent (almost genetic) alcohol abuse problem with greatly contributes to the country's unrivaled top 3 HIV/AIDS world status. Gabs is nothing special, a few decent bars, hotels & cinemas, not much else. 1 good thing is that it's a generally safe city, unlike South Africa & pretty much every other sub saharan city and the weather is obviously nice & sunny + no humidity. Tourists though tend to stop over for a night and head straight up to the Delta or Chobe.

Yeah i know, in my opinion i wouldn't go with the shitty weather (4 seasons is pretty cool) and we ain't rude people cos we friendly to foreigners, except Zimbabweans (I don't know why!?), though i must say we are pretty arrogant and confident, at the same time lazy, due to the govt spoon feeding people. and when you go to some stores like Pick n Pay , the cashiers dont even smile at you.they throw plastic bags.like they are not enjoying what they are doing. I find botswana very pretty and friendly... And i found the country very laid back...As others said... "What comes along, goes along" .. no wonder a lot of asians and other countries are coming for business here to make a lot of money....(This is my opinion) Peace!!

No way. Botswana has been hit by AIDS but not in such alarming levels like their poorest neighbors like Zimbabwe, Swaziland and Lesotho. The life expectancy estimation in 2007 was actually 50.58 years, well above the 30-40 years estimation for its neighbors. It is still a very low life expectancy compared to western levels, but this is due to AIDS as you have stated. For people without AIDS, life expectancy in Botswana is as high as 72 years, very nice score for a subsaharan country.

And i ain't trash talking USA and their citizens, the stats about iq are well known facts, American average iq is 98, thats a fact, and its also the normal average iq of the whole world. while most countries are above that, mostly asian countries like Hong kong, singapore and south korea are the highest in the world with iq levels of 107 and 108..

As a proud holder of a Botswana passport I can tell you that the average intelligence is not very high in Botswana. This is not an insult, its just reality. Batswana have a lot of developing, both culturally + personally to complete before changing their ways.. eg. Every question starts with Mphe (Give me), many Tswana suffer from a latent (almost genetic) alcohol abuse problem with greatly contributes to the country's unrivaled top 3 HIV/AIDS world status. Not something to be very proud of.
