Stop comparing her to Nigella - this never happens to male TV chefs. No one is complaining that Heston Blumenthal is too similar to Gordon Ramsey.

@aeva86 Because Heston Blumenthal is nothing like Gordon Ramsey. I do see the point you're trying to make, but the unavoidable fact is that she is rather like Nigella, which is never a bad thing.

@aeva86 It was actually Ms Dahl (with her PR team) that announced herself as the "new Nigella". I think she would've done much better had she not attempted to promote her cooking show by going after the institution that is The Domestic Goddess - Nigella.

@aeva86 I agree comparisons become tiresome, but it's quite obvious the way in which she describes her ingredients and dish is very comparable to Nigella. It's just a more refined way of presenting the show. A far cry from a Rachel Ray, neither is better than the other - just different styles. People are comparing styles.

@aeva86 i think anyone's likely to compare her to nigella because... she tries a few of the same tricks, over and over again. the "will cure any disease" line, the sexy attitude, the licking my fingers like no one's watching thing... i can't help myself, she uses the same ingredients!

She is different to Nigella, like them both. Have very much enjoyed 'The Delicious Miss Dahl' series so far and find her very easy to watch :-)
