maybe she asked because he's not part of the team involved with the meeting? It looks like the sitting people are doing a presentation, and the other guy is Tech Support. Generally in the working world if a group of people are in a closed door meeting, and then someone not involved with the meeting walks in, they get asked why they came in, it's nothing to do with racism,

how is repairing a phone silly? Following that, Tech support is a white-collar job, one which probably pays more than half the people making the presentation. Not to mention that if you re-watch it, you'll see that the woman sitting right next to the woman who didn't realise that the mute button didn't work is a black woman, so it's not all « fat cats whities » as you put it. Why are you jumping to put racism in a situation where there isn't any?

again, how is Tech Support an underdog position? You haven't answered any of the points I made in my last comment about how it's a job that pays more than some of those making the presentation, and that there were non-whites in the presentation group... If there's any kind of stereotype here at all, it would be that (white) women are helpless, and don't know how to use technology, so they need to be rescued by a big strong (black) man.

Tech support does get paid more then regular staff. Using my own company as an example, and I work for an international bank, people involved with making pitches to upper management start at about $25K, whereas Tech Services start at $35K. I used the words white and black because the tech guy is a black guy in this commercial, hence the ( ) around the terms... do you even finish reading my posts before you hit reply?

(I ran out of space in my post above) If you had actually read my post, you would have read that I said that he probably gets paid more than the people --Making-- the presentation, that would be the people in the conference room, who are making a presentation --To-- the guy on the other end of the phone conversation. The guy on the other end of the conversation is an executive, Not the presenters, the presenters are --Regular Staff--

We can start by the fact that the guy being presented to tells her that she's not going to be getting her bonus, CEO's wouldn't have their bonuses decided on by a single presentation recipient, they get decided on by the board of directors for the company. Secondly, the CEO wouldn't have the guy making copies sitting at their right hand during a conference call. Tell me one thing in that meeting that would lead you to realistically believe that woman is the CEO of the company?

As for your second issue, I do remove stereotypical attitudes at my workplace, as a gay man I work towards removing them every day. I work in a company that has management and staff of all different religions and ethnicities, and there fully half of the people in my department group alone volunteer in community outreach programs, which is why when I see people trying to push this sort of flimsy argument I get so pissed off, because they are distracting from real cases of discrimination

I never once said it was the best, I said it wasn't racist. As well, those CEO's that vacuum their offices would not be ones in a large office setting like in this commercial, Office blocks like that have their own cleaning staff.
