  • never. eating. ham. AGAIN.

    :)

  • the amublace is driven sooooo slow when a kid is in danger!

  • Omg, ambulance will be there in 10 minutes? That's such a long time in a life or death situation.

  • When I was that age, I choked on a little cough drop or whatever it was, and my dad saved me within seconds by grabbing me by the feet and shaking me upside down. Why don´t they try this? Probably the first thing I would do by instinct. The strange thing is, my father was saved the same way when he was a child by a neighbour who saw him choking on something. It´s the scariest thing to see someone choking, I hope I never have to.

  • I think it would be fun to be an actor for this show

  • @msdarkstar1012 yeah :P

  • Aww poor little boy i like this show soo much its a great show i always watch!!

  • This dispatcher David is the sweetest person I've even seen. Thank you for your caring love you gave the mom and the baby. "It was the only thing that meant anything to me." Thank God!

  • who the crap chokes on ham, ham is teh best thing to eat you dont choke on it

  • @loveybumblebee554...well he kinda u kno shoved a giant piece in his mouth so..but iagree WOHO THE CRAP CHOKES ON HAM XD

  • aww i know that guy i see him like all the time he is my sisters friends boyfriend and that is soo sad she saved his sons life

  • What a heartwarming story. It was nice to see that the dispatcher cared so much about the lives of the strangers he was helping, and good to see that such a young life was saved.

  • the big brother has the ugliest haircut in the world.

  • miss this show from my childhood...

  • Remember kids chew before you swallow do not choke.

  • I've been looking for this episode. Thanks for posting it. My cousin used to stuff his mouth full of FOOD too.I can't imagine trying to eat with that much food in my mouth!

  • A segment before that is about a construction is severely cut by falling glass while replacing a store window.

  • I wonder where Shatner came walking out from at the beginning?

It seems like we "interupted" him!

  • who know ham can do such damage.

  • I know freaky!

  • Once, we lost a choking patient when I was working on Basic Life Support.

She'd been choking more than 5 minutes when we arrived, and we couldn't get the Heimlich to work.

The Medical Director told us to wait until she goes unconscious-hoping her relaxing muscles would aid in a successful Heimlich-but it didn't work.

She needed Advanced Life Support (ALS), but she'd been choking too long when they arrived for them to bring her back.

That was a difficult call--and it's why I work in ALS now.

  • Thats sad!

  • @vickiormindyb just wondering what did they choke on?

  • @msdarkstar1012 A pickle. She took it from one of those make your own salad bars at the grocery and a guard walked by just as she was doing it. Afraid he was going to see her she stuffed the whole thing in her mouth and it sucked into her throat when she noticed and became startled.

  • @vickiormindyb wow, that just sucks how one mistake like that could end your life

  • Pause at 1: 35--that's a mighty big piece he shovels in.

Also, after he walks inside, we don't actualy see him choke..we just hear his mother scream "Brad".

We can always assume that he wasn't even choking on the ham because it was taken out of his mouth before he went inside.

At 1:37, he stuffs it into his mouth. The next few second the camera goes to Brad shooting hoops. At 1:42, it goes back to the boy.

Between those few seconds, he may have been directed to spit the ham out.

  • Or during those few second from the time he puts the ham in his mouth till the time we see him on the steps again to go into the house, a crew member may have asked him to open his mouth, so they could take the ham out.

And for the rest of the segment is was realy good acting....

And heimlick was performed on a dummy of the little boy.

  • He is supposed to be 2. He speaks pretty well for 2.

He looks older than 2 to me. I forgot how small or tall I was when I was 2 yrs. old.

He looks like he could be in pre-school maybe.

  • F-- ham lol

  • During the segment when the father is during the heimlick for his son when he chokes on the golf tee, doesn't he says "Sh*t!???

I think Prima Church calls the guy who breaks in to her "cozy, comfortable townhouse" the N word.....

  • If one thinks about it, there could be literaly thousands more segments dealing with chokings::

A candy bar, a quarter, gumball, a slice of pizza even.

There could be many more electrocutions and robberies as wel..

Heck, there should be a segment dealing with Setember 11th, 2001

Imagine if 911 was still in production since it ended to now--the segments that could be re-created: chokings, robberies, fires, drownings, shootings, cops, fires, trains and automobiles...

  • How about someone choking on a piece of potanto? That would make a great choking segment.

  • Anyone else have ham and pineapple for dinner??

I hate ham--not because of this story--but because I just hate the taste.

Pineapple choking situation could make for another segment....too bad 911 is over

  • How can someone choke on peas???

I have of course eaten canned peas, and they are so small--??

    Was it canned peas?

    How about the corn choking....

    Canned corn...

    PS- I HATE VEGGIES!!!!!

I honestly wonder if they choked on corn or peas because those kids hated vegetables.....

In a way, it is nasty to choke on any veggie, but the child must be thinking "I hate to be eating my veggies anyway"

If we don't eat our veggies when are parents ask us to, we have a less chance of choking on them.

  • For some good delicious roles not to choke on but to eat, watch Pillsbury Crescent Rolls commercials on here.

  • It's weird. The foods that the victims choke on tend to look very tasty.

I mean where was that deli ham bought, or those jumbo suckers bought...

Of course, we would be careful to not choke, but the segments made the villanion choking foods look tasty.

For some good ham, watch the movie Santa Claus starring Dudley Moore.

There is this scene where a homeless boy named Joe gets a plate of food by a rich girl, and it looks to be the best looking and tastiest ham ever.

  • i love ham

  • me too :) Depending on how its cooked and how how tough it is.

  • yeah your right

  • Do you think they sell that kind of ham at P&C??

I'll admit, it looked very tasty.

Heck, I have some money left over.

Tomarrow I may go to P&C and get some of the following:

Suckers, Some Deli Ham, Some Rolls, and Some Peanuts, Corn Pop Cereal, and some apples.

    And have a 911 feast!

I hate veggies, so Corn and Peas are out folks!

  • The dispatcher really made me crack up when he said "you are a brave woman". His expression was sorta funny, despite the situation.

  • I couldn't answer the phone for 911 it would make me to nervous those people are really brave

  • I am not sure, but I think the heimlick the mom does on Ryan with Ryan lying down and strattling him is the same kind of Heimlic done by K.G. to get the piece of roll out of grandma.

At least that's what Dave told me when I asked how they saved Grandma.

I was sort of expecting the medics to get the forceps or the instrument used to get the roll out with Ryan's ham.

  • This may sound sort of harsh, but Ryan put that big piece of ham in his mouth which was a very stupid thing to do.

I know he was only 2, but still, he should have known better than to shovel that big peice of ham in his mouth.

  • He was only like 3 what do u expect

  • Kids at 3 make mistakes, and this mistake almost cost him his life.

  • the child should have put a little piece at a time and instead of the whole piece in his mouth

  • cool

  • however the case here is the 9-1-1- system is installed whereas Xenia ohio didn't have a 9-1-1- system in 1989.

  • wow this segment is reminiscent of an early season 1 segment the second segment #102,cpr baby.

  • Wow, a child choking on a large piece of ham. Good thing the new 911 system came in time. Also, I think this segment is the only one that took place in North Dakota.

  • Icy River from #108 took place the river that divides Moorehead, MN and Fargo, ND.

  • 2006 votes, cool(:

  • 2nd! hey thanks for uploading this i like this episode

  • Do you have the One where a Baby chokes on Corn?

  • Corn, Peas, Sucker, Roll, Cereal, Peanuts, Christmas Bulb --those are the remaining chokings

But let's do one at a time of course!
