WoW's story made this so gay.. 1. They ruined Arthas' voice, 2. Muradin should of actually died. 3. The book shouldn't of made him run to his aide, in the game he didn't for a reason, he's turning corrupted. 4. Amnesia is bullshit, in Wc3 the shard went directly through him, in WoW there were no shards.

@ArtSasil No, he's still a dick, it's just Christie Golden justifying things again. She's not a bad writer, but a lot of her facts are not quite straight in Rise of the Lich King. Lord of the Clans was pretty great, though. Basically Rise of the Lich King reads like someone trying to make excuses for Arthas by giving him internal monologues to say 'Ah! See, he still loves Jaina!' 'Oh, wait, look! Invincible is still important and he cares even for his undead followers.'

It's because Blizzard wanted to hype up Arthas as much as possible and give him depth, something he lacked.

Even with her (very well written) novel, I still think he's an idiot though, and not even half as interesting as Ner'Zuhl was before him.

@Urazel Well, I'll certainly agree there. Also, though, I think Blizzard could have chosen a different writer. Golden is good, but she's really seeming to be a Thrall fan girl at heart. I don't think there was any precident that Thrall and Blackmoore or even Taretha (who I love to death) needed to be in Rise of the Lich King. But then again, I shouldn't really talk, that book is one of my favorite books of all time, not just in the Warcraft franchise.

Like, the fall of Silvermoon was pathetic in WC3, It wasn't even CLOSE to how it really happened, he didn't just charge in there and start raping every single elf, they kicked Arthas' ass. He may have won in the end but a lot more happened than what wc3 tells. IF you want to read the books, I'm sure they could be found online though

Well, that's kind of disappointing, but considerably more in-line with what happens during the Fall of the Lich King. He acts more like a prisoner of Ner'zhul in World of Warcraft than a willing host. Whereas in Warcraft III, he seems like he knows exactly what he's doing, gets swayed by the power of Frostmourne, and yadda yadda eventual Lich King.
